Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2005;9(39):177-179
BACKGROUND: Primary hypertension is in the category of "dizziness"and "dementia" in Chinese medicine. It is discovered in recent years that vascular dangerous factors, like hypertension affect the risk constitution of Alzheimer disease.OBJECTIVE: To probe into relationship between cognition and syndrome differentiation of primary hypertension.DESIGN: Case-control analysis was designed.SETTING: Jiangsu Staff University of Medical Science and Yangzhou Wenhe Hospital.PARTICIPANTS: Totally 90 cases of primary hypertension were employed from May to June 2000. They were from some city in the north of Jiangsu province, graduated from middle school and cooperated with the investigation. Totally 30 cases were collected from physical-check group and taken in the control.METHODS: The cases of primary hypertension were differentiated as excess-syndrome group (excessive phlegm and damp and hyperactivity of liver yang), deficiency-syndrome group (yin deficiency of liver and kidney and deficiency of yin and yang), excess within deficiency group (complicated with blood stasis and with turbid phlegm) and the control group. Neuropsychological method was used to evaluate the cognition.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Indexes of neuropsychology: Fuld object-memory Evaluation (FOM), rapid verbal retrieve (RVR), block design WISE (BD), digit span WISE (DS), Hachinski ischemic score (HACH), mini-mental state examination (MMSE) and activity of daily living scale among groups.RESULTS: The data of 90 cases of primary hypertension and 30 cases in physical-check group entered result analysis. Compared with the control group, significant difference was not indicated in every statistical index in excess-syndrome group (P > 0.05). In deficiency-syndrome group, except MMSE and ADL, the rest observed indexes indicated statistical difference. In excess within deficiency group, statistical difference presented in every observed index (P < 0.01), in which the results in the complication of turbid phlegm was worse than blood stasis (FOM was 11.3±3.7,13.5±2.5 respectively; DS was 6.4±3.9,8.3±3.5, respectively)CONCLUSION: Primary hypertension affects mental state of patient, in which, cognition is declined mildly in deficiency-syndrome group. Dementia symptoms present in excess within deficiency group which is severe in phlegm type compared with blood stasis type. Differentiation of syndromes in Chinese medicine integrated with neuropsychological assessment benefits early discovery and diagnosis of dementia.
2.Inhibitory Effects of Angiostatin on the Growth of Human Glioma and It's Pathological Study
Chinese Journal of Cancer Biotherapy 1996;0(04):-
Objective:To investigate the inhibitory effects of human angiostatin ( AS) on the subcutaneously transplanted mouse glioma. Methods; Effects of AS on the proliferation of angioendothelial cell line ECV-304 and human glioma cell line TJ-905 were observed with MTT method. Mouse model of subcutaneously transplanted of glioma line G422 was established. AS was injected subcutaneously, tumor ratio and tumor in hibitory rate were estimated. Results; ( 1) Inhibitory effects of AS on ECV-304 enhanced with the increase of dose, while AS exerted no effect on TJ-905 ; (2) It was shown with animal experiments that turner inhibitory rates were 21. 8% and 84. 3% with AS doses of 10 mg and 50 mg-kg-1. d-1 , respectively; (3) Immunochemical factor VM staining indicated there the differences between the control and the control and the test groups in both the angiodevelopment and quantity. Conclusion; There was no inhibitory effect for AS to angiolorna cell in vitro, however in vivo, it inhibited the glioma growth via its inhibitory effect on the proliferation of an-gioend othelial cell line. It was then suggested that AS would be of wide application in tumor treatment.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(46):7466-7471
BACKGROUND:Stromal cel-derived factor-1 (SDF-1) and chemokine receptor-4 (CXCR4) play an important role in stem cel homing during bone marrow, organ and tissue transplantation. But there are few reports on limbal stem cel transplantation and homing as wel as the distribution and content of SDF-1/CXCR4 on the cornea. OBJECTIVE:To detect the expression levels of SDF-1/CXCR4 mRNA in rat corneal tissue by fluorescence quantitative PCR. METHODS: The normal rat cornea was taken completely, and subdivided into central cornea, peripheral corneal and limbal area. Fluorescence quantitative PCR method was employed to detect SDF-1/CXCR4 mRNA levels at corresponding positions. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The expression levels of SDF-1 and CXCR4 mRNA were 0.213±0.015 and 0.189±0.02 in the central cornea, 0.529±0.077 and 0.285±0.015 in the peripheral cornea, 0.666±0.069 and 0.258±0.067 in the limbal area, respectively. These data show that there are significant differences in the expression levels of SDF-1 and CXCR4 mRNA in the central cornea, peripheral corneal and limbal area, and these differences exert an important role in cel homing and migration during limbal stem cel transplantation for treatment of limbal stem cel deficiency.

BACKGROUND:How to promote homing of scarce limbal stem cel s is the key to improving transplantation efficiency. And stromal cel-derived factor-1 plays an important role in the repair of retinal pigment epithelial cel s injury. OBJECTIVE:To observe changes of stromal cel-derived factor-1 levels in rat and mouse limbal stem cel deficiency models in order to confirm whether these changes wil induce peripheral blood stem cel s homing into the cornea. METHODS:Eye models of limbal stem cel deficiency were prepared in rats and mice by cutting method, then peripheral blood samples were continuously drawn to detect the mass concentration of stromal cel-derived factor-1 by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay within 1 month after modeling. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:In the rat peripheral blood, the mass concentration of stromal cel-derived factor-1 started to increase at 24 hours after modeling and firstly peaked at the 3rd day;then it tended to decrease and reached a second peak lower than the first one at the 25th day;subsequently, it returned to the normal level. In the meanwhile, the mass concentration of stromal cel-derived factor-1 in the mouse peripheral blood, increased at 12 hours after modeling, peaked at the 3rd day, subsequently decreased until another peak lower than the former one presented at the 20th day, and final y it returned to the normal level. In conclusion, the level of stromal cel-derived factor-1 in the peripheral blood is significantly associated with limbal stem cel s deficiency, which may play an important role in corneal injury repair.

Objective To summarize the experience of diagnosis and management of regional portal hypertension. Methods The clinical manifestations, diagnostic methods and therapeutic modalities of 16 cases of regional portal hypertension were analyzed retrospectively. Results Among 16 patients with ~regional portal hypertension, 12 cases resulted from pancreatic diseases, and 4 cases were complicated with non-pancreatic diseases. The main clinical findings were splenomegaly in 16(100%), abdominal pain ~in 10(63%) , gastrointestinal bleeding in 7(44%) and abdominal masses in 3(19%). All had normal liver function test. The main diagnostic methods were ultrasonography(US), computerized tomography (CT) and endoscopy. Splenic vein thrombosis could be detected by color Doppler ultrasonography (7/7). ~Enhanced CT could demonstrate enlarged and tortuous short gastric veins, gastroepiploic veins, and ~coll- ~ateral vessels around splenic hilum(16/16). Isolated gastric varices (4/5) were revealed mainly by ~gastro- ~scopy . Splenectomy was effective for controlling gastrointestinal bleeding, and its complication of portal vein thrombosis occurred in 1 case. Conclusions It is not difficult to diagnose regional portal ~hyper- ~tension based on findings of US and CT, together with special clinical characteristics. Therapeutic options should be ~individualized according to underlying diseases, however, splenectomy should be performed in the ~patients with gastrointestinal bleeding.
