Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of bleomycinum A5 on different type and site of eye hemangioma in infant. Methods 45 infant cases (23 females and 22 males) of hemangioma of eye were studied from the outpatient deparment of our hospital between 1996 and 2001. The powder of bleomycinum A5 was dissolved in 2 % procaine solution. The mixed liquid was injected uniformly into the mass of hemangioma of eye until it appeared offwhite. Results After the injection, the masses of hemangioma of eye swelled and atrophied subsequently, and the reaction disappeared within 7 days. The appearance of the local tissue turned from red to white. The hardness of it became soft several months after injection. 43 of 45 (95.5 %) patients healed after 2~5 times injection. Conclusions This method is proved effective to different type of hemangioma in infant eye, with minor damage, mild scar formation and good appearance. The side effect includes delay of development in the socket of orbit bone, local tissue necrosis and pigmentation of the skin.

To summarize the present situation of research on amylolytic lactic acid bacteria and its amylase, and the fermentation technology of amylolytic lactic acid bacteria. The amylolytic lactic acid bacteria have the ability of secreting amylase, can direct ferment starchy material into lactic acid without hydrolysising processes, simplify the production process, and saving the equipment investment, thereby, decrease the cost of production.Amylolytic lactic acid bacteria isolated from traditional fermented food,or from organic waste and kitchen waste. The mechanism of direct utilize starch raw materials by the amylolytic lactic acid bacteria were introduced, the fermentation technology of amylolytic lactic acid bacteria were compared.Meanwhile it was pointed out that through mutation breeding and genetic engineering methods gain the potent amylolytic lactic acid bacteria, and use the advanced fermentation and separation technology can improve the productivity of lactic acid.

OBJECTIVEThe aim of the present study is to explore the effects of exhaustive exercise-induced oxidative stress on the antioxidant capacity and diformability of rat red blood cells.
METHODSRats were divided into three group (n = 10): sedentary control (C), exhaustive running exercise (ERE) and moderate running exercise (MRE) groups. Animals in the ERE group started treadmill running at a speed of 20 m/min speed with a 5% gradient, and reached a speed of 25 m/min with gradient 15% in 20 min. Running was continued until exhaustion. MRE group rats running at a speed of 20 m/min with a 5% gradient for 40 min. The levels of free thiol in erythrocyte membrane protein, lipidperoxidation levels and membrane protein components were analyzed. The red blood cell deformability of different groups was also observed.
RESULTSThe results showed that red blood cells were damaged by severe oxidative stress and the anti-oxidative capacity decreased significantly under exhaustive exercise conditions. Besides, lipid peroxidation and protein sulfhydryl cross-link based clustering of membrane were found after exhaustive exercise, and polymers high molecular weight (HMW) was formed. The elongation index (EI) was found to decline significantly in the ERE group compared with the C and MRE groups under shear stress (control group, 0.41 +/- 0.01 at 3 Pa and 0.571 +/- 0.008 at 30 Pa; ERE group, 0.314 +/- 0.013 at 3 Pa and 0.534 +/- 0.009 at 30 Pa; P < 0.05 and P < 0.01, respectively).
CONCLUSIONThese exercise-induced oxidative injure result in a significant decrease in deformability of rat erythrocytes, which in turn leads to dysfunction in the microcirculatory.

Objective To evaluate the surgical treatment of carotid artery stenosis. MethodAccording to the level and degree of the stenosis, different operations were performed on 120 patients who suffered from the extracranial carotid stenosis. Treatment result was retrospectively reviewed. ResultSurgery was successful in all the patients. We performed carotid endarterectomy on 111 cases and other operations on 9 cases. The incidence of postoperative complications was low, especially for carotid endarterectomy. ConclusionCarotid endarterectomy is still the main therapy for the treatment of carotid artery stenosis with a satisfactory result.

Objective To investigate the value of the Wells score and D-dimer assay in assisting pulmonary perfusion imaging (PPI) for the diagnosis of acute pulmonary embolism (APE). Methods One hundred twenty-one patients with suspected APE were studied from January, 2006 to December, 2008. All patients underwent the Wells score, the quantitative D-dimer assay, chest X-ray photography, and PPI. The diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of PPI with the assistance of Wells score and D-dimer assay were calculated. Results Fifty (41.3%) patients were diagnosed with APE. PPI combined with chest X-ray photography (Q/X scan) showed positive results in 49 patients. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of the Q/X scan were 86.0% (43/50), 91.5% (65/71), 87.8% (43/49) and 90.3% (65/72), respectively. With assistance of Wells score >4 and D-dimer≥0. 5 mg/L, Q/X scan had a positive predictive value of 100.0% (29/29), for patients with Wells score ≤4 and D-dimer<0.5 mg/L, the negative predictive value for Q/X scan was 100.0% (41/41). Conclusion Combined with Wells score and D-dimer assay, PPI can make accurate diagnosis of APE.

Objective To study the quality of outpatient prescriptions for patients of different age groups at both township and village level, for the purpose of evaluating the outcomes and problems of the ongoing healthcare reform at primary levels. Methods 100 outpatient prescriptions of April 2015 were mechanically sampled randomly from two township hospitals and 8 village clinics in counties A and B in Hubei province. These prescriptions were analyzed for the drug count per prescription, percentage of intravenous prescriptions, that of antibiotics, that of hormones and average cost per prescription. Results At the township hospitals, the drug count per prescription(2.02)of county A was less than that of county B(3.26),while the percentage of intravenous prescriptions(30.30%),that of antibiotics(47.98%)and hormones(6.57%)of county A were significantly less than those of county B(50.65%,69.08% and 15.13% respectively). At village clinic level, the percentage of intravenous prescriptions(31.05%)of county A was higher than that of county B(20.34%),the average prescription costs(¥29.28)of county A was less than county B(¥31.45);while in terms of children′s prescriptions, average drug count of county A(2.50)was higher than county B(2.09),and its proportion of antibiotics(65.91%)was higher than county B(45.56%).Conclusions General primary care reform is faced with challenges of poor control of intravenous injection and use of antibiotics, particularly at village clinics and pediatric drug use in terms of prescription quality control. Both township and village levels should strengthen the supervision over the drug suppliers, guide the demand side to rationally use drugs and focus on the reasonableness of the medication of village clinics and children.

Chinese Journal of Practical Surgery 2019;39(10):1040-1041
The recurrence rate of primary hepatocellularcarcinoma is very high, and repetitive resection is still the besttreatment for operable recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma.Indocyanine green(ICG) has been widely used andpopularized in resection of hepatocellular carcinoma, providesmore possibilities and diversity for the surgical treatment ofrecurrent hepatocellular carcinoma. Combined withpreoperative imaging,three-dimensional imaging technologyand intraoperative ultrasound,ICG can effectively improve theradical and accuracy of the operation for recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma. ICG-guided hepatectomy isappropriate for the new concept and technical system of liversurgery advocated by modern medical model, and realizesfunctional and anatomical hepatectomy for recurrenthepatocellular carcinoma.
