Chinese Journal of General Surgery 2001;0(09):-
ObjectiveTo evaluate the early image alterations of primary liver cancer (PLC) treated by high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU). MethodsA total of 55 PLC patients underwent extracorporeal HIFU ablation. Color Doppler ultrasound, digital substraction angiography (DSA), computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were performed to monitor the therapeutic response.ResultsImage examinations obtained 2 weeks after HIFU ablation showed significant response of PLC. MRI was the best for evaluating HIFU efficacy. Unenhanced MRI revealed signal alterations on both T 1 and T 2 weighted images, and enhanced MRI demonstrated the absence of contrast enhancement in the treated HCC and a thin peripheral rim of enhancement surrounding the coagulation necrosis. ConclusionMRI rapidly assesses HIFU induced complete ablation of HCC, residual viable cancer tissure in treated region, and coagulation extent of HIFU treatment.

Objective To study clinical effect of transplantation with vascularized ilium bone and free fibulae, and internal fixation of titanium plate on reconstruction of maxillary defect. Methods Nine cases of maxillary defect were repaired by 7 iliac muscle flaps with deep circumflex iliac artery and vein, 2 cases of fibulae muscle flap with peroneal artery and vein, meanwhile, fixed internally by titanium plate. The vessels were anastomosed with arteria and vena maxillaries externa. Results Nine patients were confirmed by 99m TcMDP 2-4 weeks after operation that the supply of blood was well and the graft bones were survival. By follow-up from 6 months to 3 years after operation, the fixations of graft bones were good. Conclusion Vascularized bone graft and internal fixation of titanium plate is one of the best ways for reconstruction of maxillary defect.

BACKGROUND: The biomechanics of cervical spine is complicated. It is an important way to select the appropriate biomechanical model and research method so as to explore the diagnosis and evaluation mechanism of cervical spine injury and prognosis judgement.OBJECTIVE: To discuss the alternation of cervical biomechanics after the degeneration of cervical disc and the influence of degeneration on cervical stability.METHODS: (1) A three-dimensional finite element model of cervical spine was established from the CT scan images of cervical spine of a healthy male volunteer, Solid-Works2015, HyperMesh and ANSYS11.0. We created a cervical three-dimensional finite element model. To simulate the degenerative disc by modified the mechanical characters and height of the disc model, we observed the biomechanics of the impact on the cervical spine (the range and the stress on intervertabral disc).RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) The entire model with a total of 97705 nodes and 372896 elements. Ligament and joint capsule were also constructed. Face to face contact element was used in the facet joint, with complete structure and high accuracy of measurement of spatial structure. (2) The range of motion of cervical spine increased during degeneration compared with normal cervical segments (P < 0.05). (3) Intervertebral disc degeneration caused angle increase at disc and motion segment. Osteophyte formed on vertebral edge. Intervertebral disc degeneration caused cervical instability. Simultaneously, instability increased the disc degeneration.

[Objective]To assess the success of hallux valgus surgery of oblique and impaction osteotomy of first metatarsal neck.[Method]The outcome of 36 patients(45 feet)treated by this technique for symptomatic hallux valgus deformity was reviewed. The follow-up was two years.Lateral and AP radiographs were taken in a standing position pre-and postoperativly and hallux valgus angle(HV angle)and intermetatarsal angle(IM 1~2 angle)were measured accordingly. The efficacy of the surgery was evaluated by JOA scoring for foot disorders.[Result]The fracture healing was excellent. There was no case of delay union and nonunion. Two cases(three feet)were found to have superficial infection. The mean HV angle and IM 1~2 angle was revised by 15.6? and 4.2? respectively.JOA score was elevated for 29.6 points.[Conclusion]Hallux valgus can be corrected in three-dimension by the technique of first metatarsal neck osteotomy and inverted impaction fixation.

Objective To study the common imaging characters of the human tissues such as tumors in MRI based on hysteromyoma in hope of getting the results that the same tissue has the same MR characters and identifying the common, comparatively steady MR figs sectional area which can provide related references for the computer-based automatic recognition orgnization and basis for the question such as whether the same MR figs has the same hyperacoustic impedance characters. Methods We analysed all the images with hysteromyoma on MRI T2 and got the rules on MR figs change with the application of the MRI image analysing software which specially designed by Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 for the research.Results(1)No significant difference was found in MR figs sectional area in the different periods of the same patient under the same MRI test condition.(2)No significant difference was found in MR figs sectional area in different patients under the same MRI test condition.(3)Significant difference was found in MR figs sectional area after the patient received the HIFU treatment under the same MRI test condition.Conclusion(1)Human tissues have some common MRI imaging characters in the same MRI test equipment under the same MRI test condition.(2)Imaging characters of the human body tissues in MRI can be altered after HIFU treatment.

Methods The separation was performed on a luna C8 (2) (150 mm×4.6 mm, 5μm) column with the mobile phase of methanol-water (88∶12, v/v) at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min, the detection wavelength was set at 210 nm, and the temperature of the column was maintained at 35 ℃. Results The calibration curve of β-Sitosterol was linear over the concentration range of 0.075-0.375 mg/mL (r=0.9999) and the average recovery of β-Sitosterol was 96.30% with RSD of 3.60%(n=3). Conclusion The method is simple, rapid, and accurate, and can be used for the quality control of Elaeagnus Gonyanthes Benth.
