1.Determination of serum osteopontin in pulmonary tuberculosis patients and its clinical significance
Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2012;35(1):36-39
ObjectiveTo investigate osteopontin (OPN) level in pulmonary tuberculosis and its clinical significance.MethodsThe level of serum OPN was determined in 80 pulmonary tuberculosis patients before anti-tuberculosis treatment[patients group, simple pulmonary tuberculosis with 60 cases (simple pulmonary tuberculosis group),pulmonary tuberculosis combined with tuberculous pleurisy with 20cases (pulmonary tuberculosis combined with tuberculous pleurisy group)],and compared with that of 30healthy persons (healthy control group) and 20 patients having received effective anti-tuberculosis treatment and followed-up for 6 months (followed-up group). At the same time, the clinical significance of OPN was studied by other commonly used clinical indicators of tuberculosis.ResultsThe level of serum OPN in patients group [(843.49 ±569.23) ng/L] was significantly higher than that in healthy control group [(352.50 ± 185.02) ng/L,P <0.05].The level of serum OPN after treatment in followed-up group were significantly decreased compared with those before treatment [(494.11 ±352.40) ng/L vs.(1106.60 ± 628.39) ng/L,P< 0.05 ] and there was no significant difference compared with those in healthy control group (P > 0.05 ).The level of serum OPN in pulmonary tuberculosis combined with tuberculous pleurisy group [(1179.80 ±606.33) ng/L] was significantly higher than those in simple pulmonary tuberculosis group [(727.53 ±511.66) ng/L,P <0.05],and they were both higher than those in healthy control group [ ( 352.50 ± 185.02 ) ng/L,P < 0.05 ].Therefore, for further additional subgroup analysis in simple pulmonary tuberculosis group, the level of serum OPN in patients with cavity[ ( 836.51 ± 549.80) ng/L ] was significantly higher than that without cavity [ (535.52 ± 375.95 ) ng/L,P < 0.05 ],while the levels of serum OPN had no statistical difference between pulmonary lesion involved < 3 leaf patients and ≥ 3 leaf patients, sputum mycobacterium tuberculosis positive patients and negative patients, mycoDot test results positive patients and negative patients, erythrocyte sedimentation rate elevated patients and normal patients,PPD strongly positive patients and non-strongly positive patients (P>0.05).ConclusionsOPN activity is closely related with pulmonary tuberculosis.OPN can serve as a judge of pulmonary tuberculosis and the clinical indicators of disease outcome. The level of serum OPN and the severity of pulmonary tuberculosis have some correlations.
2.Effect of Acupuncture plus Psychological Intervention on 5-HT, OFQ and E2in Patients with Postpartum Depression
Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2015;(10):947-950
ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture plus psychological intervention in treating postpartum depression and its effect on 5-hydroxy tryptamine (5-HT), orphanin FQ (OFQ) and estrodiol (E2).MethodTotally 158patients with postpartum depression were randomized into an acupuncture group, a psychological intervention group, and a treatment group, 52 cases in the acupuncture group, and 53 cases respectively in the psychological intervention group and treatment group. The acupuncture group was given acupuncture, the psychological intervention group was given psychological intervention, while the treatment group was given acupuncture plus psychological intervention. After 6-week treatment, the clinical efficacies, the Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) score, Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS) score, Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) score, 5-HT, OFQ, and E2were observed.ResultThe total effective rate was 92.5% in the treatment group, versus 79.2% in the psychological intervention group and 76.9% in the acupuncture group. TheRiditanalysis showed that the therapeutic efficacy of the treatment group was significantly superior to that of the psychological intervention group and acupuncture group (P<0.05), while there was no significant difference between the acupuncture group and psychological intervention group (P>0.05). After treatment, the HAMD score, SAS score, SDS score, 5-HT, OFQ, and E2levels were significantly different from those in the acupuncture group (P<0.01); after treatment, the HAMD score, SAS score, SDS score, 5-HT, OFQ, and E2levels of the treatment group were significantly different from those in the psychological intervention group (P<0.01); after treatment, the HAMD score, 5-HT, OFQ, and E2levelsof the psychological intervention group were insignificantly different from those of the acupuncture group (P>0.05), while there were significant differences in comparing the SAS and SDS scores between the two groups (P<0.01).ConclusionAcupuncture plus psychological intervention can markedly enhance the clinical efficacy in treating postpartum depression, improving HAMD score, decreasing SAS and SDS scores, and regulating the 5-HT, OFQ, and E2levels.
3.Therapeutic Observation of Electroacupuncture plus Umbilical Moxibustion for Gastrointestinal Dysfunction after Gynecological Abdominal Operation
Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2015;(11):1076-1079
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of electroacupuncture plus umbilical moxibustion in treating gastrointestinal dysfunction after gynecological abdominal operation.Method Totally 112 eligible patients undergone gynecological operation were randomized into group A of 37 cases, group B of 38 cases, and group C of 37 cases. Group A was intervened by electroacupuncture, group B was by umbilical moxibustion, while group C was by electroacupuncture plus umbilical moxibustion. After a treatment course, the symptom scores, restored time of bowel sounds, anal exhaust time, motilin (MTL), gastrin (GAS), and vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) contents were observed and compared, and the clinical efficacies were compared between the two groups.Result The symptom scores of the three groups were significantly changed after the intervention (P<0.05). After the treatment, the symptom score of group C was significantly different from that of group A and B (P<0.05). The restored time of bowel sounds and anal exhaust time in group C were significantly different from that of group A and B (P<0.05). The MTL, GAS, and VIP contents of the three groups were significantly changed after the intervention (P<0.05). The MTL, GAS, and VIP contents of group C were markedly different from that of group A and B (P<0.05). The total effective rate was 86.5% in group A, versus 81.6% in group B and 97.3% in group C. The total effective rate of group C was significantly different from that of group A and B (P<0.05).Conclusion Electroacupuncture plus umbilical moxibustion is effective in treating gastrointestinal dysfunction after gynecological abdominal operation.
4.Relationship of Janus Kinase-Signal Transducers and Activator of Transcription Signal Transduction and Neurogenesis in Neonatal Rats with Periventricular Leukomalacia
Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2006;0(20):-
Objective To observe the relationship of the Janus kinase-signal transducers and activator of transcription pathway and neurogenesis in the lateral ventricle subventricular zone(SVZ) and choroid plexus of neonatal rats with periventricular leukomalacia(PVL).Methods PVL models were established by right common carotid artery ligation followed by 4 h 60 mL/L oxygen exposure in 2-day-rat;the neonatal rats performed a sham operation, without hypoxia-ischemia were used as control group. The rats were sacrificed at 0 h,3 h,6 h,12 h,1 d,3 d and 7 d after hypoxic-ischemic(HI),and brain tissues were collected, immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of P-STAT3 and Nestin in the subventricular zone and choroid plexus. Results Very low expressions of P-STAT3 and Nestin were observed in lateral ventricle SVZ and choroid plexus in control group. The expression levels of P-STAT3 and Nestin increased significantly after HI,peaked at 1 d and 3 d separately, and remained at a higher level at 7 d after HI,demonstrating significant differences at each time point compared with those in control group(Pa
