Objective To evaluate the applicability and effectiveness of the model for managing patients with convulsive epilepsy in rural China. Methods The model is under leadership of the government departments and medical institutions at all levels organized primary physicians for treatment and management.People with convulsive epilepsy in 24 rural areas were screened by local physicians and confirmed by neurologists.Patients diagnosed with convulsive epilepsy and agreed with managing were recruited into study. They were managed at primary care level and provided with phenobarbital monotherapy.Efficacy was assessed from the changes in seizure frequencies from baseline. Results There were 408 town hospitals and 979 trained primary care physicians participating in our study.Five thousand and thirty-eight patients were enrolled in 2 years, and 90% patients with good compliance.Among the people who were treated with phenobarbital monotherapy,3 170 were managed for 12 months, and 2 005 (63.3%) of whom had a 50% or greater reduction in seizure frequency and 1 246 (39.3%)patients remained seizure free;651 patients were managed for 24 months, and 491 (75.4%) of whom had a 50% or greater reduction in seizure frequency and 202(31.0%)patients remained seizure free.Three hundred and forty-three (6.8%) patients withdrew from the study, and only 35 (0.7%) patients discontinued treatment because of side effects.Sixty-nine (1.4%) patients were dead and 8 (11.6%) of them were caused by status epilepticus. Conclusion This study confirms that this model is beneficial to patients with epilepsy and is suitable to the rural areas of China.

Journal of International Oncology 2013;(2):89-92
As a novel Golgi protein,GOLPH2 expression is associated with maintaining the structural integrity of the Golgi apparatus. As an oncoprotein,GOLPH2 expression is associated with malignant biological behavior of cancer cells.Important roles of GOLPH2 in the tumorigenesis and metastasis make it become a new target for tumor diagnosis and treatment.

Objective To find out exposure level and distributional characteristics of risk factors for stroke in sampling population among communities. Methods Target population aged≥40 years were selected from Beijing,Shanghai,Fuzhou and Tangshan by cluster sampling and grouped by area, age and gender. They were investigated face to face with a questionnaire which included general information and common risk factors of stroke. Body height, weight and levels of blood pressures were measured. Exposure rate of risk factors and its distributional characteristics of area and population were described. Results 23 471 individuals were enlisted into data analysis. Exposure rate of hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, family history of stroke, obesity, cigarette smoking and alcohol drinking were 27.73%,14.14%,5.19%,15.95%,11.28%,28.7% and 16.6%,respectively. There were significant differences between areas for all factors (P

Objective To look into the effects of community intervention measures on blood pressure and hypertension control of the population. Methods Two geographic separated urban communities with the population about 50 000 each were selected as either intervention or control communities in Beijing in 1996.In the intervention community, the primary and secondary prevention on high blood pressure were carried out.And the morbidity and mortality of stroke in both intervention and control populations were monitored.A baseline survey and evaluation re-survey were respectively conducted in 1997 and 2000 covering both intervention and control communities with a cluster random sample of about 800 persons each. Results In the baseline survey, there were no difference between intervention and control communities in six of seven variables including systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),prevalence of hypertension, rate of awareness, therapy, control with SBP 140 and DBP

Objective To study automatic drawing on target therapy area based on MRI and CT imagings in order to get the precision less than 1 mm in HIFU treatment. Methods Based on MRI and CT imagings, automatic image was recognized and the frame was extracted by image processing and image segmentation,etc..Results The system of software we are studying can be effectively used to recognize medical automatic images and get target therapy areas' image drawings. Conclusion This system of software will be used in medical precise treatment systems, such as HIFU 3D Treatment Regional Planning System.

Journal of Third Military Medical University 2002;0(12):-
Objective To study the common imaging characters of the human tissues such as tumors in MRI based on hysteromyoma in hope of getting the results that the same tissue has the same MR characters and identifying the common, comparatively steady MR figs sectional area which can provide related references for the computer-based automatic recognition orgnization and basis for the question such as whether the same MR figs has the same hyperacoustic impedance characters. Methods We analysed all the images with hysteromyoma on MRI T2 and got the rules on MR figs change with the application of the MRI image analysing software which specially designed by Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 for the research.Results(1)No significant difference was found in MR figs sectional area in the different periods of the same patient under the same MRI test condition.(2)No significant difference was found in MR figs sectional area in different patients under the same MRI test condition.(3)Significant difference was found in MR figs sectional area after the patient received the HIFU treatment under the same MRI test condition.Conclusion(1)Human tissues have some common MRI imaging characters in the same MRI test equipment under the same MRI test condition.(2)Imaging characters of the human body tissues in MRI can be altered after HIFU treatment.

International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2006;0(01):-
Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs) are a population of multipotent cells. Many researchers have studied whether BMSCs could differentiate into neurons in vivo and ex vivo. Although some studies didn't agree with about some chemical induction medium inducing neurons, the application of cell transplantion and gene therapy of BMSCs has achieved certain progress showing good future for BMSCs in therapy of nervous system diseases.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1981;0(06):-
Objective To study the clinical, imageological and pathologic characters of primary synovial chondromatosis of hip joint, and effect of open surgery. Method 12 cases of primary synovial chondromatosis of the hip joints admitted from May 1973 to May 2004 were retrospectively studied in respect to clinical manifestations, X-ray picture, and pathological findings. The effects of operation were followed up. Results Intermittent pain, swelling, limitation of hip joints were the main complaints. Mass and myatrophy near involved hip joint were discernible in a few patients. Although there was no obvious image of calcification, swelling of articular capsule was seen in X-ray film in 4 patients. CT scan showed arthroedema, loose bodies and bone erosion of the femoral head in the hip joint. The X-ray films of the other 8 patients showed obvious calcified loose bodies. All cases were diagnosed by pathology after operations. 8 cases were categorized Milgram Ⅱstage, and 4 cases Milgram Ⅲ stage. Eight patients were followed-up for a period of 1 to 7 years (mean 5 years). Recurrence occurred in 2 cases. Conclusion The diagnosis should be based on clinical characters, X-ray films and pathologic findings, and the pathology is most reliable. In order to decrease recurrence, CT or MRI examinations should be taken before the operation. X-ray monitoring should be carried out during the operation of the patient in whom loose bodies were found in X-ray film before the operation.
