1.Effect of GETO on Learning and Memory of Experiment AD Model Rats and Its Mechanism

Objective: To observe the effect of GETO on learning and memory of experiment AD model rats and search its cholinergic mechanism of action.Methods: ?-amyloid protein(A?_(1-42)) injection into hippocampus in rat was applied to make experimental rat model of AD.Morris water maze test were employed to investigate the function of learning and memory in AD model rats after 4 weeks,and immunohistochemical stain was done with Choline Acetyltransferase(ChAT) and nerve growth factor(NGF) antibodies after Morris water maze test,and system of image pro-plus were used to gain the number and grey degree of positive neurons.Results: In Morris water maze test: The mean escape latent period of the Model rats obviously prolonged than that of the Normal rats,the number of traversing flat roof obviously decreased.The mean escape latent period and the number of traversing flat roof of the GETO rats significantly shorten than the model rats.Immunohistochemical test: The number of positive staining neuron in hippocampus CA1 of ChAT and NGF in the GETO rats was not significantly different from those in the Normal rats and the Donepezil rats,but significantly different from those in Model rats with injection of A?_(1-42)(P
2.Determination of baicalin, rhein and berberine in Yiqing Capsule by HPLC

AIM: To determine the contents of baicalin, berberine, rhein in Yiqing Capsule(Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, Radix Scutellariae, Rhizoma Coptidis) by HPLC. METHODS: The HPLC system consisted of Kromasil C 18 column (150 mm?4.6 mm, 5 ?m), 0.02 mol?L -1 phosphoric acid (TEA adjusted to pH=6.82)-acetonitrile(40∶11) mixture as mobile phase, detection wavelength at 254 nm, flow rate of 1.0 mL?min -1. RESULTS: The calibration curves of three ingredients were linear within the range of 3.666-73.32 mg?L -1(r=0.9998, baicalin), 0.3112-15.56 mg?L -1(r=0.9998, rhein), 1.221-50.04 mg?L -1(r=0.9999,berberine), respectively. The average recovery of baicalin is 102.3%(RSD=2.5%), berberine for 101.8%(RSD=1.8%), and rhein for 98.3%(RSD=2.9%). CONCLUSIONS: The method is rapid, sensitive and accurate.
3.Development of new magnetic bead separation and purification instrument.

The article describes the development of new magnetic bead separation and purification instrument. The main application of the instrument is to capture tubercle bacillus from sputum. It is a pretreatment instrument and provides a new platform to help doctors to diagnose bacillary phthisis. Not only could it be used for tubercle bacillus capturing, but also for gene, protein and cell separating and purification. Because the controller of the instrument is 16-bit single chip microcomputer, the cost could be greatly reduced and it will be widely used in China.

4.Comparison of Pulmicort and Dexamethasone's curative effects for acute laryngitis in children

Objective To compare Pulmicort and Dexamethasone’s curative effects for acute laryngitis in children. Method Children with acute laryngitis were divided into PUL group and DEX group according their therapy methods. The curative effects and recurrence time were compared. Results The efficiency rate in PUL group was significantly higher than in DEX group (P<0.05). The therapy 3 d and post-therapy dyspnea, hoarseness, bark-like cough and stridor score in PUL group were significantly lower than in DEX group (P<0.05), and the recurrence time of dyspnea, hoarseness, bark-like cough and stridor was significantly shorter (P<0.05). Conclusion Pulmicort could significantly improve the symptoms and signs for children with acute laryngitis with few side effects. Its curative effects are better than dexamethasone.

Objective To explore the pathogenic mechanism associated with insulin resistance(IR) and adiponetin(APN) abnormality in carotid atherosclerosis(CAS) patients complicated with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),and to study their relationships with traditional Chinese medical(TCM) syndrome types.Methods Seventy-four CAS patients complicated with NAFLD(group A) and 25 CAS patients(group B) were enrolled into the study.Fasting blood glucose(FBG),fasting serum insulin(FI),and serum APN levels were measured.IR and APN were evaluated by the homeostasis assessment(HOMA) method.HOMA-IR and APN in group A were compared with those in group B,and bivariate correlation analysis was made between the two indexes in group A.The relationship of HOMA-IR and APN with TCM syndrome types was analyzed in group A.Results (1) HOMA-IR was obviously increased,and APN was obviously decreased in group A(P

8.The expression of fragile histidine triad in primary hepatocellular carcinoma

Objective To investigate the clinical significance of the expression of fragile histidine triad (FHIT) protein in primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).Methods Immunohistochemical (S-P) method was used to detect the expression of FHIT in the 46 patients with HCC and 10 normal controls.Results In the patients with HCC,the expression rate of FHIT in the tumor tissue was 56.52%,significantly lowerthan that in adjacent non-tumor tissue and normal tissue.The absence of FHIT protein was correlated neither with the size,tumor capsule,serum AFP level nor with chronic hepatitis B virus infection and cirrhosis of liver.There was significant relationship between the expression of FHIT and differentiation and thrombus in the portal vein.Conclusion The loss of FHIT gene protein is a frequent event in HCC.Furthermore,the loss is closoly related to tumor prognosis prognosis and FHIT loss.
9.Yangxue qingnao-containing serum inhibits rat vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation induced by lysophosphatidic acid

AIM: To observe the effects of Yangxue qingnao-containing serum on rat vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) proliferation induced by lysophosphatidic acid (LPA). METHODS: The [ 3H]-TdR incorporation and mitogen-activated protein kinasc (MAPK) activity were measured in cultured VSMC. End product of lipid peroxidation-MDA levels were also detected. RESULTS: 1?10 -9 ,1?10 -8 and 1?10 -7 mol/L LPA enhanced the cultured VSMC [ 3H]-TdR incorporation, increased MAPK activity and MDA content in a concentration-dependent manner. 5%, 10% and 15% Yangxue qingnao-containing serum concentration-dependently inhibited the increase in VSMC [ 3H]-TdR incorporation, MAPK activity and MDA content induced by LPA. CONCLUSIONS: LPA has a stimulating effect on VSMC proliferation. The LPA-induced intracellular signal transduction may be related to MAPK activity. Yangxue qingnao can efficiently inhibit LPA -induced VSMC proliferation,MAPK activity and lipid peroxidation. [

Objective To explore the diagnostic value of indirect magnetic resonance(MR) arthrography in detecting meniscus tears of the knees.Methods Routine plain MR of the knees followed by indirect MR arthrography was performed in 56 knees with suspected meniscal tears clinically.All cases had subsequently arthroscopic examination or operation.The sensitivity and diagnostic accordance of routine plain MR and indirect MR arthrography were compared based on the result of arthroscopic examination or operation.
