1.Study of Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stem Cells Differentiated into Neuron-like Cells Induced by Ganglioside in Vitro

Objective To investigate the possibility that bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) differentiated into neuron-like cells induced by ganglioside in vitro.Methods BMSCs were separated, cultured and differentiate into neuron-like cells induced by ganglioside. Neuro-specific enolase (NSE) and neurofilament (NF) on the surface of differentiated and induced BMSCs were detected by immunocytochemistry.Results BMSCs were induced to differentiate into the cells with a typical neuronal morphology. The induced neuron-like cells expressed NSE and NF.Conclusion BMSCs can be differentiated into neuron-like cells by induction of ganglioside in vitro.
2.Effects of Myelotomy on Autophagy in Injured Spinal Cord in Rats

Objective To observe the effects of myelotomy on autophagy activation after traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI) in rats. Methods 54 adult female Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned to sham-operated group (SG, n=18), contusion group (CG, n=18) or myelotomy group (MTG, n=18). The T10 SCI model in rats was induced with a New York University (NYU) impactor and myelotomy was performed 24 hours after SCI. They were evaluated with the BBB score 1, 7, 14 days after injury. The expression of mRNA of Beclin-1 and Bcl-2 were detected with real-time quantitative reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The formation of autophagosome was investigated under electronic microscope (EM) 3 days after injury. Results BBB score was more in the MTG than in the CG 7 and 14 days after injury (P<0.05), while the expression of Beclin-1 mRNA was less (P<0.05). The expression of Bcl-2 mRNA was more in the MTG than in the CG 3 and 7 days after injury (P<0.05). The expression of Beclin-1 mRNA was negatively correlated with BBB scores (P< 0.05). The formation of autophagosome was less in the MTG than in the CG. Conclusion Myelotomy can improve the recovery of motor function in rats after acute traumatic SCI, which may associate with neuroprotection mediated by inhibition of autophagy through the Bcl-2 signaling pathway.
3.Recent advance in clinical application of contrast-enhanced ultrasound in intracranial surgery

In recent years, application of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in intracranial surgery has been increasing. In brain tumor surgery, CEUS is used to estimate the location of lesions and maximal extents of resection. In intracranial arteriovenous malformations surgery, CEUS evaluates the abnormal blood vessels and flow rate and changes of cerebral blood perfusion before and after cerebral revascularization. In traumatic brain surgery, CEUS is helpful in identifying functional brain tissues from necrotic brain tissues and detecting the hematoma scopes. In this paper, principle of CEUS in monitoring cerebral blood flow and its clinical application in intracranial surgery are reviewed, in order to promote the application of CEUS noninvasively in intracranial surgery and benefit patients.
4.Bioequivalence Study of Clobazam Tablet in Chinese Healthy Subjects

Objective To study the pharmacokinetic characteristics of clobazam tablet in Chinese healthy subjects and evaluate the bioequivalence of test preparation(T)and reference preparation(R)under fasting or fed conditions.Methods A randomized,open-label,single-dose,two-period,two-way crossover bioequivalence trial was performed.34 healthy subjects were enrolled in fasting study and 30 in fed study.Each subjects received a single dose of T 20 mg or R 20 mg with a washout period of 28 days.Plasma concentrations of clobazam and its active metabolite,N-desmethylclobazam were determined by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(LC-MS/MS).The pharmacokinetic parameters of clobazam and N-desmethylclobazam were calculated by non-compartment model.Geometric mean values for the T/R ratios of clobazam's main pharmacokinetic parameters and their corresponding 90 percent confidence intervals(CI)were evaluated to assess bioequivalence of the two preparations.Results In fasting study,the 90 percent CI of the geometric mean values for the T/R ratios were 94.46 to 103.82 percent for Cmax,99.64 to 103.62 percent for AUC0-tand 99.39 to 103.51 percent for AUC0-∞,respectively.In fed study,the 90 percent CI of the geometric mean values for the T/R ratios of were 93.86 to 106.02 percent for Cmax,100.37 to 104.51 percent for AUC0-tand 100.71 to 104.63 percent for AUC0-∞,respectively.Conclusion In this study,the 90 percent CI of the geometric mean values of Cmax,AUC0-tand AUC0-∞ for T/R ratios were all within the acceptable bioequivalence limits of 80 to 125 percent for clobazam.Therefore two formulations were considered bioequivalent.
5.Bibliometrics of China Rehabilitation Medicine Literature: Based on Science Citation Index

Objective To investigate the scholarly condition of China rehabilitation medicine in the world. Methods Based on Journal Citation Reports and Web of Science databases, the literatures of rehabilitation medicine were surveyed by countries and by years, especially those from China published in 2007 to 2011. Results and Conclusion The number and cited times of Chinese rehabilitation medicine literatures increased quickly. Hong Kong was on the top of China. For the universities of inland, Sun Yat-sen University, Capital Medical University and Nanjing Medical University were on the tops. The top fields of research were neurological rehabilitation, sports rehabilitation, rehabilitation therapy, etc.
