1.The narrative turn in doctor-patient communication research and cultivation of medical students' medical narrative competence

Effective medical practice in the bio-psycho-social medical model calls for the doctor's narrative and communicative skills.The gradual application of narratives in medical practice and research facilitates the combination of narrative methods with medical science.The narrative medicine movement greatly promotes the narrative turn in the research of doctor-patient communication and provides a new perspective in medical humanities education.In the process of doctor-patient communication,the appropriate use of doctors' high narrative competence contributes to effective doctorpatient communication and helps to build a harmonious doctor-patient relationship.In medical education,the teaching strategy of combining classroom teaching with clinical probation teaching should be adopted to cultivate and enhance medical students' medical narrative competence.
2.A survey of the current situation of English learning anxiety of TCM majors and its solution

This research analyzed the current situation of English learning anxiety of TCM majors by means of conducting a questionnaire based on the English learning anxiety scale (ELAS).The questionnaire results showed that communication apprehension was most prominent in terms of extent and amount while test anxiety also accounted for an important part of anxiety.The research further analyzed the influences of English learning anxiety and proposed some measures to ease students' anxiety and to enhance learning efficiency from teachers' perspectives.
3.Investigation on cognitive misunderstandings in English learning among the students with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) majors in TCM universities

To investigate the current condition of cognitive misunderstandings of English learning among students with traditional Chinese medicine majors, in order to put forward strategies for English learning in TCM universities.The investigation was carried out by the method of questionnaires among the students with TCM majors. Another investigation was carried out by interviews with TCM students, English teachers and experts, TCM teachers and experts. Cognitive misunderstandings of English learning among students with TCM majors occurred, such as low participation of English extracurricular learning, wrong learning motivation, weak awareness of self-learning and international exchange and communication. There were 3 ways for solving cognitive misunderstandings, including that students could improve the correct learning attitude and self-learning awareness and practice, that English and TCM teachers and experts could give students some advice of career development and TCM internationalization, and that TCM universities could reinforce English and bilingual teacher team construction, improve educational environment.
4.Practice and discussion on application ability-oriented college English education reform in Beijing university of Chinese medicine

College English education in TCM universities should set up its own unique education system characterized by the TCM characteristics, manipulability and generalizability. Here the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine was taken as an example to discuss the necessity, theoretical basis, specific methods and preliminary achievements of the application ability-oriented college English education reform in the past six years that serves students' learning needs and career development as well as the university's talents cultivation.
