The newly established genus Pseudoalteromonas has attracted significant interest of more and more researchers by their unique biological characteristics.In this review ,the classification and ecological distribution of Pseudoalteromonas were briefly discussed,then special emphasis placed on the extracellular bioactive agents and their bioactivity of Pseudoalteromonas.Some ideas for further studies on Pseudoalteromonas were also proposed .

Objective To investigate the effect and mechanism of Src kinase in renal interstitial fibrosis of unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO) mice.Methods Male C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into 4 groups,including sham operation group (n=8),sham operation+PP2 group (n=8),UUO operation group (n=8) and UUO operation+PP2 group (n=8).The mice were injected 2 mg/kg PP2 by intraperitoneal everyday after surgery in sham+PP2 group and UUO+PP2 group.PP2 dissolved in 1％ DMSO (formulated with normal saline).Sham and UUO group were given equal 1％ DMSO.The mice were sacrificed at 7th day.Renal collagen was observed with Sirius red stain.The activities of Src,protein kinase B (PKB,AKT),p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38 MAPK),extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) and the protein expressions of α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) and fibronectin (FN) were detected by Western blotting.The expression of collagen I (COL [) was detected by immunohistochemistry and the expressions of matrix metalloprotein 9 (MMP-9),tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase 1 (TIMP-1),transforming growth factor-β31 (TGF-β31),monocyte chemotactic protein-1(MCP-1),interleukin-6 (IL-6) were measured by ELISA.Resuts Compared with sham mice,UUO mice on 7th day displayed obvious renal fibrosis.Meanwhile,UUO mice had increased expressions of COL Ⅰ and FN,and activities of AKT,ERK and p38 MAPK (all P ＜ 0.05).Their renal expressions of α-SMA,TGF-β1,MMP-9,TIMP-1,MCP-1 and IL-6 were also raised (all P ＜ 0.05).Compared with those in UUO group,in UUO + PP2 group the activities of Src,AKT,p38 MAPK and ERK,and expressions of TGF-β1,MCP-1 and IL-6 decreased (all P ＜ 0.05).Additionally,expressions of COL Ⅰ,FN and α-SMA,collagen deposition and renal fibrosis receded in UUO + PP2 group (all P ＜ 0.05).However,the expressions of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 were not influenced by PP2 treatment.Conclusions Src kinase promotes myofibroblasts accumulation and inflammatory reaction through activating its downstream signaling pathway in the progressing of renal interstitial fibrosis.

Objective To investigate the relationship between metabolic syndrome and related factors and recurrence of ischemic stroke.Methods 90 in-and out-patients with ischemic stroke in Jiangbei District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine during May 2013 and May 2014 were enrolled.In 90 cases,4 patients with cerebral hemorrhage were excluded.Basic data of the 86 patients were investigated,which including gender,age,abdominal circumference,smoking,drinking,family history of stroke,diabetes,hypertension,hyperlipidemia,a history of atrial fibrillation,transient ischemic attacks,fasting blood glucose,triglyceride,cholesterol,uric acid,homocysteine,urinary protein-creatine ratio,carotid ultrasound examination.We investigated patients with or without recurrent stroke during one year of telephone visit and follow-up.Patients with recurrent stroke were investigated.Results During the one year follow-up,24 cases in the 86 patients with ischimic stroke were recurrent,the recurrence rate was 27.9 ％.2 cases in the recurrent patients died because of massive cerebral infarction,accounted for 8.3％ of the patients with recurrent stroke.According to Chi-square test,smoking,high fasting plasma blood glucose,hypertension,elevated low density lipoprotein cholesterol,high uric acid,high homocysteine and carotid atherosclerosis all had correlation with recurrent stroke(P＜0.05).In this logistic-regression model,smoking,high fasting plasma blood glucose,hypertension,elevated low density lipoprotein cholesterol,high uric acid,high homocysteine and carotid atherosclerosis were all predictors for recurrence of ischemic stroke.Conclusion Cntrolling the risk factors after the first stroke as a long term strategy has important clinical significance for secondary prevention of ischemic stroke.

OBJECTIVE: To synthesize folic acid-modified dextran-5-fluorouracil (FA-DEX-5-Fu) conjugates and investigate its cytotoxicity on cells with folate receptors. METHODS: Dextran (DEX) was selected as the macromolecular carrier and the anti-cancer drug 5-fluorouracil (5-Fu) was selected as a model drug to synthesize 5-Fu-DEX, and then folic acid (FA) was linked into 5-Fu-DEX as the targeting ligand to obtain the conjugate, FA-DEX-5-Fu. UV spectra, IR and ESI-MS were used to identify the structure. UV spectrophotometry was used to determine the contents of FA and 5-Fu in the conjugate. MTT assay was applied to examine the cytotoxicity of free 5-Fu, 5-Fu-DEX and FA-DEX-5-Fu on the Human cervical carcinoma cell line Hela (overexpressing folate receptors) and human lung carcinoma cell line A549 (folate receptor deficient, as negative group). RESULTS: 5-Fu and FA were successfully linked with 5-Fu-DEX as confirmed by UV, IR and ESI-MS spectra.The molar ratio of 5-Fu and FA in the conjutate was 2.7:1 as determined by UV spectrophotometry. MTT assay results showed the inhibition rate of FA-DEX-5-Fu on Hela cells was much higher than that on A549 cells. And the inhibition rate of FA-DEX-5-Fu on Hela cells was much higher than those of 5-Fu-DEX and free 5-Fu at the same concentration. CONCLUSION: FA-DEX-5-Fu is successfully synthesized and the conjugate shows significant targeting effect against tumor cells overexpressing folate receptors.

