3. Role of SUMO-specific proteases in tumor biological behavior

SUMOylation is a dynamically reversible process that needs to be modified by a specific ligase, while its inverse reaction deSUMOylation is catalyzed by a group of SUMO-specific proteases (SENPs). SUMO-modified target protein molecules are closely related to development and disease, especially tumor, metabolism, inflammation and immunity. SENPs play an important role in SUMO protein maturation and deSUMOylation. This review discussed the functions of SENPs in the development and progression of tumors and related mechanisms.

5.Effect of Wenmaitong on adhesion of monocytes to vascular endothelial cell induced by hyperlipidemic serum.

OBJECTIVETo study the effect of Wenmaitong (WMT) and its disassembled formulas on the adhesion of monocytes to endothelial cells induced by hyperlipidemic serum to explore the mechanism of WMT on early arteriosclerosis obliterans (ASO).
METHODSSerums containing whole WMT and its disassembled formulas, including the formula consisted of warming Jing and boosting qi part (Wenjin Yiqi, WY) and that of promoting blood circulation part (Huoxue Tongmai, HT), as well as the serum contained high concentration of lipids were prepared conventionally, respectively. The adhesion of monocytes cell strain THP-1 to human umbilical vascular endothelial cells (HUVEC) was determined by rose bengal stain method, and ELISA was used to detect expressions of intercellular adhesion molecule (ICAM-1), vascular cellular adhesion molecule (VCAM-1) and P-selectin on HUVEC surface.
RESULTSWMT could inhibit THP-1 to HUVEC adhesion induced by hyperlipidemic serum, and down-regulate the expression of ICAM-1, VCAM-1, P-selectin on HUVEC surface, the two disassembled formulas could down-regulate different adhesion molecules.
CONCLUSIONOne mechanism of WMT on ASO may be its inhibition on arteriosclerosis by way of down-regulating the expression of vascular endothelial cells adhesion molecules to decrease the adhesion of monocyte to VEC, therefore to inhibit the monocytes migrating into vascular intima to develop foam cells.

7.Comparative study of Buyang Huanwu Decoction and the different combinations of its ingredients on neurogenesis following ischemic stroke in rats.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect of Buyang Huanwu Decoction (BYHWD) and the different combinations of its ingredients on neurogenesis following ischemic stroke in rats.
METHODSThe model rats of ischemic stroke was established by blocking cerebral media artery with electrocoagulation through craniectomy, and electric stimulation, given from 24 h after blocking, 2 h daily for 15 successive days. They were divided into four groups, Group A treated with saline, Group B treated with BYHWD, Group C treated with BYHWD but earthworm subtracted, and Group D treated with Danggui Buxue Decoction (DGBXD). The expression of 5-bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) in cerebral tissue was determined by immunohistochemical method.
RESULTSLarge amount of BrdU immunoreactive cells presented in the hippocampal region of rats in Group B and C, densely arranged, partial in cluster, with the figure significantly different to that in Group A (P < 0.01), and the amount in the ischemic side was significantly more than that in the opposite side (P < 0.05). While comparing between Group A and D, the amount of BrdU immunoreactive cells in the hippocampal region showed insignificant difference (P > 0.05).
CONCLUSIONBYHWD has a effect in promoting neurogenesis better than DGBXD.

8.Expression and significance of Toll-like receptor 2 in peripheral blood monocytes of rheumatoid arthritis patients

Objective To examine the expression of toll-like receptor 2(TLR2)in peripheral blood monocytes and explore its association with disease stages and clinical manifestations and to explore the patho- genesis of rheumatoid arthritis(RA).Methods The expression of toll-like receptor 2 in peripheral blood monocytes from 47 RA patientis(27 in active stage and 20 in stable stage)and 18 normal individuals were de- tected by flowcytometry and RT-PCR.Results The expression of toll-like receptor 2 in peripheral blood monocytes in patients with active disease was significantly increased compared to non-active patients and nor- mal individuals,The expression was found to correlate with the Disease Active Score(DAS),serum C-reactive protein(CRP)level and the erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),but not correlate with rheumatoid factor (RF)and the anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide(CCP)antibody.Conclusion The expression of toll-like recep- tor 2 in peripheral blood monocytes of patients with active RA is significantly increased.And the expression is correlated with disease activity index.The innate immune system is activated in patients with active disease. And the increased expression may promote the activities of monocytes.

?Smart phones as a symbol of the mobile Internet appears in college classroom, which is not only a challenge, but also a great opportunities of education information. This paper applied smart phones as the carrier of the Internet into ophthalmology classroom. Smart phones has a lot of features, such as rich teaching resources, diverse learning methods, flexible learning time, collating and recording capabilities and the timely, comprehensive and accurate teaching feedback so on, and could be used in case teaching and interactive teaching. The implementation of smart phones into ophthalmology classroom could inspire the learning enthusiasm of the students, enhance the quality of teaching, eventually improve teaching effects.
10.Distribution and change of poor vision among school students aged 6-19 in Hainan Province, 2013-2020

Abstract: Objective To explore the regional, age and annual characteristics of distribution and variation trend of children and adolescents with poor vision in Hainan Province, and to provide a theoretical basis for the formulation of targeted and effective prevention and treatment strategies. Methods The eyesight monitoring data of 5 657 231 children and adolescents aged 6 to 19 from 17 cities and counties in Hainan Province from 2013 to 2020 were analyzed. Using the "Standard Logarithmic Vision Chart" (GB11533-2011) that complies with national standards for testing. Results The rate of poor vision among children and adolescents in Hainan Province increased significantly from 2013 to 2020, and the difference between the years was statistically significant (P<0.001). The total poor vision rate in the left eye increased 10.09% (32.79% to 42.88%), and that of severe poor vision rate increased 6.68%, while that of the right eye increased 9.80% (33.11% to 42.91%) and 6.49%. The poor vision rate was significantly higher in females than in males of same year (P<0.001), but the increase pattern was the same. In 2020, there were significant differences between the same age groups in different cities and counties and between different age groups in the same city and county (P<0.001), and they all tended to increase with age. The result of analyzing the distribution characteristics of the total poor vision rate of different age groups children in the eastern (Qionghai), southern (Sanya), western (Changjiang), northern (Haikou) and central (Dingan) cities showed that the regional rate difference was small at 6-7 years old, and then increased with the increase of age. The poor vision rate of Haikou City ranked the first in all age groups, and reached the highest at 17 years old, with 76.32% and 80.89% of total poor vision rate of left and right eyes respectively. Sanya City ranked second, Qionghai ranked third. The poor vision rate of Changjiang County was lower and the growth rate was slower according to age. Conclusions From 2013 to 2020, the total and severe poor vision rates in left and right eyes of children aged 6-19 in Hainan Province increased year by year, with the ascension range of female higher than that of male, and right eye higher than that of left eye. In the same year, the poor vision rate increase rapidly with age. It is recommended to further strengthen the daily intervention and management of key populations and special age groups to reduce the rate of low vision in children and adolescents.
