Stable and reliable animal models are required for preclinical studies of new drugs .In this article , we reviewed the rodent models associated with positive symptoms , negative symptoms and cognitive impairment of schizophrenia and the behavioral evaluation on these models , hoping to provide useful references of animal models for the antipsychotic drug screening and preclinical studies .

Aim To evaluate the effects of fibrinolytic enzyme FⅡ from agkistrodon acutus venom on an experimental model of kidney thrombus induced by lipopolysaccharide(LPS). Methods The model of microvascular thrombosis in the rabbits kidney was performed by the method of Hermida, which was induced by infusing LPS. Treatments were begun simultaneously with LPS infusion, through the contralateral marginal ear vein. Six different groups were established: NS 10 ml?h~-1 was infused as the negative control group, urokinase ~20 000 IU?kg~-1 ?h~-1 as positive control group, FⅡwas infused with the dosage of 0.1(Low-dose), 0.3 (medium-dose),0.6 (high-dose) mg?kg~-1 ?h~-1 . The further rabbits, which were given neither LPS nor FⅡ, were infused with saline solution through both marginal ear veins. Kinney sections were examined for the presence of fibrin microthrombi. The measurement of FDP concentrations was used to assess the degradation of microvascular thrombosis. Results Intense fibrin deposition was also detected and FDP concentrations were (78.21?4.79)% and (84.27?6.21)% at 2 and 6 hours after LPS administration in LPS-control group. Little fibrin deposition was detected and FDP concentration also increased in urokinase control group. A lot of fibrin deposition was detected in Low-dose FⅡ group,little fibrin deposition was detected in medium-dose FⅡ group, and no fibrin deposition was detected in high-dose FⅡ group. Objective To investigate the effects of icariin, a major active component of traditional Chinese herb Epimedium on schizo-phrenia animal model. Methods MK-801, a N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist, was intraperitoneally injected into mice to establish a schizophrenia animal model. The open field behavior test infrared detection system was used to measure the mobility of mice in order to find the best optimal dose. 40 mice were randomly divided in to control group, model group, risperidone group and icariin group with 10 mice in each group. The risperidone group and the icariin group were given 0.1 mg/kg risperidone and 50 mg/kg icariin respectively. All groups were injected with 0.6 mg/kg MK-801 0.1 ml intraperitoneally, except the control group. The total distance and the central dis-tance within 210 minutes were tested. Results The total distance and the central distance were significantly longer in the model group than in the control group (P<0.001), and were shorter in the risperidone group than in the control group (P<0.05). The total distance was shorter in the icariin group than in the model group, but there was no significant difference (P=0.065); and the central distance was shorter (P=0.037). There was no significant difference in both total distance and the central distance between the risperidone group and the icariin group (P>0.05). Conclusion Icariin may improve the positive and negative symptoms of schizophrenia mice, which may be beneficial to schizo-phrenia therapy.

OBJECTIVE:To estimate the cost-effectiveness of4therapeutic regi mens in the treatment of candidal vaginitis.METHODS:182out-patients with candidal vaginitis in the hospital where the authors worked were randomly di?vided into4groups:baofukang suppository group(A),miconazole suppository+miconazole cream group(B),povidone Iodine ointment group(C),and luohuazizhu suppository group(D),medical economy was applied to analyze the cost-effectiveness.RESULTS:The costs in4groups were56.2yuan,69.4yuan,75.3yuan,and53.9yuan respectively;The effective rates were93.3%,91.3%,91.3,and80.0%respectively;The ratios of cost to effectiveness were0.60,0.76,0.82,and0.67re?spectively;Compared with D,the added cost-effectiveness ratio of A,B,C are0.17,1.37and1.89respectively.CONCLU?SION:Baofukang suppository is a preferable drug to treat candidal vaginitis.

Objective To study the early diagnostic indices of melioidosis by analyzing 49 cases. Methods Unconditional logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the clinical data of 49 cases of melioidosis and 98 cases of bacterial pneumonia who were admitted in our hospital and Peoples' Hospital of Hainan Province from December 1996 to December 2007. Their social characteristic,background diseases,clinical manifestations,laboratory findings,radiologic examination and complications were studied. Results Background disease (such as diabetes),hepatosplenomegaly,septic shock,sepsis et al were the main causes of melioidosis. Conclusion Chills,fever,hepatosplenomegaly,diabetes mellitus,septic shock and sepsis are all factors that should be considered with melioidosis.

Breast cancer is one of the most common malignancies happened in female patients.The incidence of breast cancer in Chinese females has increased in recently years.Human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER-2) exhibits gene amplification or high expression of receptor protein in about one third of breast cancer patients.HER-2 positive breast cancer patients has poor prognosis,high risk of recurrence and short survival.Trastuzumab is a specific inhibitor of human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 [1],which has been widely used in the treatment of HER-2-positive breast cancer patients,and trastuzumab molecular targeting therapy compared with the traditional chemotherapy,with the advantages of high specificity and low toxicity.It changes the natural disease progression of patients with HER-2-positive breast cancer and prolongs the patient's survival time.This article will review the researches on the four aspects,which including the development and the application of trastuzumab in the treatment of HER-2 positive breast cancer.
