Objective To build clinical nursing pathway for artificial abortion operation and explore the effect of this method. Methods The nursing pathway was designed and carried out. The satisfaction degree with nursing, status of patients' awareness about contraception and artificial abortion operation was compared before and after the nursing pathway was implemented. Results Before and after the nursing pathway was implemented,the proportion of missing item of operation record was 0.636 and 0.013, the satisfaction degree with nursing was 77.0% and 92.3%, rate of patients' awareness about contraception and artificial abortion operation was 47.6% and 96.1%. Conclusions The clinical nursing pathway for artificial abortion operation may improve the degree of satisfaction- and the status of patients' awareness about contraception and artificial abortion operation, and decline the proportion of missing item of operation note, it ensures high nursing quality and safety surgery, which is worthy of popularizing.

Objective To compare the difference in constituents from different parts of wild and cultivated Ephedra sinica. Methods Using the solvent of 50% methyl alcohol to extract from the stems and roots of wild and cultivated E. sinica under heating reflux, respectively and then determine the content of ephedrine in each extractions by HPLC. The volatile oil was extracted by stream-distillation and analyzed by GC-MS method. Results The content of the ephedrine in extraction of stems and roots of wild E. sinica was 0.55% and 0.000 57% while the content of the cultivated was 0.26% and 0.001 7%. Forty-five compounds in the volatile oil were identified by GC-MS method, among them 13 compounds existed in both wild and cultivated E. sinica. Conclusion The content of the ephedrine is about two times of the cultivated in wild E. sinica′s stems, while it is very low in the roots of two kinds of herbs. And ephedrine is not found in the volatile oil.

AIM:To characterize the effect of estradiol on proliferation,differentiation and extracellular matrix(ECM) accumulation in stromal cells through regulation of BPH-1 paracrine.METHODS:BPH-1 cells were stimulated with different concentrations of estradiol.Conditioned media(CM) were harvested and their effects on stromal cell cultures were tested.Cell proliferation was determined by MTT assay.mRNA of smoothelin,fibronectin,collagen Ⅳ and transforming growth factor ?1(TGF-?1) were analyzed by real-time RT-PCR.Western blotting was used to determine smooth muscle myosin heavy chain(SMMHC).ELISA and radioimmunoassay were respectively used to measure fibronectin,TGF-?1 and collagen Ⅳ protein expressions.RESULTS:Estrodiol stimulated the expression and secretion of TGF-?1 in BPH-1 cells.The proliferation of stromal cells increased when they were cultured with CM harvested from estrogen treated BPH-1 cells.The mRNA levels of collagen Ⅳ and smoothelin increased in stromal cells treated with CM from BPH-1 cells.The results of radioimmunoassay also showed that the collagen Ⅳ protein level up-regulated in the supernatants and cell extracts of CM-treated stromal cells.A neutralizing antibody to TGF-?1 inhibited the stimulation of collagen Ⅳ and SMMHC by BPH-1 CM.The expression of fibronectin was only marginally changed in stromal cells cultured in the presence of BPH-1 CM.CONCLUSION:The BPH-1 cells increase ECM accumulation and differentiation of stromal cells through TGF-?1.Estradiol stimulate differentiation of stromal cells by induction of TGF-?1 expression.Estradiol stimulate proliferation by influencing the factors secreted from prostatic epithelial cells.

Objective To investigate the biological characteristics and management of multifocal papillary thyroid carcinoma. Methods Clinical data of 86 patients who underwent thyroidectomy and were pathologically diagnosed as progressive multifocal papillary thyroid carcinoma from 1995 to 1997 in Tianjin Cancer Hospital were retrospectively analyzed. Results There were 86 cases of multifocal papillary thyroid carcinoma, accounting for 23.4% of all papillary thyroid carcinoma of the same period. In the 86 cases of multifocal papillary thyroid carcinoma, there was unilateral in 12 cases and bilateral in 74 cases; cervical lymph node metastasis in 51 cases ( 59. 3% ); combined microcarcinoma of 46 cases ( 53.5% );Hashimoto's thyroiditis was concomitant in 23 cases (26.7%); local invasion was found in 19 cases (22. 1% ); distant metastasis occurred in 1 case ( 1.2% ); 10-year survival rate was 95.3%. American Joint Committee on Cancer ( AJCC ) stage was associated with prognosis significantly ( x2 = 63. 395, P =0.000). Conclusions Multifocal papillary thyroid carcinoma often occurs bilaterally, concomitant microcarcinoma and Hashimoto's thyroiditis is common with a comparatively favorable prognosis. AJCC stage is still the best prognostic factor.

