The study included 24 patients of lung cancer with bone metastasis, 26 patients of lung cancer without bone metastasis and 27 healthy controls. The serum levels of β-crosslaps of type Ⅰ collagen (β-CTX), M-MID and urinary β-CTX/creatinine (CTX/CR) were measured by ELISA. Results showed that the serum levels of β-CTX and urinary CTX/CR in lung cancer patients with bone metastasis were significantly higher than those without bone metastasis (P ＜ 0. 01 ). The findings suggest that the measurement of serum β-CTX and urinary CTX/CR may indicate bone metastasis in lung cancer.

Objective To explore serratus anterior muscle transplantation for the repair of soft tissue defects in foot and ankle. Methods Seventeen patients consisted of 11 males and 6 females aging from 13 to 58 years with the mean age of 35.2 years. The anatomical parameters of serratus anterior of 17 cases were measured, the thickness of the muscle was (1.24?0.65) cm, and the diameter of origin point of the nutrient artery to the muscle was (1.4?0.6) mm. There were two veins arising from the muscle, the diameter of larger one was (2.5?0.8) mm. The length of vascular pedicle was (8.31?1.48) cm. 17 patients with soft tissue defect of foot and ankle were treated with free serratus anterior muscle transfer and split skin graft overlying the muscle. The primary lesions were soft tissue defect around the ankle and Pilon fracture in 5 cases, non-union of distal tibial fracture in 3, Achilles tendon and soft tissue defect in 3, metatarsal fracture and soft tissue defect in 4, and calcaneal fracture with soft tissue defect in 2. All of the patients suffered from infection or exposure of bone or applied plate, the area of soft tissue defect ranged from 4.5 cm?6 cm to 11 cm?13 cm. Results The average operative time was (6.5?1.2) hours. The complications included local hematoma in 2 cases, superficial infection in 2, winged scapula without function loss in 1,scar pain in 2, and numbness of lateral thoracic wall in 1. Furthermore, weakness and decreased shoulder mobility were noted in 3 patients comparing with the contralateral side, but the condition improved half year following the operation. The transferred muscle flap appeared thinner and less bulky , and healed intimately with the adjacent foot tissue, the patients resumed good function in walking. Conclusion The serratus anterior muscle flap is a good choice for treatment of soft tissue defects in foot and ankle.

Objective To discuss the issue of the limb salvage versus the amputation of serious lower limb injury. Methods The history, the age, the clinical presentation, the treatment time and method of the 72 severe open fractures of the lower limb were studied. Following the patients admission, they were examined completely in emergency room and were sent to radiological department for taking X ray films. According to Gustilo and Andserson classification, there were 48 limbs of type ⅢB and 24 limbs of type ⅢC.16 limbs had multiple trauma as well as severe lower extremity injury. Among them, there were 7 (9.7%) limbs with head or spine injury, 5(6.9%) limbs had abdominal trauma, 4(5.6%)limbs had thoracic trauma. Results 16 limbs in 72 limbs were amputated, in which 7 limbs were type ⅢB and 9 limbs were ⅢC. 4 limbs in 8 limbs of more than 50 years old were amputated. The ratio of amputation was 50.0 %. 12 limbs in 64 limbs younger than 50 years old were amputated. The ratio of amputation was 18.8%.Their comparison has statistically significance(?2=4.018, P

Objective To observe the relationship between short-term heart rate variability(HRV) and heart rate recovery (HRR) after exercise.Methods 495 patients (273 men),whose age ranged 19-85 years,were submitted to treadmill exercise tests and short-term HRV evaluations.The standard deviation of the normal-to-normal interval (SDNN),the square root of the mean squared differences of successive normal-to-normal intervals (RMSSD),the number of interval differences of successive normal-to-normal intervals greater than 50 ms (NN50 count),the proportion derived by dividing NN50 count by the total number of normal-to-normal intervals (pNN50) and frequency(lowfrequency power,high-frequency power,total power) domains were observed.Results Among 495 patients,106 patients(68 men) were elderly(age≥65 years).Male gender and hypertension were significantly higher in elderly patients.The young patients had higher HRR after exercise.HRR at 4min (54 ± 13) vs (60 ± 12) beats/min,P =0.003 was the most significant predictor for positive exercise test result.In the young group,both time domain measures (SDNN:correlation coefficient 0.34,P ＜ 0.001 ; RMSSD:correlation coefficient 0.37,P ＜ 0.001) and frequency domain measures (LF:correlation coefficient 0.21,P ＜ 0.001 ; HF:correlation coefficient 0.13,P =0.01 ; total power:correlation coefficient 0.22,P ＜ 0.001) were significantly associated with HRR at 4min.Conclusion HRR at 4min was significantly associated with short-term HRV of time and frequency domains in young individuals,but not elderly ones,who received treadmill exercise test.

