Objective To investigate the effects of short-term continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSII) in newly diag-nosed type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM ) and to evaluate the treatment regimen conversion after CSII therapy .Methods 72 patients with newly diagnosed T2DM were treated with CSII for 2 weeks .Then they were randomly divided into two groups :the basal insu-lin group(glargine) and the oral anti-diabetic drug(OAD) group .Both groups were followed up for 2 years .Blood glucose ,insulin and HbA1c were measured before and after CSII and during the 2-year follow-up .Results CSII significantly controlled the glucose levels ,reduced the TG ,TC ,LDL levels and the homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance ( HOMA-IR) and increased the homeostasis model assessment of insulin secretion (HOMA-IS)(all P< 0 .05) .During 1-year follow-up ,HbA1c in the glargine group and the OAD group was (6 .13 ± 0 .47)% and(6 .21 ± 0 .38)% respectively .During 2-year follow-up ,the HbA1c values in the two groups were (6 .91 ± 0 .57)% and(6 .43 ± 0 .62)% respectively .T HOMA-IR and HOAM-IS obtained the long tern improve-ment without significant body weight increase .Conclusion Short-term intensive insulin therapy can effectively control the blood glucose ,improve the sensitivity of insulin and the β-cell function ;after CSII ,adopting basic insulin and oral antidiabetic drugs can a-chieve the ideal glycemic control .

Objective To investigate the physical and mechanical properties of home-made bone cement mixed with different antibiotics.Methods The specimens of bone cement each of 40g were divid-ed in to6groups depending on mixed antibiotics,groupⅠmixed with1g gentamicin,groupⅡwith2g gen tam icin,groupⅢwith1g cephradine,groupⅣwith1.5g cefuroxine,groupⅤwith1g ceftriaxone and groupⅥwith out any antibiotics served as control.The dough time,compressing depth,compressive strength,bending strength and bending elastic modulus were measured respectively,elution examination of antibiotics from bone ce ment was performed by chromatography.Results The dough time and compress-ing depth of the groups were better than that of ISO5833standard,and there was no significant difference a-mong the groups.The com pressive strength and bending strength of the groupⅡwere lower than that ISO5833standard,but there was no significant difference among the groups by analysis of variance.The bending elastic modulus of the groupⅡwas lower than the control group and other groups(P

Objective: With nonionic surfactants as the carrier material to prepare glycyrrhetinic acid (GC) niosomes (NI) and to evaluate the quality. Methods: The thin film dispersion-ultrasound method was used for establishing the preparation process of GC - NI, reverse dialysis method and ultraviolet spectrophotometer method were used to determine the encapsulation efficiency (EE), the prescription and preparation process were optimized through single factor and central composite design-response surface methodology (CCD-RSM), and the properties of morphology, particle size, Zeta potential, and EE in optimized NI were investigated. Results: The optimum prescription process as Span 80-cholesterol was 2:1, hydration temperature was 70℃, hydration time was 51 min, ultrasonic time was 60 min, its forecast EE was 80.66%, bias between the observed and predicted values was 4.95%, and regression coefficient of binomial fitting complex model was as high as 0.989 9. Conclusion: CCD-RSM is used to optimize the preparation, which has the stable, feasible, high precision, and good predictability advantage.

Purpose This paper was to investigate the correlation between in vitro and in situ methods for propafenone transnasal absorption.MethodsUsing excised sheep nasal mucosa permeation test in vitro and rat nasal infusion test in situ. By means of changing the medium pH, drug conoentration, and forming β-cyclodextrin inclusion compound, the permeability coeffident (Pm), mean permeation rate, and permeation fraction were determined in vitro. Under the corresponding conditions the absorption rate oostant(k ) ,mean absorption rate and absorption fraction in situ were also detrmined.ResultsThe linear regression coefficient indicated that,under the various experimental conditions,a good in vitro-in situ correlation could be confirmed.ConclusionsHaving an in vitro-in situ correlation is useful for scientific justifying the different methods for nasal absorption studies.

AIM: To observe effects of shear stress and TNF-? on caveolin-1 expression. METHODS: Cultured human aortic endothelial cells (HAECs) of passage 3-5 were used in the experiment. Cells were exposed to a laminar flow (shear stress 1.0 Pa) by using a parallel rectangular flow chamber for different time. Caveolin-1 mRNA and protein expression were measured by RT-PCR and Western blot, respectively. Caveolin-1 expression of the cells stimulated by TNF-? were also studied to elucidate the influence of this inflammatory factor. Objective To find the rule of the distribution of H antigens on AB subgrouperythrocytes.Methods ABO subgroups were confirmed by using serological and molecular biology (PCR-RFLP) methods. AB subgroup with strong H was defined as red cell agglutination by anti-H of 2 scores or more higher than that of B cells.Results Strong H was only found in certain AB subgroups ,CisAB(100%),B(A)(100%), AxB(46.2%) and A2B(43.6%), but seldom in others among Chinese population.Conclusion The fact that H type-3, which comes from A type-2, can hardly be transferred by B and weak A glycosyltransferase can help to explain why some ‘strong’ H combines with ‘weak’ A in AB erythrocytes. Why only little H can be found in 53.8% AxB, 56.4% A2B and all A3B, AmB subgroup samples still cannot been explained.