We reviewed the clinical data of 24 patients with postpartum hemorrhage undergoing transcatheter arterial embolism from March 2009 to September 2011.Twenty out of 24 patients underwent uterine artery embolism,while other 4 underwent internal iliac artery embolism.The hemorrhage reduced markedly 2 to 9 min after arterial embolism in all patients,except 2 who underwent secondary embolism due to the intermittent postoperative hemorrhage. The postoperative complications included low fever and discomfort in lower abdomen.Nineteen patients were followed up for a mean period of ( 17.3 ± 1.1 ) months,no recurrent hemorrhage was observed after discharge.The normal menstrual cycle recovered 4 to 6 months after operation.Three patients underwent pregnancy successfully after discharge.The results indicate that transcatheter arterial embolism is safe and effective in the treatment of postpartum hemorrhage and it should be recommended as a feasible choice in clinical practice.

Objective To reestablish neuroimmunoregulation network and its function.Methods Whole-some gene array was used to analyze the gene expression involved in neuroimmunoregulation function of the lateral hypothalamic(LH) in rats at different immunizational time.The function trees of different genes were analysed with the PathWay Miner public database.Results 632 genes were differentially expressed: including 374 of 2-day immunized group,62 of 4-day immunized group and 196 of 6-day immunized group.Function signal pathway analysis for 398 up-regulated genes showed 27 genes were involved in 31 cell functional signal conduction pathways,including the well-known signal conduction pathways of synaptic reconstruction.Conclusion Synapses reconstruction appears to be the important pattern of functional reestablishment of neuroimmunoregulation network.

Objective:To explore the effects of laser irradiation parameters (irradiation frequency and single duration) on tear secretion, lens and retina.Methods:Thirty-six healthy guinea pigs were randomly divided into 6 groups with random number table method according to different frequency and single exposure duration of laser to the eye, namely, high frequency short time (HFST) group, high frequency long time (HFLT) group, medium frequency short time (MFST) group, medium frequency long time (MFLT) group, low frequency short time (LFST) group and low frequency long time (LFLT) group, 6 for each group.The right eyes were irradiated with 500 lx laser as experimental eyes, and the left eyes of the guinea pigs served as the control eyes.The high, medium and low irradiation frequencies were defined as 15 times, 10 times and 5 times, respectively, and the short and long period was defined as 30 seconds and 60 seconds each time, respectively.The right eyes were irradiated based on the grouping at a 10-minute interval.The tear secretion was detected by SchirmerⅠtest; lens opacity was assessed under the slit-lamp microscope; fundus photography was performed to evaluate the general morphology of retina; retinal function was evaluated by electroretinogram (ERG) record and the thickness of retinal outer nuclear layer was measured by histopathology examination.This study protocol was approved by the Medical Ethics Committee of Air Force Military Medical University (No.20181203), and the use and care of the experimental animals complied with the ARVO statement.Results:The tear secretion was 8.00(7.37, 9.00), 8.75(8.25, 9.00), 8.50(7.75, 9.50), 9.00(8.50, 9.50), 8.00(7.37, 8.75) and 8.25(7.75, 8.75) mm/5 min in the HFST group, HFLT group, MFST group, MFLT group, LFST group and LFLT group, respectively, without significant difference among the groups(χ 2=5.502, P=0.240); after laser irradiation, there were no statistically significant differences in tear secretion between the control eyes and laser-irradiated eyes in all the groups (all at P>0.05). The lenses were clear and the fundus was normal through the experimental duration in all the groups.The amplitude of ERG a-wave was significantly reduced in the HFST group in comparison with the LFST group (P<0.05), and there was no significant difference in the b-wave amplitude among the six groups (F=1.358, P=0.268). The ERG a-, b-wave amplitudes were not significantly different between the control eyes and laser-irradiated eyes in various groups (both at P>0.05). There was no significant difference in the thickness of the outer nuclear layer of retina among the HFST group, HFLT group, MFST group, MFLT group, LFST group and LFLT group (F=0.952, P=0.463). Conclusions:The 500 lx laser irradiation is safe to ocular surface and lens, but there are some injuries to retinal function, and the injury degree is related to laser irradiation frequency.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the effect and predictive value of preoperative neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) on the prognosis of patients undergoing radical resection for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). MethodsThe clinical data of 245 patients who received radical resection for HCC in our hospital from 2004 to 2009 were retrospectively analyzed. The effects of clinicopathological parameters including NLR on overall survival (OS) time were assessed by univariate analysis using the log-rank test. The significant variables were further analyzed by multivariate analysis using the Cox regression model. ResultsUsing NLR=1.5, 2, and 3 as cut-off points, the patients were divided into four groups. The median OS time in groups with NLR＜1.5, 1.5≤NLR＜2, 2≤NLR＜3, and NLR≥3 was 39.6, 38.3, 25.4, and 19.9 months, respectively (P=0.003). Multivariate analysis showed that preoperative NLR, levels of alpha-fetoprotein and alanine aminotransferase in peripheral blood, number of tumor nodules, maximum size of tumor, and portal vein tumor thrombus were independent prognostic factors for HCC (P＜0.05). ConclusionPreoperative NLR in peripheral blood is a novel prognostic biomarker for HCC after radical resection.