Based on the monthly variation of their main bioactive component, the suitable seasons for harvest of the barks and leaves of E ulmoides are April, May and July respectively, and intracellular enzymes in the fresh barks and leaves collected should be inactivated imediately before drying to avoid lossing the bioactive components In addition, between the barks and leaves of E ulmoides, the major bioactive component had great differences, but had complementarity Conclusion The districts, seasonal variatons and past harvest treatments have great effects on the contents of five main bioactive components in the barks and leaves of E ulmooides, and the barks couldn't be replaced by the leaves simply

Objective To investigate the effects of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) on cognitive function and safety in patients with lesions in prefrontal cortex (PFC).Methods Twenty-one patients with lesions in PFC hospitalized in the Department of Neurosurgery and Department of Neurology,Anqing Hospital Affiliated to Anhui Medical University between January 2012 and October 2014 were enrolled and given regular drug treatment as a background.Event-related potential (ERP) P300 latency and amplitude,Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) scores were recorded and compared before and after 4-week rTMS treatment.Results Compared with those before rTMS treatment,P300 latency ((367.38 ± 9.79) ms vs (345.43 ± 11.31) ms;t =5.33,P ＜ 0.05) was significantly shortened,while amplitude ((4.79 ± 1.02) μV vs (7.84 ± 1.40) μV;t =-8.08,P ＜ 0.05),MoCA scores (19.57 ±2.06 vs 23.91 ± 1.30;t =-8.14,P ＜ 0.05),memory test scores (2.19 ± 0.81 vs 4.10 ± 0.89;t =-7.24,P ＜ 0.05) and executive function test scores (2.52 ± 1.08 vs 3.57 ± 0.93;t =-3.38,P ＜0.05) were obviously increased.MoCA scores (18.22 ± 1.56 vs 20.58 ± 1.83;t =-3.11,P ＜ 0.05),memory test scores (1.89 ± 0.78 vs 2.42 ± 0.79;t =-2.26,P ＜ 0.05) and executive function test scores (1.56 ± 0.53 vs 3.25 ± 0.75;t =-5.76,P ＜ 0.05) showed statistically significant difference before rTMS treatment in patients with lesions in either right or left front lobe.Conclusions rTMS which is thought to be a safe procedure can improve cognitive function in patients with lesions in prefrontal cortex.

To investigate the relationship between endothelium dysfunction and experimental vasospasm, twenty-eight New Zealand white rabbits were randomly allocated into three groups: sham operation control group(Group 1, n=8), balloon endothelial denudation + normal diet group (Group 2, n=8) and balloon endothelial denudation + hypercholesterol diet group (Group 3, n=12). Angiography was performed to detect the vasospasm induced by ergonovine and endothelium-dependent vasodilator response induced by acetylcholine before and immediately after denudation and 8 week later. Visible vasospasm was induced at the denuded sites in group 3, and endothelium dysfunction was also found in the same locations. Positive correlation was showed between vasospasm and endothelium dysfunction. Endothelium dysfunction resulted from balloon endothelial denudation and hypercholesterolemia may play an important role in the pathogenesis of experimental vasospasm.

Results: The contents of Ginkgo Biloba terpene lactones among the samples of Ginkgo Biloba Leaves of different growing areas were obviously different, the terpene lactones content of Ginkgo Biloba Leaves growing in Zaoyang county, Hubei Province, was higher. Based on the monthly variation of the contents of different Ginkgo Biloba terpene lactones, the suitable seasons for the harvest of Ginkgo Biloba Leaves were from Sep. to Oct. Conclusion: The growing areas and seasonal variation had great influence over the contents and components of Ginkgo Biloba terpene lactones.

Objective To analyze the prevalence and genetic characteristics of influenza A(H3N2) viruses in the city of Xiangyang in 2022-2023, and to provide a scientific basis for predicting the epidemic and mutation of influenza virus. Methods Throat swab specimens of the influenza like cases were collected from national influenza monitoring sentinel hospitals in Xiangyang every week. RNA was extracted from the specimens for influenza diagnosing using real-time RT-PCR．Viruses were isolated from H3N2 positive specimens, and HA and NA genes were amplified and sequenced．3D modeling analyses were conducted. Results The gene phylogenetic tree showed that the H3N2 isolates in 2022-2023 belonged to 3C.2a1b.2a1 and 3C.2a1b.2a2 branches, respectively. The A(H3N2) influenza virus strains all had amino acid point mutation sites on important antigenic determinants of HA protein. The epitope mutations of the 2022 A(H3N2) strain mainly occurred in regions B, C, and D. The epitope mutations of the A(H3N2) strain in 2023 mainly occurred in regions C and D. Different glycosylation sites of HA gene were found in 2022-2023 strains. No variation was found in key amino acid sites associated with neuraminidase inhibitor resistance. The difference of overall structure was not obvious in the three-dimensional simulation structure diagram. Conclusion The A(H3N2) influenza strains isolated in this study have shown antigenic drift, especially the mutation of HA, which may affect the protective effect of the vaccine on the local population and lead to influenza epidemic. The variations of HA and NA suggest that close attention should be paid to the epidemic and genetic variation of H3N2 subtype influenza virus, to provide a scientific basis for the selection of influenza virus vaccine strains and the prevention and control of influenza.

Objective:To establish a method to determine the content of lidocaine hydrochloride in buccal adhesive tablets contai-ning carbomer as an excipient by HPLC. Methods:Calcium chloride was used to precipitate carbomer in buccal adhesive tablets. The HPLC analysis was performed on a Welch C18 column(250 mm × 4. 6 mm,5 μm)with the column temperature of 40℃. The mobile phase was the mixture of 0. 05% sodium acetate solution(added 50 ml acetic acid into 930 ml distilled water,adjusting pH to 3. 40 with 1 ml·min-1 sodium hydroxide solution)and acetonitrile(70:30). The flow rate was 1. 0 ml·min-1 ,the detection wavelength was at 254 nm and the injection volume was 20 μl. Results:Within the range of 0. 10-2. 00 mg·ml-1 ,there was a good linear rela-tionship between the concentration and the peak area of lidocaine hydrochloride(r=0. 999 9). The average recovery was 100. 2%( RSD=1. 4%,n=9). Conclusion:The established method is simple,accurate and reproducible,which can be applied to determine the content of lidocaine hydrochloride in buccal adhesive tablets.
