1.On teachers' role In guiding the English learners' strategies
Journal of Chongqing Medical University 2000;25(z1):111-113
This article discusses the teachers' role in guiding the students' learning strategies in the different periods of English learning and how to guide them. It points out that teachers should guide the students to use metacognitive strategy to plan, manage, arrange and evaluate their English learning according to the different goals and requirements in each learning period. They should also help the students use cognitive approach to analyze and sum up the language rules, and train them to acquire the ability to get the information quickly and to communicate well.
2.Cultivation of oral communication competence in English teaching in universities
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2006;0(08):-
Cultivating stuedents’Englsih oral communication competence is one of the goals and tasks of college English teaching. Therefore teachers should create the student-centered communication settings to strengthen the students’training in spoken English both in and after class to enhance the students’spoken English and communication competence.
3.The impact of English and Chinese differences on English writing
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2006;0(07):-
The article analyzed the impact on English writing made by the differences between English and Chinese, pointing out that in teaching English writing we should stress enlightening students to compare the differences between Chinese and English and help them overcome their mother tongue's negative transfer.
4.A metaphoric cognitive view on English vocabulary learning
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2005;0(06):-
The paper discusses the metaphor theory of cognitive linguistics as well as its significance in English vacabulary learning and points out that applying metaphor theory of cognitive linguistics to vocabulary learning can not only make vocabulary learning more accord with cognitive law but also make it easy and interesting to learn and get good results.
5.Goal Management and English Achievements -Teachers' Role in Stimulating Students Motivation and Goal Management
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2002;0(01):-
Based on the theories of goals and motivation, the author conducted a study on the management of goals and English achievements, in which the subjects were 470 medical students. Its main purposes were :1. to find out the relationship between motivation, esp. achievement goals and English achievements , 2.to see whether teachers play an important role in stimulating students' study motivation and participating in the management of goals. The findings show that students' English achievements are closely connected with their achievement goals, and teachers' participation in the management of goals and stimulating students' motivation have an active effect on the students' English achievements.
6.Reflection on the Sustainable Ability of the English Teachers in Medical Universities
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2006;0(07):-
The article analyzed the trend of international teachers' education and the necessity of training English teachers in medical universities to have sustainable ability. It pointed out that the effective way of the teacher development is to help them have the belief in life-long study, strengthen their consciousness and capability of autonomous development of their specialty, set up the system of teacher cultivation and training, and create the atmosphere of democracy and progression.

Objective We aimed to describe the application value of continuous glucose monitoring system in patients with advanced gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Methods Pregant women in the medium and late pregant phases (24~35 weeks) underwent GDM screen test from January 2006 to April 2007. They first received 50 g glucose challenge test and 100g OGTT was performed 3 days later when the blood glucose was higher than or equal to 7.8mmol/L. According to the diagnostic criteria from American Diabetes Mellitus (ADA) 47 women were diagnosed to possess GDM and they were further divided into the test group (25 cases) and the control group (22 cases). The test group received 72 hours continuous glucose monitoring (CGMS). The control group adopted peripheral blood glucose monitoring using blood from the fingertip, 7 times per day. Results There were no records of consciousness hypoglycemic symptoms and hypoglycemia during monitoring. The CGMS data suggested that the record of the percent of high blood glucose was (17.5±3.1)%, percent of low blood glucose was (2.4±0.9)%, which were higher than those of the control group, which were (14.3±2.2)% and 0. Conclusions We recommend pregant women with GDM to undergo CGMS while using peripheral blood glucose monitoring with blood from the fingertip. It could systemicly evaluate the real control condition of blood glucose and ensure the safety of both mothers and babies.

The banana Fusarium wilt (BFW) caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense tropical race4 (FocTR4) is difficult to control worldwide, which causes a huge economic losse to banana industry. The purpose of this study was to screen Trichoderma strains with antagonistic activity against FocTR4, to isolate and purify the active compound from the fermentation broth, so as to provide important biocontrol strains and active compound resources. In this work, Trichoderma strains were isolated and screened from the rhizosphere soil of crops, and the strains capable of efficiently inhibiting FocTR4 were screened by plate confrontation, and further confirmed by testing inhibition for the conidial germination and mycelial growth of FocTR4. The phylogenetic tree clarified the taxonomic status of the biocontrol strains. Moreover, the active components in the fermentation broth of the strains were separated and purified by column chromatography, the structure of the most active component was analyzed by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR), the BFW control effect was tested by pot experiments. We obtained a strain JSHA-CD-1003 with antagonistic activity against FocTR4, and the inhibition rate from plate confrontation was 60.6%. The fermentation broth of JSHA-CD-1003 completely inhibited the germination of FocTR4 conidia within 24 hours. The inhibition rate of FocTR4 hyphae growth was 52.6% within 7 d. A phylogenetic tree was constructed based on the ITS and tef1-α gene tandem sequences, and JSHA-CD-1003 was identified as Trichoderma brevicompactum. Purification and NMR identification showed that the single active compound was trichodermin, and the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was 25 μg/mL. Pot experiments showed that the fermentation broth of strain JSHA-CD-1003 was effective against BFW. The control rate of leaf yellowing was 47.4%, and the rate of bulb browning was 52.0%. Therefore, JSHA-CD-1003 effectively inhibited FocTR4 conidial germination and mycelium growth through producing trichodermin, and showed biocontrol effect on banana wilt caused by FocTR4, thus is a potential biocontrol strain.
