Objective To evaluate the effects of external substance P (SP) on scalding wound healing and neovascularization. Methods Eighty-four Wistar rats were induced into diabetic models by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (STZ), and deep partial thickness scalding wound on the back with diameter of 2 cm was prepared. Rats were randomly divided into experiment group (n=42, local injection of SP) and control group (n=42, local injection of PBS). The process of wound healing was observed, and the percentages of wound closure were calculated on D0, D1, D3, D7, D10, D14, D21 post scald. The expression of CD31, surface marker of neovascular endothelial cells, was detected within the wound sites by immunohistochemical staining, and the microvessel density was calculated. Results The percentage of wound closure in experiment group was significantly higher than that in control group on D7 post scald [(42.69±3.26) % vs (30.24±1.17)%, P<0.01]. Immunohistochemical detection revealed that the expression of CD31 and the microvessel density in experiment group were significantly higher than those in control group from D7 post scald (P<0.01). ConclusionExternal SP may promote scalding wound healing in diabetic rats, the mechanism of which may be associated with upregulation of expression of CD31 and acceleration of neovascularization.

Objective:To provide scientific evidence for infection prevention and control by analyzing the risk factors of surgical site infection, which can move forward the gateway of infection prevention and control. Methods:The surgery-related information of patients admitted to the Department of General Surgery and Department of Orthopedics, People's Hospital of Guangnan Hospital of Yunnan province from November 2016 to August 2019 was retrospectively analyzed. According to whether postoperative surgical site infection occurred, the patients were divided into an infection group and a non-infection group. Logistic regression model was used to analyze the risk factors of surgical site infection. Results:A total of 9 346 patients, consisting of 117 patients in the infection group and 9 229 patients in the non-infection group, were included for final analysis. In the infection group, the incidence of surgical site infection was 1.25%. Multivariate analysis showed that hypoproteinemia ( OR = 2.585), unclean incision ( OR = 3.243 and 5.125), and operation duration more than 3 hours ( OR = 2.315), blood transfusion ( OR = 2.239), drainage tube placement ( OR = 2.133) and indwelling catheter placement ( OR = 1.973) were the independent risk factors for surgical site infection, while prophylactic use of antibiotics was a protective factor ( OR = 0.383). Conclusion:Individual factors, operation-related factors, and treatment-related factors are closely related to the occurrence of surgical site infection. Much attention should be paid to the clinical issues like preoperative hypoproteinemia, perioperative prophylactic use of antibiotics and postoperative drainage tube and indwelling catheter placement.

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2021;33(11):1105-1108
Objective:
To evaluate the effect of "healthy eating plate" based dietary management on diabetic inpatients.
Methods:
The patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) admitted to Daishan First People's Hospital from November 2019 to November 2020 were selected and randomly divided into two groups. The intervention group was given "healthy eating plate" based dietary management, while the control group was given routine dietary management. Demographic data and physical examination results were collected. Fasting blood glucose (FPG), glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), triglyceride (TG) and total cholesterol (TC) were detected at admission, discharge and 3 months after discharge, and compared between the two groups by covariance and generalized estimating equation.
Results:
here were 52 patients aged (55.83±9.67) years in the intervention group, with 29 (55.77%) males and 23 (44.23%) females. There were 53 patients aged (57.54±11.09) years in the control group, with 32 (60.38%) males and 21 (39.62%) females. There were no significant differences in FPG, HbA1c, TG and TC levels between two groups at discharge (P>0.05). The level of HbA1c in the intervention group was significantly lower than that in the control group at 3 months after discharge (P<0.05); there were no significant differences in FPG, TG and TC levels (P>0.05).
Conclusion
The "healthy eating plate" based dietary management can better control the blood glucose of diabetic patients, and can help maintain the dietary treatment. It is worthy of promotion in diabetic patients.

ObjectiveTo explore the role of β-catenin in the proinvasive consequences of hypoxia in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).MethodsWe established in vitro and in vivo hypoxic models using the highly metastatic MHCC97 and the stable red fluorescent protein-expressing MHCC97-R cells. The role of β-catenin in hypoxia-mediated aggressiveness was investigated by β-catenin knockdown.ResultsHypoxia caused a pronounced arrest of proliferation in MHCC97 cells, suppressed tumor growth in MHCC97-R xenografts, but promoted in vitro invasiveness and in vivo metastasis.β-Catenin-silencing by short hairpin significantly inhibited the enhanced invasiveness of MHCC97 cells due to hypoxia, reduced the increase in distant metastasis by hepatic arterial ligation, but failed to further restrain cell proliferation.Conclusionβ-Catenin in HCC cells plays an essential role in the hypoxia-induced metastatic potential.A reduction of βcatenin expression inhibited the proinvasive consequences of hypoxia in HCC.

Objective To study the effects of granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF) on the expression of vascular endotllelial growth factor (VEGF) in human dermal fibroblast. Methods In vitro human dermal fibroblasts in good status were incubated with GM-CSF (GM-CSF group) or non-GM-CSF (control group) culture medium for different periods of time. The mRNA, protein expression of VEGF in derma fibroblast were determined by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and Western blotting, respectively, and the secretion of VEGF in supernatant was measured by enzyme linked immunosorbant assay (ELISA). Results The expression of VEGF mRNA from dermal fibroblasts was increased significantly after l or more hours of incubation with GM-CSF comparing with the control (P<0.05). 6 hours of stimulation by GM-CSF caused maximal expression of VEGF mRNA. The expression of VEGF protein in dermal fibroblasts was increased from 12 hours and was peaked at 24 hour after stimulation by GM-CSF. VEGF protein from the supernatant of the dermal fibroblasts was also raised persistently from 12 hour after stimulation by GM-CSF and was improved remarkably compared with the control. Conclusions GM-CSF can up-regulate directly the expression of VEGF in human derma fibroblast, which may be one of the mechanisms that GM-CSF accelerates neovascularization in wound healing.
