Journal of International Oncology 2006;0(09):-
Promyelocytic leukemia (PML) protein can regulate many cellular processes, Here we summarize the role of PML protein in cell and mechanisms according to researches in recent years.
4.Study Progress of Hematopioetic Stem Cell Transplantation Therapy on Acute Leukemia in Children
Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2006;0(15):-
Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(HSCT) is one of the measures therapy on acute leukemia in children.Very-high-risk children with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL),such as Philadelphia chromosome-positive(Ph+),T cell immunophenotype, achieved the first complete remission(CR1),and then receive allogeneic HSCT(allo-HSCT).The transplantation group had significantly improved disease-free survival(DFS)and overall survival(OS) compared with chemotherapy group. ALL children in the second complete remission(CR2) were recommended to receive allo-HSCT,especially early-relapse group. All children in the third complete remission (CR3) were recommended to receive an allo-HSCT,and reduce replapse rate through inducing graft versus leukemia.Total body irradiation-based conditioning regimens in children with ALL has advantage over chemotherapy conditioning regimens.Children with acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML) achieved CR1 and then undergo all-HSCT.This group had significantly improved DFS and OS compared with chemotherapy group. The children with relapsed AML,if having suitable donor, were recommended to receive allo-HSCT. The children with AML who underwent transplantation relapse, and can receive the second transplantation. There was no advantage in children patients with AML using TBI-based conditioning regimens.Conditioning regimens consisted of high-dose cytarabine,in combination with granulocyte colony-stimulating factor has advantage, and improve DFS. Unrelated umbilical cord blood has emerged as a potential option.Compared with unrelated bone marrow transplantation, there was no different in DFS and relapse. For the extent,it is one of the donor hematopoietic stem cell sources.

Objective To discuss the mechanism of rubia cordifolia extractive affecting some biochemical indicators of blood serum and sporting ability in highly endurance-trained rats, which can provide theoretical basis for using rubia cordifolia extractive as sport supplements. Methods After establishing the highly endurance-trained rats model,we tested the exhaustion time in the trained rats and the contents of serum urea(BUN),lactic dehydrogenase(LOH),blood lactate(BLa)as well as the cruarin(Hb)in the rats. Results The activity of LDH in training group was greater than that in silent group(P

Objective To demonstrate the manifestations on positron emission tomographycomputed tomography (PET-CT) at different stages in anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) encephalitis. Methods PET-CT was performed in 10 patients with anti-NMDAR encephalitis at different clinical stages, and the images were analyzed to investigate the relation of metabolic patterns in the images with clinical presentations. Results Except for normal PET-CT images in 2 patients, images in 8 patients at early stage of the disease showed generally increased 2-[18F] fluoro-2-Deoxy-D-glucose(18F-FDG) uptake at frontal and temporal lobe, basal ganglion and cerebellum, indicating hyper-metabolism in these areas, while 2 of them also had mixture of hyper-and hypo-metabolism in parietal-occipital region. In longitudinal analysis of PET-CT images in these 8 cases, starting at basal ganglion,18 F-FDG uptake gradually decreased bilaterally, prominently at left dominant hemisphere and right cerebellum. Conclusions During the course of anti-NMDAR encephalitis,18F-FDG metabolism markedly increases at early stage and then gradually declines at late stage,at frontal, temporal, parietal and occipital lobes, basal ganglion and cerebellum, predominantly at left dominant hemisphere and right cerebellum. However,in relapsing anti-NMDAR encephalitis,18 F-FDG metabolism in brain does not show these characteristics.

OBJECTIVETo study the effect of ethyl acetate fraction of Blumea balsamifera (BBE) residue on treating rats of adjuvant arthritis (AA) and its mechanism.
METHODThe rats were immunized with the Freund's complete adjuvant (FCA). After modeling, 28 days' treatment with BBE was performed. During the experimental process, rat mass, toe girth, arthritic index (AI), proliferation of immune organs and pathological section were measured. After treatment, blood samples were collected through fossa orbitalis vein for detection of serum SOD, MDA, GSH, NO, OH*, ALP, AST, ALT, NAG and SA content using colorimetric method and IL-1, IL-6, TNF-α content using ELISA method.
RESULTAdministration with BBE (high dose) could significantly ameliorate joint swelling and arthritis index, effectively inhibit synovial hyperplasia, down-regulate the levels of MDA, NO, OH*, ALP, AST, ALT, NAG, SA, IL-1, IL-6, TNF-α and up-regulate the SOD and GSH levels in serum.
CONCLUSIONThe results suggested BBE possesses substantial anti-arthritis and antioxidant activities.
