AIM: To analyze the bacterial resistance of clinical isolates in a hospital. METHODS: Susceptibility of 285 strains of G - bacillus and 133 strains of G + bacillus was observed in 18 kinds of antibiotics. RESULTS: Resistance increased in most G - bacilli to the third generation cephalosporin. The resistance rate was 28.4 % in the 74 strains of staphylococcus aureus, and 3.4 % in enterococci to vancomycin. No vancomycin resistant strain was found. Extend spectrum ? lactamases of E.coli and klebsiella (ESBLs) accounted for 34.0 % and 29.7 %, respectively. CONCLUSION: The drug resistance is severe in antibiotics, indicating that susceptibility determination is important in selection of antibiotics.

Objective To investigate clinical effect and mechanism of Yudanrongxin pills in the treatment of patients with acute myocardial infarction ( AMI) .Methods 86 cases of AMI in our hospital from February 2014 to February 2015 were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group, with 43 cases in each group. The patients in the control group were treated with conventional therapy, while patients in observation group were treated with Yudanrongxin pills on the basis of the control group. The related inflammation factors, indicators of myocardial injury and heart function index were compared between two groups before and after treatment. Results Compared with before treatment, in both two groups after treatment, the serum inflammatory factors including high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP), IL-6,soluble vascular cellular adhesion molecule-1 (sVCAM-1), TNF-αand P-selectin decreased, the myocardial injury criterion including creatine kinase-MB (CK-MB), lactate dehydrogenase (LD), myocardial troponin I (cTnI) and myoglobin (Mb) decreased, the cardiac function indexes of left ventricular end systolic volume (LVESV) and left ventricular end diastolic volume (LVEDV) decreased and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) increased (P<0.05).Compared with control group, the hs-CRP,IL-6,sVCAM-1,TNF-α,P-selectin,CK-MB,LD,cTnI and Mb in observation group were lower(P<0.05).The degree of improvement at cardiac function was better than that in control group (P<0.05).Conclusion Yudanrongxin pills could better improve cardiac function in treatment with AMI, its role was relative to inhibition of inflammatory factors and myocardial protection against injury.

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of acupuncture at Huatuo jiaji points plus point Shixuan bloodletting in treating cervical spondylotic radiculopathy. Methods One hundred patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy were randomly allocated to treatment and control groups, 50 cases each. The treatment group received acupuncture at Huatuo jiaji points plus point Shixuan bloodletting and the control group, acupuncture at Huatuo jiaji points alone. Plasma viscosity was measured in the two groups before and after treatment. The clinical therapeutic effects were compared between the two groups. Results There was a statistically significant pre-/post-treatment difference in plasma viscosity in the two groups (P<0.05). There was a statistically significant post-treatment difference in plasma viscosity between the treatment and control groups (P<0.05). The total efficacy rate was 94.0% in the treatment group and 84.0% in the control group; there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture at Huatuo jiaji points plus point Shixuan bloodletting is an effective way to treat cervical spondylotic radiculopathy.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the surgical techniques and appropriate perioperative management for ensuring successful orthotopic liver transplantation (ROLT) in rats.
METHODSBased on the double-cuff technique of Kamada, we modified the surgical techniques of separation, perfusion and cold preservation of the donor liver, shearing and anastomosis of the suprahepatic vena cava with optimized postoperative infusion protocols and animal care.
RESULTSTwo hundred and seventy rats underwent ROLT and a learning curve of the success rate was built to reflect the improvement of techniques. The learning curve showed steep improvements over the exploration stage, breakthrough stage and maturation stage, and the success rates increased sharply over time (0%, 71.1%, and 94.5%, respectively) until finally reaching over 90%. The shearing and anastomosis of the suprahepatic vena cava remained the most critical and difficult techniques in ROLT modeling.
CONCLUSIONProficient microsurgical techniques and meticulous nursing can reduce postoperative complications, enhance operational success rate and extend the survival time after ROLT.

Objective:To analyze the clinicopathological features of giant ovarian masses(mean diameter≥10 cm)and analyze the clinical characteristics of patients in different age groups. Methods:The clinicopathological characteristics of 311 patients diagnosed with giant ovarian masses by surgery at Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital,Affiliated Hospital of Medical School,Nanjing University from January 2014 to December 2022 were retrospectively analyzed.Patients were further stratified by age and mass size to compare the differences of clinical and patho-logical features among different age groups and different mass diameter groups.Results:①The median age of thepatients were 44(24,60)years old.The first symptoms were as follows:ovarian mass discovered during physi-cal examination, abdominal pain, bloating, conscious abdominal distension, and symptoms of compression.②The surgical methods were as follows:unilateral oophorectomy(30.5%,95/311),ovarian cystectomy(28.9%,90/311),tumor staging or cytoreductive surgery(28.0%,87/311),total hysterectomy with bilateral adnexectomy(12.5%,39/311).③The pathological types were benign(49.5%,154/311),malignant(31.8%,99/311)and borderline(18.7%,58/311).④ Patients complained abdominal distension in<20 years old group were signifi-cantly higher than the other two groups(P<0.05).The ovarian resection rate in the>50-year-old group was higher than that of the other two groups(P<0.05),and the rate of unilateral ovarian resection in the<20-year-old group was still as high as 30.1%(15/49).⑤ The size of the mass correlated with the duration of the disease. When the disease course was between 1 to 6 months, the mass diameter line>30 cm was the most common(P<0.05).The incidence of borderline tumors in the>30 cm group was significantly higher than that in the other two groups, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:Ovarian mucinous and mucinous borderline tumors are the most common types of giant adnexal masses. The size of the mass tends to increase with the prolongation of the disease course. The incidence of borderline tumors increases with the in-crease of mass.Health education for young people should be strengthened. When abdominal pain, abdominal bloating, especially lower abdominal distension occurs, they should seek medical treatment in time to avoid adnex-ectomy due to borderline tumors.

Objective:To investigate the stability of fat emulsions after the preparation of parenteral nutrient solution under different storage conditions. Methods:Standardized parenteral nutrient solution was used to prepare a total of 24 bags of nutrient solution with the same formula, except for that Group A (12 bags) contains 20% of medium and long chain fat emulsion (C6-24) while Group B contains 20% of C8-24. The preparations were stored under 2-8℃, 23-25℃, and 35-37℃ and were examined at 24h, 48h and 72h after preparation. The appearance, average size of fat particles, pH value of nutrient solution, and lipid peroxidation were investigated. Results:After storage at 4℃, 25℃ and 36℃ for 24h, 48h and 72h respectively, both groups of preparations showed no obvious change in appearance. There was no significant difference in pH ( P>0.05) nor lipid peroxidation ( P>0.05). Conclusion:Both kinds of fat emulsion are stable in terms of pH value, fat particle size and lipid peroxidation, and can be used for patients receiving intravenous nutrition support.