To investigate amethod which could prolong the efficient time of morphine and decrease side effect. Met hods:100 patients were randomly divided into four groups, receiving the different dispensation of analgesia. Analgesic solutions were given into epi dural space 510 minutes before operation was finished. Analgesic efficiency, efficient time, and side effects were recorded. esult: Sol utions diluted with hypertonia glucose injection might prolong the efficient time obviously (P＜0.01). When combined with bupivacaine or scopolamine the sid e effects were decreased. Conclusion: Morphine combined wi th bupivacaine or scopolamine diluted with hypertonis glucose injection, used in epidural analgesia, can bring longer efficient time and less side effects.

BACKGROUND: Physical therapy is an effective treatment for movement disorder caused by central nerve system injury, while incorrect rehabilitative method will exacerbate the movement disorders in patients.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of physical therapy on movement and daily activity of the patients suffering from brain injury.DESIGN: Randomized controlled study based on patients with a confirmativediagnosis.SETTING: Rehabilitation department in a university hospital.PARTICIPANTS: From September 2001 to August 2002, 78 patients hospitalized in the Rehabilitation Department of the Hospital Affiliated to Luzhou Medical College, with hemiplegia caused by brain injury, were selected into this study. The patients with severe brain injury, severe understanding disability, and severe heart diseases, lung diseases and kidney diseases were excluded.METHODS: The eligible patients were divided into two groups: the physical therapy group(48 patients) and the control group(30 patients) . All the patients in these two groups received medication and the hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), while the patients in the physical therapy group received an extra physical therapy.MAIN OUTCOMES MEASURES: A Fugl-Meyer assessment(FMA) and a modified barthel index(MBI) were adopted to evaluate the pre-and post-treatment statuses of the patients in these two groups.RESULTS: No significant difference in age, sex and disease course between the physical therapy group and the control group was found. In the physical therapy group, the FMA scale before and after the therapy were 40.43 ± 21.78 and 68.35 ±23.39, and the corresponding MBI scale were 32.82 ± 17.40 and 78.84 ± 25.31 respectively. In the control group,meanwhile, the FMA scales were 41.71 ± 19. 13 and 51.48 ± 22.58, and the MBI scales were 33.02 ± 12.48 and 56.65 ± 26.53. Before the therapy,comparison of FMA and MBI between the two groups showed no significant difference. While after the therapy, significant difference of FMA and MBI between the two groups could be confirmed( t = 2. 14, 2.21, P ＜ 0.05).CONCLUSION: Physical therapy could apparently enhance the rehabilitation of movement ability in patients with brain injury.

Objective To investigate the effect of nanotubes on rat aortic endothelium damage.Methods Wistar rats were intratracheally instilled with carbon nanotubes(CNTs) at the doses of 0,3.5 and 17.5 mg/kg,and with a carbon black negative control,or a quartz positive control.The rats were euthanized after 7 or 30 days of the single treatment,the oxidative stress(GSH,O_2~-?) was determined by using biochemical kits,the expression of sICAM-1 and sVCAM-1 in serum was determined by using ELISA kits and ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 on aortic endothelium was determined with immunohischemistry.Results The content of GSH and O_2~1?in serum increased with a dose-dependent and time-dependent manner.A up-regulated expression of sICAM-1 and sVCAM-1 in serum and ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 in the aortic endothelium was seen.No vascular damage was seen in the rat treated with carbon black,in those treated with high-dose CNTs obvious inflammation was revealed.Conclusion Carbon nanotubes exposure can induce oxidative stress which may be followed by the up-regulated expression of sICAM-1 and sVCAM-1 in serum and ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 in the aortic endothelium,and then the endothelium disfunction may occur.

Objective To study the occurrence of the extraintestinal manifestations of inflammatory bowal disease.Methods By the retrospective study,the data of 201 IBD patients was analysed.Results A total of 21.43%of patients with ulcerative colitis(UC) and 15.79% of patients with Crohn's disease(CD) showed at least one kind of EMIs.In UC patients with EIM,the activity of disease was active phase in 89.74% and remassion phase in 10.26%.Tree CD patients were all in active phase. Musculoskeletal manifestation was the most frequent EIM,the second was dermatological manifestation,EIMs involving the genitourinary、thyroid、hepatobiliary were rarely. EN and/or PG and arthritis were more frequent coexisting other EIMs.Conclusion The prevalence of EIM was not rarely.EIM was most common among female and young patients.Arthritis and dermatological manifestations were most frequent of all assessed.The patient could have multiple EIMs and there was a tendency that EIM was more likely among patients in active phase、severe severity and with pancolitis.
