1.Salveanolic acid B promotes the mobilization and adhesion of endothelial progenitor cells
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2017;21(21):3352-3357
BACKGROUND:Vascular endothelial injury usually appears following atherosclerosis, hypertension, diabetes mellitus and other diseases, which can be repaired by endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) in the systemic circulation. OBJECTIVE:To study the effect of salveanolic acid B on the mobilization and adhesion of EPCs in mice. METHODS:Thirty C57BL/6 mice were selected and randomly divided into surgical and non-surgical groups, (n=15 per group). Common carotid arteries of mice in the surgical group were injured by iron wire, then were subdivided into three groups (n=5 per group), and were given the injection of 5% of glucose (control group), 100 g/L salveanolic acid B and 10 μmol/L vascular endothelial growth factor, respectively. Meanwhile, the mice in the non-surgical group received the same assignment and treatment, but the common carotid arteries were not injured. After consecutive 7-day administration, the EPCs in the peripheral blood of the mice were isolated, and the EPCs adhesion was tested by flow chamber experiment. The serum levels of stromal cell-derived factor-1 and interleukin-8 were detected by ELISA kits. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The proportion of EPCs in the surgical group was significantly increased compared with the non-surgical group (P < 0.05). After 7-day administration, the proportion of EPCs in the salveanolic acid B and vascular endothelial growth factor subgroups of the surgical group was significantly higher than that in the control subgroup (P < 0.05); the proportion of EPCs in the vascular endothelial growth factor subgroup of the non-surgical group was significantly higher than that in the control and salveanolic acid B subgroups (P < 0.05). Flow chamber experiment revealed that the number of EPCs in the salveanolic acid B subgroup was significantly more than that in the control subgroup (P < 0.05). In the surgical group, the serum levels of stromal cell-derived factor-1 and interleukin-8 in the in the salveanolic acid B and vascular endothelial growth factor subgroups were significantly higher than those in the control subgroup (P < 0.05); in the non-surgical group, the serum levels of stromal cell-derived factor-1 and interleukin-8 in the in the vascular endothelial growth factor subgroup were significantly higher than those in the control subgroup (P < 0.05). To conclude, salveanolic acid B can increase the efficiency of the EPCs mobilization in bone marrowin vivo, help the EPCs adhere to the collagen surface, and upregulate the serum levels of stromal cell-derived factor-1 and interleukin-8.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2010;16(11):1012-1014
ObjectiveTo explore the relationship between rotary strength of trunks and stability of the low back in patients with nonspecific low back pain. MethodsBefore sling exercise therapy (SET), 22 patients with chronic nonspecific low back pain were measured the rotary strength of core muscles of trunks with Proxomed Tergumed functional spinal evaluation and training system and the core stability of the low back with SET system. Their correlation was analyzed. ResultsThe core rotary strength was positively correlated with the local stability in patients with chronic nonspecific low back pain (r=0.876, P<0.001). ConclusionIncreasing the rotary strength of trunks is important to improve local stability in patients with chronic nonspecific low back pain.

AIM: To study the DNA fingerprinting of crude and processed Atractylodes lancea. METHODS: DNA fingerprinting of samples of crude and processed Atractylodes lancea were examined by RAPD. RESULTS: All crude Atractylodes lancea showed similar fingerprinting characteristics, while the processed Atractylodes lancea products indicated considerable different results. CONCLUSION: DNA fingerprinting is a reliable method for di-(fferentiating) crude Atractylodes lancea.

Objective To compare the application value and the clinical curative effect of longitudinal incision and tarsal sinus minimal-ly invasive approach in treatment of patients with intra-articular calcaneal fractures. Methods A retrospective statistical analysis was made by collecting and comparing the clinical data of 67 patients with intra-articular calcaneal fractures from March 2008 to March 2012,and they were divided into the longitudinal incision minimally invasive approach group ( ZW group,36 patients,37 feet) and the tarsal sinus minimally invasive approach group ( FW group,31 patients,33 feet) . The Bohler angle, Gissane angle before and after operation, complications healing time, and AOFAS scores were compared. Results The healing time,Bohler angle,Gissane angle of ZW group and other indicators were better than those of the FW group, but there was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0. 05). The infection of incision and compli-cations in ZW group was obviously less than those of the FW group (P<0. 05). According to the AOFAS scoring system,ZW group scored 82. 49 points while FW group scored 86. 53 points, which indicated no statistical significance (P>0. 05). Conclusion The two kinds of treatments are of no obvious difference, but the longitudinal small incision minimally invasive approach could receive better effect in terms of soft tissue damage, healing time, and postoperative complications.

Plantar pressure distribution can reflect the force of several key points on foot while standing and walking. A comprehensive understanding of the plantar pressure distribution makes great sense in the following aspects: the understanding of the normal foot biomechanics and function, clinical diagnosis, measurement of disease extent, postoperative efficacy evaluation, and rehabilitation research. A simple plantar pressure measurement device was designed in this study. This paper uses FlexiForce flexible sensor to pickup plantar pressure signal and USB A/D board to do data acquisition. The data are transferred into a laptop and processed by a VB-based software which can display, remember and replay the data. We chose patients with hallux valgus and normal people to measure the pressure distribution and make contrast analysis of plantar pressure with this device. It can be concluded that people with hallux valgus have higher pressure on the second metatarsophalangeal joint and the distribution move outward. The plantar pressure of patients postoperative could be greatly improved compared to the preoperative. The function of this device has been confirmed.

Objective To understand the situation of college students' awareness about innovative credit, analyze the influencing factors, in order to provide a scientific basis for constructing innovation credits and promoting the double strategy. Method The undergraduates of a medical university who were still at school in April 2015 were selected, and by using a stratified cluster sampling method, 450 students were chosen to be conducted by self-administered questionnaire survey to understand the cognitive status of in-novation of credit system in college students. Chi square test was used to compare the passing rates of students in different demographic characteristics, and the relationship between scores was analyzed by linear regression analysis. Result A total of 439 valid questionnaires were collected , and the total scores of innovative knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of 439 undergraduates were 15.95% (70/439), 36.44% (160/439) and 32.80%(144/439) respectively. In the part of knowledge innovation credits, girls' passing rate was higher than boys ( χ2=4.010,P=0.045. In the part of attitude, high grade group students had more positive attitude than the low grade group of students ( χ2=6.227,P=0.0013). In the part of behavior; higher grade students with innovative credits had higher pass rates than those in lower grades (chi, 2=7.781, P=0.005), and boys had a higher rate of passing than girls ( χ2=6.658,P=0.010). The total score of knowledge was positively linear with the total score of attitude and behavior. Conclusion College Students' awareness of innovation credit rate is low, but the innovative attitude and behavior is positive. The higher the awareness rate is conducive to the cultivation of attitude and behavior, so it is necessary in medical colleges to carry out innovation of credit and promote the cultivation of innovative consciousness.
