Objective To investigate the expression and role of inflammatory cytokines like interleukin-1β(IL-1β)、interleukin-6(IL-6)、interleukin-8(IL-8) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α)in epiretinal membranes(ERM)of eyes with proliferative vitreoretinopathy(PVR).Methods Nineteen epiretinal membranes were obtained from eyes undergoing vitrectomy for retinal detachment complicated with PVR and observed by immunohistochemical methods. Results Expression of IL-1β、IL-6、IL-8 and TNF-α were observed in 9、12、11and 15 membranes respectively, with positive staining mostly in the extracellular matrix of epiretinal membranes. Only one membrane showed positive to IL-6 intracellularly, expression for all the cytokines simultaneously in 4 membranes. Conclusion The findings indicate that cytokine-mediated pathways of inflammation are involved in the pathogenesis of PVR.

Objective To compare the recent clinical efficacy between ileal neobladder and orthotopic ileal neobladder. Methods The clinical data of 62 patients with bladder cancer who were performed with cystectomy plus urinary diversion were retrospectively analyzed.Among them,32 patients were performed with orthotopic ileal neobladder(orthotopic ileal neobladder group)and 30 patients were performed with ileal neobladder(ileal neobladder group). The operation time, intraoperative bleeding, intestinal function recovery time, hospital stay, early postoperative complications were compared between two groups. Results All the patients were successful, and there was no operative deaths occurred. There was no significant difference in the postoperative intestinal function recovery time between two groups(P > 0.05).The operation time, intraoperative bleeding, hospital stay in orthotopic ileal neobladder group was higher than that in ileal neobladder group [(463.59 ± 50.24)min vs.(436.07 ± 44.91)min,(1081.16 ± 320.49)ml vs.(867.53 ± 224.61)ml,(46.88 ± 4.67)d vs.(20.37 ± 5.24)d],but the incidence of early postoperative complications in orthotopic ileal neobladder group was lower than that in ileal neobladder group [25.0%(8/32)vs.53.3%(16/30)],and there were significant differences between two groups(P <0.05).Conclusions Two kinds of urinary diversion surgical urinary diversion are clinically more mature manner,in clinical practice.Clinicians should be based on the patient's comprehensive situation, combined with the clinical experience to select the most appropriate surgical procedures.

Serum IL-1,IL-6 and IL-8 were determined by subjects-using enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA technique) in 40 children with bronchial asthma consisting of 20 cases in the acute stage and 20 cases in the remission stage, and another 20 health children as normal control, respectively. The results showed that the levels of serum IL-1(11.9pg/ml±2.84pg/ml),IL-6(0.75ng/ml±0.3ng/ml)and IL-8(0.08ng/ml±0.05ng/ml)in the acute stage were significantly higher than those in the remission stage(8.41pg/ml±0.05pg/ml(IL-1),0.49ng/ml±0.08ng/ml(IL-6)and 0.02ng/ml±0.01ng/ml(IL-8)) and in the normal children (8.4pg/ml±0.32pg/ml(IL-1),0.4ng/ml±0.09ng/ml(IL-6)and 0.02ng/ml±0.02ng/ml(IL-8)),respectively.Further more, there were a significant positive correlation between IL-1 and IL-6 or IL-8(P<0.01).It is concluded that IL-1 may involve in the pathologic process of asthma like IL-6 and IL-8,and an inflammatory reaction may still exist in the airway during the remission stage of asthma. The imbalances of cytokine network may probably be important reason as a molecular basis in the asthma pathogenesis. It is suggested that it can be valuable to predict an acute attack of asthma when the levels of these cytokines increase.

【Objective】 To evaluate the performance of electrochemiluminescence immunoassay (ECLIA) in detecting HIV antigen/antibody in blood screening. 【Methods】 A total of 128 donors, reactive to anti-HIV(ELISA)testing, from September 2016 to September 2020 were enrolled, and seven samples were reactive to double anti-HIV reagents, among which 6 were confirmed by WB, 1 confirmed by NAT as negative. Two group of donors, reactive to solo anti-HIV reagent but being confirmed negative by WB(n=121) vs.randomly selected donors non-reactive to ELISA + NAT(June to September 2020, n=1360), were subjected to HIV antigen/antibody testing using ECLIA to compare the testing results, including concordance rate, sensitivity and specificity. 【Results】 The ECLIA results remained non-reactive for 1360 samples initially non-reactive to both ELISA and NAT.The concordance rate of anti-HIV reactivity by ECLIA and ELISA+ WB were 100%(6/6). For 122 samples, reactive to ELISA anti-HIV testing but nonreactive to confirmatory testing, 4(3.28%)of them were reactive to HIV antigen/antibody testing and 118(96.72%) nonreactive, with the concordance rate of ECLIA and ELISA at 96.88%(124/128). The sensitivity, specificity and false positive rate of ECLIA and ELISA were 100% vs 100%, 99.73% vs 91.77%, and 0.27% vs 8.23%, respectively. 【Conclusion】 ECLIA for HIV antigen/antibody detection has good sensitivity and specificity, which can meet the requirements of blood screening, and the false positive rate is lower than that of ELISA, adopted commonly in blood bank at present.
