1.Aberrant gap junction and tumor
Journal of International Oncology 2011;38(8):582-585
Gap junctions are membrane structures made of intercellular channels that allow directly exchange of material and information between adjacent cells. It is the structural basis of gap junctional intercellular communication. Gap junction is aberrant frequently in variety of cancers, which relatives with tumor genesis and metastasis. New anti-cancer drugs targeting gap junctions will be a new direction for tumor treatment.
2.Effect of intellectual activity on cognitive function of elderly
Chongqing Medicine 2014;(16):1983-1984,1987
Objective To observe the effect of intellectual activity on the cognitive function of the elderly. Methods The longi-tudinal follow-up study and the cross-sectional study were undertaken among physical examination people. The intellectual activity group (92 cases, more than 60 years old)often to take part in any one or more of the following activities for 5 years and above:pla-ying chess, playing the game of go,playing mahjong, playing cards, playing checkers, calligraphy, painting, reading, etc. The frequen-cy of intellectual activity was more than once per week at least.According to gender, age and educational level,92 cases were screened out as the control group and the control group was not to take part in above-mentioned intellectual activities or occasionally attend. The respondents had no baseline cognitive impairment.MoCA,MMSE,ADL and self-made questionnaire were adopted to conduct the evaluation. One year later when health check-up,the above-mentioned scales were used to evaluate again. The score changes were compared between the control group and experimental group. Results When enrolling, there was no significant differences in the MoCA scores,MMSE scores and ADL scores between the two groups. One year later, the comparison of the MMSE scores and ADL scores between the control group and experimental group had no significant difference (P>0.05).The Mo-CA scores manifested 2 cases (2.2%)of below the critical value of cognitive impairment in the experimental group and 6 cases (6.5%)in the control group, reaching the mild cognitive impairment(MCI)standards, the difference between the two groups showed the statistical significance (P<0.05).Conclusion The intellectual activity may be beneficial for the prevention of cognitive decline of the elderly and the MoCA scale is more suitable for screening MCI.
3.Expression and significance of interleukin-34 level in patients with Henoch-Schoenlein purpura
Chinese Journal of Immunology 2017;33(3):433-436
Objective:To investigate the serum level of IL-34 in patients with acute phase Henoch-Schoenlein purpura ( HSP) and its potential significance .Methods:38 HSP patients were recruited ,together with 21 healthy volunteers as control .The serum level of IL-34,IL-6 and TNF-αwere determined using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) or chemiluminescence. The correlation analysis was performed to explore the correlation of IL-34 with clinical parameters and the serum level of IL-6,TNF-α.Results:The se-rum levels of IL-34,IL-6 and TNF-αin HSP patients were significantly higher as compared to the control group (P<0.001).The serum level of IL-34 was positively correlated with that of high sensitive C-reactive protein ( hs-CRP) and IL-6 ( r=0.453 ,P=0.004 and r=0.469,P=0.003,respectively).Conclusion:IL-34 might be involved in the pathogenesis of HSP ,and the potential mechanisms of ac-tion is associated with the aberrant expression of pro-inflammatory factors in HSP ,which promote the development of inflammation in the vascular system.
4.Analysis of VOCs in the headspace of SHI-1 acute mononuclear leukemia cell
Acta Universitatis Medicinalis Anhui 2014;(10):1409-1412,1413
Objective To find out the impact of SHI-1 cells on VOCs in the headspace, and to assess the feasibili-ty of VOCs analysis in leukemia patients or with other tumors in the differential diagnosis by determing VOCs in the headspace of acute mononuclear leukemia cells(SHI-1). Methods The air samples from the headspace of SHI-1, Human macrophages cells and medium control were collected by syringes, and then determined by means of solid phase microextraction-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry ( SPME-GC/MS ) in order to have a better under-standing of the concentration distributions and changes of VOCs in SHI-1 cells' headspace. Results Using Mann-Whitney U test, we found that eight kinds of VOCs were different among them. They were 2,4-dimethyl heptanes, 4-methyl octane, chloroform, benzene, 3,7-dimethyl dodecanese, hexanol, cyclohexanol, cetane. And alkane, benzene were significantly higher than the control group ( P<0.05 ) , alcohol decreased significantly ( P<0.05 ) . Conclusion SHI-1 cells have an impact on the concentration distributions of VOCs in their headspace. The most outstanding VOCs are alkanes, alcohol and benzene compared with the blank control group. They may be potential markers characteristic of leukemia cells.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 1996;0(02):-
Objective:To evaluate the quality and the effectiveness of therapeutic studies on chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy-induced oral mucositis published in Chinese journals by means of evidence-based medicine. Methods:Relevant papers were searched in Chinese Biological Medical Disc (CBMDisc)database and China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI) database. Papers using randomized controlled trials (RCT) were identified and analyzed according to the international standards of evidence-based medicine. Results:There were totally 98 articles focusing on therapeutic studies of chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy-induced oral mucositis and only 22 of them met RCT criteria. Study design, diagnostic standards, therapeutic effects and adverse effects decribed in those 22 papers were fully evaluated by means of evidence-based medicine. Conclusions:Research quality of the analyzed papers could not meet clinical needs and Meta analysis could not been done due to their low quantity and poor quality. However, as far as the published articles concerned, GM-CSF showed a good short-term treatment effect.

Journal of International Oncology 2014;41(10):724-726
Chemokine CCL18 plays significant roles in immune regulation by recruiting of inflammatory cells, which involves in immune and inflammatory processes.CCL18 protein is overexpressed in the serum of patients with cancer and some tumor tissues. However,it is still controversial that CCL18 plays the role of tumor promoter or tumor suppressor.Researches on the roles and mechanisms of CCL18 can provide new target for diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
