Acupuncture therapy is one of the original innovations in traditional Chinese medicine. The study of acupuncture has gradually advanced towards the world since 1970s. In these years the most important events might be the influence of acupuncture anesthesia, the attention of the World Health Organization, the establishment and development of the World Federation of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Societies, and the consensus development conference on acupuncture held by the National Institutes of Health in America, and so on. The reasons why acupuncture is accepted by the world are both the convinced curative effects and the scientific foundations, due to the great efforts of medical stuff in China guided by the principle of integration of traditional Chinese and western medicine. This article poses several proposals about further extending the influence of acupuncture. In brief, acupuncture research is one of the few fields that authentically impact the western scientific technology. It is of very important responsibility in the new century to impulse the acupuncture study to further progress and expand the international influence of acupuncture.

This paper analyzes shortcomings and insufficiencies in the moral and political instruction for college students,introduces good examples and novel concepts in the book of "55 Proposals for a Successful College Life",and points out a series of enlightenment for the improvement of the moral and political instruction by extending the function of role models of advanced individuals among college students,adapting multiple forms of instruction,stressing the combination of cross-subjects,and making the instruction content and forms closer to students' realistic conditions by.

Objective To investigate the clinical correlation of intestinal bacterial translocation(BT) and in-testinal barrier of pediatric intestinal surgery,and to observe the relationship between BT and postoperative infection.Methods The plasma D-lactic acid,LPS level of 61 children with intestinal surgery in our hospital were detected before and after surgery.Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was used to test blood bacterial DNA,in order to judge whether there is BT.Results The PCR results of preoperative children were negative,the PCR positive for 3 cases.According to the PCR results,postoperative systemic inflammatory response syndrome(SIRS) and complications of infection of PCR positive group were obviously higher than those of PCR negative group(P ＜ 0.01).And plasma D-lactic acid,LPS inspection of PCR positive group were obviously higher than PCR negative group(P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion Intestinal barrier damage has close relationship with BT in children after intestinal surgery,SIRS and infection complications also has a direct relationship with BT.

Objective　To observe the effect of nordihydroguaiaretic acid treatment combined with Methotrexate or Vincristine on a human malignant glioma cell line. Methods　The effect of drugs on the cells was measured by MTT, and the protein expression of cyclin D1 gene in the cells was measured by immunohistochemistry assay. Results　①The anti-tumor effects of drugs on the cells were increased with the increasing of concentrations, and had a combined function between NDGA and MTX or VCR. ②There was no difference between the effect of treating NDGA with MTX or VCR given at the same time and MTX or VCR given after 24 h of NDGA treatment, but the effects were apparently different when NDGA was administrated after MTX or VCR treatment for 24 h. ③The protein expression of cyclin D1 gene in the cells was apparently reduced after NDGA treatment. Conclusion　There is a cooperative function between NDGA and MTX or VCR on the cells, and the function is probably related to the NDGA-induced down-regulation of protein expression of cyclin D1 gene in the cells.

Objective To establish a comprehensive nutritional assessment scale for hospitalized patients with objective and subjective nutritional assessment indicators. Methods The hierarchical structure model was established to evaluate the nutritional status of hospitalized patients by analytic hierarchy process,and the weight coefficients of various assessment indicators were worked out by Satty product method,then the comprehensive nutritional assessment scale for hospitalized patients was established. ResuIts The newly established comprehensive nutritional assessment scale included 11 subjective and objective indicators,and the weight coefficients of indicators varied.The leading three important indicators for nutritional assessment were serum prealbumin(2.3),serum albumin(2.3)and degree of weight loss(1.6).Conclusion With both snbjective and objective indicators,the new comprehensive nutritional assessment scale established with analytic hierarchy process transforms the qualitative indicator into the quantitative one.It is a new attempt to apply the mathematical theory into the area of clinical medicine.

The Subjective Global Assessment(SGA) is widely applied in the clinic.The usage and the clinical purpose of SGA is quite different among the various studies.In some studies,SGA proved to be a good screening tool for nutritional risk or a prognostic indicator for poorer outcomes.In several clinical setting,SGA was employed as a "gold standard" method against which new nutritional assessment methods were validated.At present,the different indicators of nutritional assessment reflect the different characteristics of the body's nutritional status changes.The different indicators and methods should be incorporated according to the patient in order to objectively and correctly assess the patient's nutritional status.

Glutamine is the most abundant free amino acid in the body,which is regarded as a conditionally essential amino acid under the conditions of stress and hypermetabolism.It has been proved that glutamine can enhance the proliferation of immune cells and the repair of impaired mucosa and can also improve the nitrogen balance and skeletal muscle protein synthesis.Therefore,it is now more and more widely used in the bone marrow transplantation.The roles of glutamine in the prevention and treatment of bone marrow transplantation-related mucositis and veno-occlusive disease are reviewed in this article.

OBJECTIVE:To explore the pharmacological basis of Yang Xue Fu Kang granules on the treatment of postpartum persistent hemorrhage METHODS:The methods such as bleeding with cutting tail,glass capillary and recalcification time were used to observe the effects of Yang Xue Fu Kang granules on the bleeding time and the clotting time of animals RESULTS:For the mice suffering from experimental deficiency of both qi and blood in Chinese medicine,Yang Xue Fu Kang granules obviously reduced both the bleeding time of tail wounds and the clotting time tested with glass capillary Also the drug reduced the bleeding time of tail wound in normal rats and clotting time(recalcification time)in normal rabbits CONCLUSION:Among the mechanisms of Yang Xue Fu Kang granules on treating postpartum persistent hemorrhage,promoting coagulation function and enhancing stypticity possess some positions

Objective To acquire setup error with X-ray volumetric images (XVI) technique during volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) of pelvic tumors in order to provide guidance for the doctor to determine the interval between clinical target volume (CTV) and planning target volume (PTV).~ Totally 20 pelvic tumor patients accepting radiation oncology underwent CBCT scan before the first treatment,and auto registration was executed between CBCT images and planning CT images to determine the setup errors at X,Y and Z directions.Then the patients experienced another CBCT scan to obtain residual setup errors,VMAT was carried out after auto on-line correction by the treatment couch,and the third CBCT scan was performed after the treatment.Totally three times of CBCT scans were implemented every week hereafter.The setup errors were analyzed before and after the treatment,and the target volume margin (MPTV) was calculated accordingly.Results The setup errors at X,Y and Z directions were significantly decreased after correction.The values of MPTV at X,Y and Z directions before correction were 3.89,6.20 and 5.24 mm respectively,and the ones after correction were 1.42,2.42 and 2.40 mm respectively.The decreased values of MPTV were between 2.47 and 3.78 mm,which showed the most significant trend at Y direction.Conclusion VMAT of pelvic tumors based on XVI contributes to decreasing the setup errors and enhancing treatment quality.
