Objective To explore the risk factors of ventilator-associated pneumonia(VAP)in neonatal patients. Methods A retrospective study was conducted on the 82 neonates who had ever received mechanical ventilation for more than 48 hours,non-conditional logistic regression analysis was performed to determine independent predictors for VAP.Results By logistic regression analysis, the following risk factors independently predicted VAP:gestational age(OR = 6.209,95%CI =2.112~16.835),duration of mechanical ventilation(OR =5.842,95%CI = 1.366~14.936),times of endotracheal suctioning(OR =4.764,95%CI = 1.416~14.736),re-intubation(OR = 6.190,95%CI = 1.669~16.019),gastric tubes retention(OR =6.794,95%CI = 1.928~19.160),treatment with CNS suppressant(OR = 4.297,95%CI = 1.002~15.216).Conclusion The neonatal VAP occoured for multiple facors, the rsik factors include gestational age, duration of mechanical ventilation, endotracheal suctioning,re-intubadon,gastric tubes retention and treatment with CNS suppressant.

Objective To investigate the association of serum thioredoxin (Trx) and 3-nitrotyrosine (3 NT) levels with diabetic retinopathy (DR) in the elderly,in order to provide new evidence for clinical prevention and treatment of DR.Methods A total of 156 patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) at the Department of Endocrinology were selected.Based on of fundus examination results, the patients were divided into the non-diabetic retinopathy group (NDR) (n=52),the nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy group (NPDR) (n =52) and the proliferative diabetic retinopathy group (PDR) (n=52),with 52 healthy people enrolled in the control group (CON).Solid phase enzyme linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) were used to measure serum levels of Trx and 3-NT in all subjects. The results were statistically analyzed. Results The expression of Trx in the serum was the lowest in CON,followed by NDR,NPDR and PDR [[(324.1± 69.3) pg/L,(429.5±36.9) pg/L,(515.2±43.0) pg/L and (588.8±112.5) pg/L,respectively],and there were statistically significant differences between the groups (F=19.00,P=0.000).Similarly,the expression of 3 NT in the serum was the lowest in CON,followed by NDR,NPDR and PDR [(0.16±0.07) ng/L,(0.22±0.05) ng/L,(0.28±0.06) ng/L and (0.38±0.09) ng/L,respectively],and there were statistically significant differences between the groups (F=28.78,P=0.000).The expression levels of Trx and 3 NT in the serum were positively correlated with the severity of DR (r=0.64 and 0.66,respectively,P 0.001 for both). There was a correlation between serum Trx and 3-NT (r 0.71,P=0.001).Conclusions Serum levels of Trx and 3 NT are increased with the severity of DR,and they are positively correlated with the severity of DR.

Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 1986;0(04):-
Objective To observe the hypoglycemic effect of total flavonoids from mulberry tree leaf (MTF) on diabetic rats and the effect of MTF on disaccharidases from rats. Methods Diabetic rats were treated with MTF, and then the change of blood glucose of these rats was observed; the brush border membrane from the small intestine of rats was stripped and homogenized, which was incubated with MTF and disaccharides, and the inhibitory rate of MTF on disaccharidases was determined. Blood samples from portal and peripheral veins were separately collected at 30, 60, 120 min after maltose solution was infused into small intestine in vivo, then the difference of blood glucose concentration between portal and peripheral veins was determined. Results MTF exerted a hypoglycemic effect on diabetic rats by inhibition of disaccharidases, the inhibitory rate of sucrase, maltase and lactase was 68.0%, 47.1%, 27.8% respectively, the difference of blood glucose concentration between portal and peripheral veins was also reduced. Conclusion The hypoglycemic effect of MTF on diabetic rats is probably via the inhibitory effect on small intestine disaccharidases in rats.

Objective To investigate the aesthetic efficacy of dental implant employed to the functional reconstruction of ectodermal dysplasia (ED) patients. Methods Dental implants were inserted into the jaw bone of ED patients according clinical and X-ray examination. The dentures were made after the osseous integration of implants. The proper attachments were employed to increase the retention of the dentures. The aesthetics, denture retention, phonation, mastication, and the health of soft and hard tissues of peri-implant were evaluated in the 6~48 months follow-up period. Results 12 dental implants were inserted into jaw bone in 5 ED patients and all implants were osseointegrated and remained in the 6-48 months follow-up period. Aesthetics, denture retention, phonation, mastication, and confidence were significantly improved. Conclusions Dental implants can be used to functionally reconstruct the dentition of ED. The aesthetics and functions are improved significantly.

Chinese Journal of Radiology 2000;0(12):-
Objective To study the abnormal findings and metabolic alterations of the brain in chronic hepatic disease with MRI and 1H magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H-MRS) for better understanding the clinical significance of pallidal hyperintensity and the role in the diagnosis and treatment of hepatic encephalopathy (HE) . Methods Brain MRI and 1H-MRS examination were performed in 50 patients with chronic hepatic disease and 20 healthy volunteers. The pallidus index (PI) was calculated and the height of resonance peaks of Glx was measured. The correlation between PI and Child/Pugh classification, and the association between blood ammonia and the spectroscopic alterations were studied. Pre-and post-therapeutic comparative study was also conducted in 5 cases with chronic HE. Results PI was gradually increased from healthy volunteers to patients with chronic hepatitis and liver cirrhosis (1.01?0.04, 1.06?0.09, and 1.18?0.09), and the differences in PI value among them were significant (F=22.294, P

Modern Clinical Nursing 2013;(3):9-11,12
Objective To study the coping strategies of patients with mood disorders and explore the corresponding nursing strategies. Methods A survey, using the coping strategies questionnaire, was conducted among 32 patients with unipolar disorder and 55 patients with bipolar disorder including 34 with current depressive episode,14 with current manic episode and 7 with mixed episode. Results As for coping strategies,no difference was found between unipolar depression and bipolar disorder with current depressive episode or mixed episode(P>0.05);while significant difference was found between bipolar depression and bipolar mania on problem solving(t=-2.869,P=0.006),help seeking(t=-2.443,P=0.018),self accusation(t=2.461,P=0.018)and withdrawing(t=2.870,P=0.006).The patients with unipolar disorder, bipolar depressive or mixed episode tended to use mixed coping strategies, with the percentages of 50.00%,41.18%and 42.86%respectively and 64.29%of the patients with bipolar mania tended to use mature coping strategies. Conclusions Coping strategies of patients with mood disorder are associated with the status of the diseases but independent of the categories of the diseases. Therefore, the corresponding nursing strategies include setting aside the problems, encouraging family member to make decisions and conducting active guidance.
