Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2013;(16):31-33
Objective To investigate the correlation between plasma lysophosphatidic acid (LPA),matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9) and stability of carotid artery plaque in silent cerebral infarction (SCI).Methods According to the results of the ultrasound examination of carotid,128 patients with SCI were divided into intima-media thickness (IMT) normal group (35 cases),IMT thickening group (50 cases),stable plaque group (24 cases) and unstable plaque group (19 cases),and 40 healthy cases were selected as control group. The levels of plasma LPA and MMP-9 were determined and compared. Results The levels of plasma MMP-9 and LPA in IMT normal group,IMT thickening group, stable plaque group and unstable plaque group were higher than those in control group [(162.31 ±21.79),(219.62 ±32.51),(279.11 ±36.83),(382.43 ±41.92) μg/L vs.(96.54 ±21.34) μg/L and (1.91 ±0.42),(2.15 ±0.39),(2.69 ±0.51),(3.27 ± 0.48) μ mol/L vs.(1.69 ± 0.26) μ mol/L],and there were significant differences (P < 0.01).In IMT normal group,IMT thickening group, stable plaque group and unstable plaque group, the levels of plasma MMP-9 and LPA gradually increased, and the differences among the groups were statistically significant (P < 0.01).The correlation analysis showed that the levels of plasma MMP-9,LPA and IMT of carotid had positive correlation (r =0.713,P < 0.01 ; r =0.679,P < 0.01).Conclusion The levels of plasma MMP-9 and LPA can reflect IMT of carotid and plaque stability in some extent, which can provide the clinical basis for condition assessment, prevention and treatment of SCI patients.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2017;21(6):899-905
BACKGROUND:Chitosan (CS) holding a good biocompatibility, biodegradability, antibacterial property and hemostasis effect cannot only promote wound healing and tissue repair, but also exhibit sustained-control release when carrying berberine hydrochloride (Bh). Therefore it functions as an excellent antibacterial and hemostatic material. OBJECTIVE:To prepare the porous CS/Bh composite xerogel and observe its antibacterial and hemostatic properties. METHODS:The porous CS/Bh composite xerogel was prepared using freeze-drying method, and its microstructure was characterized by scanning electron microscope and Fourier transform infrared spectrometer. The biocompatibility was detected through MTT assay and the in vitro antibacterial and hemostatic properties were observed through antibacterial test and blood clotting index. RESULTS AND COCNLUSION:The porosity of the CS/Bh composite xerogel was 83.1%-90.5%and almost degraded after 72 hours of immersion in PBS. The in vitro antibacterial and hemostatic properties of the composite xerogel were significantly better than those of CS, which were enhanced with the Bh content increasing. Additionally, the CS/Bh (10%) composite xerogel showed the best hemostatic and antibacterial abilities in vitro. To conclude, the CS/Bh composite xerogel possesses a good biocompatibility and strong hemostatic and antibacterial abilities, which is a promising postoperative antibacterial and hemostatic material.

3T3-L1 adipocytes were cultured and differentiated into mature adipocytes in vitro. The adipocytes were intervened by ACAT inhibitor( 2 μg/ml) and ox-LDL with various concentrations (0,25,50,75,and 100 μg/ml)for 48 h,ACAT inhibitor( 2 μg/ml) and ox-LDL( 50 μg/ml) at the 0,6,18,36,and 48 h,or ACAT inhibitor( 2 μg/ml),ox-LDL( 50 μg/ml),and TUDCA with various concentrations(0,100,200,and 400 μ mol/L)for 48 h,respectively. The levels of visfatin in supernatant were examined by ELISA and the expressions of protein GRP78 and CHOP in adipocytes were detected by Western blot. After the adipocytes were treated with ACAT inhibitor and ox-LDL at different concentrations for 48 h,the cholesterol concentration and the expressions of GRP78 and CHOP protein in adipocytes and the visfatin levels in the supernatant fluid were increased with the increase of the ox-LDL concentration. The differences had statistical significance in the experimental groups compared with blank control group( all P<0.05 ).After the intervention with ACAT inhibitor and ox-LDL for different durations, the expressions of GRP78 and CHOP protein in adipocytes and the visfatin levels in the supernatant fluid were up-regulated in a timedependent manner. The differences between experimental groups and blank control had statistical significance( all P<0.05 ).After the intervention with ACAT inhibitor,ox-LDL,and different concentrations of TUDCA for 48 hours, the expressions of GRP78 and CHOP protein in adipocytes and visfatin levels in the supernatant fluid were down-regulated in a dose-dependent manner and as compared with blank control group the difference were statistically significant( all P< 0.05 ).The increase of cholesterol load in adipocyte may promote the visfatin secretion, denoting that the mechanism might be due to the enhancement of endoplasmic reticulum stress in aidpocytes.

ObjectiveTo investigate the correlation between disease severity, prognosis and blood serum thyroxine level in patients with severe pneumonia. MethodsBlood was obtained from 69 severe pneumonia patients to detect serum thyroxine level( T3 、FT3 、T4 、FT4 、rT3 and TSH),and patients were grouped according to APACHE Ⅱ score. Results APACHE Ⅱ score exhibits positive correlation with serum T3 ( r =0.46,P < 0.01 ),FT3 ( r =0.44,P < 0.01 ) and T4 ( r =0.29,P < 0.05 ) levels, but have no correlation with FT4 and rT3 levels. Conclusion The changes of T3,FT3,T4 levels have correlation with disease severity in patients with severe pneumonia, the lower serum T3,T4,the more severe disease and more mortality.

Objective To observe clinical effects of treating subarachnoid hemorrhage with intracranial aneurysm interventional embolization combined with Chinese herbs of removing blood stasis and hemostasis. Methods 45 cases with subarachnoid hemorrhage were randomly reeurited into a control group and a treatment group. The control group was treated with intracranial aneurysm interventional embolization, and the treatment group was treated with intracranial aneurysm interventional embolization combined with Chinese herbs with the functions of removing blood stasis and hemostasis. The clinical effect was observed between the groups. Results The clinical effect in the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P< 0.05 ). Conclusion The treatment of subarachnoid hemorrhage with intracranial aneurysm interventional embolization combined with Chinese herbs of removing blood stasis and hemostasis is better than intracranial aneurysm interventional embolization exclusively.

Objective To explore clinical treatment of postoperative hyponatremia of pituitary tumor. Meth-ods 32 cases of patients with postoperative hyponatremia of pituitary tumor were randomly divided into control group and treatment group. The control group(n = 15) was treated with routine western medicine, and the treatment group(n = 17) was treated with water limited and sodium supplemented based on the control group. The clinical effect was observed between control group and treatment group. Results The clinical effect in the treatment group was signifi-cantly higher than that of the control group(P <0.05). Conclusion The treatment of water limited and sodium sup-plemented on postoperative hyponatremia of pituitary tumor is better.
