1.Effects of chemotherapy via regional arterial perfasion on lymph node metastasis of pancreatic cancer
Chinese Journal of Hepatobiliary Surgery 2010;16(3):232-234
Regional arterial intra-chemotherapy (RAIC) was an effective method of combined therapy for pancreatic carcinoma, which could elevate the regional con-centration of anticancer agents for sufficient dosage in pan-creas, reduce the systemic adverse events, increase the toler-ation of chemotherapy. It could also increase the concentra-tion of anticancer agents in regional lymph node of pancreas, thus decrease the lymph node metastasis. The mechanism of RAIC for pancreatic cancer and the impact for lymph node metastasis needed to be further investigated.
2.Evaluation of neuron-specific enolase and C-reactive protein on the severity and prognosis of acute cerebral infarction
Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2009;32(31):15-17
Objective To investigate the levels of serum neuron-specific enolase (NSE) and C-reactive protein ( CRP ) in patients with acute cerebral infarction, and its value on prognosis. Methods The levels of serum NSE and CRP were compared in 92 acute cerebral infarction patients (observation group) and 45 healthy (control group). The relationship between the levels of NSE, CRP and the degree of neurological damage and infarction location were analyzed. Results The levels of serum NSE and CRP were significantly higher in observation group than those in control group (P< 0.01). In observation group, the levels of serum NSE and CRP were higher in heavy patients [ (35.63 ± 7.12) μg/L, (13.82 ± 3.57) mg/L] than those in mild or medium patients [(17.24 ± 5.32) μg/L, (5.61 ± 2.35) mg/L and (26.08 ±5.91) μg/L, (9.07 ±2.14) mg/L,respectively](P<0.01). There was no significant difference in the levels of serum NSE and CRP in different infarction location(P > 0.05 ). Conclusion The level of serum NSE and CRP is an index in reflecting the degree of neurological damage, and they can be used in evaluating patient's condition and prognosis.

Chinese Journal of Dermatology 1995;0(01):-
To investigate the predisposing role of HLA-DR genes to systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), We used polymerase chain reaction and sequence specific oligonucleotide (PCR/SSO) probe hybridization to type HLA-DR subregion in the patients with SLE of Han nationality from Jiangsu province and matched control subjects. The results indicated that DR2 gene frequency was significantly more frequent in patients than that in controls. Whereas DR4 significantly decreased in patients compared with controls. It suggests that DR2 or the other unidentified genes tightly linked to it might be the susceptible genes of SLE. Whereas DR4 might have a protective effect on SLE.

Objective To discuss the application value of DWI and ADC on predicting therapeutic effect of radiotherapy treatment in NPC. Methods Twenty four local recurrent cases and 38 non-recurrent cases after radiotherapy treatment in NPC were reviewed. MRI and DWI-MRI were performed at pre-radiotherapy and 3, 6, 12 months after treatment, the ADC values of the lesions were analyzed by SPSS 18.0 statistical software. ROC curves based on the ADC values were measured in 3, 6, 12 months after treatment plotted to analyze the threshold ADC value for confirming recurrence. Results The recurrent group and newly diagnosed group showed significantly high signal on DWI, while the non-recurrent group acquired low or mixed signal. The ADC values of the primary tumor in the recurrent group and the non-recurrent group were (0.709 ± 0.078) × 10-3 and (0.693 ± 0.089) × 10-3mm2/s, respectively, t=-0.717,P>0.05, respectively. The ADC values of the primary and recurrent tumor in the recurrent group were (0.730± 0.068) × 10-3mm2/s and (0.709 ± 0.078) × 10-3mm2/s, t=-1.000,P>0.05 , respectively. There were statistical differences between the recurrent group and the non-recurrent group for ADC in 3, 6, 12 months after treatment:(1.128 ± 0.179) × 10-3 and (1.358 ± 0.145) × 10-3mm2/s, t=5.567,P<0.01;(1.164 ± 0.174) and (1.450 ± 0.102) × 10-3mm2/s, t=7.310,P<0.01;(1.107 ± 0.180) × 10-3 and (1.584 ± 0.125) × 10-3mm2/s, t=11.189,P<0.01;respectively. Take 1.29 × 10-3 mm2/s,1.32 × 10-3mm2/s,1.37 × 10-3mm2/s respectively in 3, 6, 12months after treatment as the diagnostic threshold to predict tumor recurrence. The sensitive , specificity, and accuracy were (83.3%, 73.7%, 77.4%), (83.3%, 89.5%, 87.1%), (100.0%, 94.7%, 96.3%).Conclusions Both DWI and ADC value are important for diagnosing and predicting recurrent NPC after radiotherapy treatment, DWI and ADC can be used to regular follow-up after radiotherapy, to further improve the rate of early diagnosis of recurrent NPC.

AIM:To clarify if interferon-?(IFN-?), tumor necrosis factor-?(TNF-?)and interleukin-1?(IL-1?)can induce apoptosis of human airway smooth muscle cells (ASMCs) in vitro. METHODS: Human ASMCs were isolated and cultured in DMEM containing 10% fetal bovine serum. Passage 4-6 cell was used in the experiment. IFN-?,TNF-? and IL-1?, were used separately or together in the treatment of human ASMCs. The effects of IFN-?,TNF-? and IL-1? on the growth of the cells was detected by MTT method at the hour 0,24,48 and 72. Light microscopy and electron microscopy were used to examine the morphological change. DNA fragmentation was analyzed by agarose gel electrophoresis. SP immunohistological staing method was performed to detect the change of expressions of p53 , bcl-2 and bax gene. The apoptosis cell percentage were detected by in situ end labeling technique (TUNEL)of fragmental DNA. RESULTS: (1)IFN-? or IFN-? together with TNF-? and IL-1? decreased the number of viable cells in a time dependent manner. (2) Light and electron microscopic examination showed cell shrinkage, membrane blebbing, nuclear contraction, chromatin condensation and nuclear fragmentation in human ASMCs. (3) Agarose gel electrophoresis showed a characteristic"ladder"of DNA bands representing integer multiples of the internucleosomal fragments (about 180-200 bp) in cytokine cotreated human ASMCs. (4)The expression of p53 and bax gene in cytokine cotreated group was significantly higher than in control group, but the expression of bcl-2 gene was lower than in control group. (5)Stimultaneous treatment with IFN-?(4?10 5 U/L),TNF-?(4?10 5 U/L)and /or IL-1? (10?10 4 U/L) induced apoptosis of human ASMCs. Apoptotic index of human ASMCs in cytokine co-treated group was significantly higher than in control group ( P
