Objective To investigate the mental health status of adults with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)infection or acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS).Methods Ninety-four patients with HIV infection or AIDS and 38 healthy subjects were enrolled and filled in the Symptom Checklist 90(SCL-90),Coping Styles Questionnaire(CSQ)and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire(EPQ).Resultsin SCL-90,the scores of compulsion ,depression,anxiety and psychoticism factor were significantly increased in the patient group(all P＜0.05).In the study group,the scores of depression and paranoid ideation factors of male patients were higher than those of female patients.For the participants with HIV infection or AIDS,several factors of SCL-90 were correlative with CSQ and EPQ(r=0.21 to 0.70).ConclusionEmotional disorders may be the most common mental problem of patients with HIV infection or AIDS,and social and psychological supports should be needed.

ABSTRACT:To understand the status of contamination and antimicrobial resistance of Staphylococcus aureus (S .aureus) isolated from raw cow milk ,600 samples were collected from five different provinces in China .After isolation and identification of S .aureus from these samples ,157 S .aureus isolates were obtained .Furthermore ,their resistant phenotype and resistant gene were analyzed by MIC detection ,as well as nine drug‐resistance genes determination and analysis .The result revealed that most of the S .aureus isolates contained multiple antibiotic resistant genes ,and all of the isolates were resistant to penicillin . Of 98 .73% isolates were resistant to amoxicillin .Conversely ,all of the isolates were sensitive to enrofloxacin and vancomycin . Moreover ,there were 29 MRSA positive strains among which 22 strains carrying femA gene .In conclusion ,much more atten‐tion should be paid to the drug‐resistance capabilities of field S .aureus isolates in raw cow milk ,and further monitoring of drug resistant S .aureus strains in milk should also be strengthened so as to ensure milk safety .

BACKGROUND: There are no effective methods to cure Alzheimer disease (AD). Now, researches have shown that panax notoginseng saponins (PNS) play an important role in improving AD, but its mechanism is unclear.OBJECTIVE: To observe the protective effect of PNS characterized by removing blood stasis to stop bleeding and promoting blood circulation to relieve pain on pathological lesion of cholinergic neuron in rat with AD.DESIGN: Completely randomized grouping design and controlled study.SETTING: Neuroscience Institute of Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medical University.MATERIALS: This experiment was completed in the Chinese Herb Pharmacodynamic Laboratory of Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medical University between June 2003 and April 2005. A total of 90 health Wistar rats of clean grade and half gender were selected in this study. Among them, there were 75 old rats with 15 months old and 15 young rats with 3 months old. METHODS: This experiment was completed in the Chinese herb Pharmacodynamic Laboratory (Key Laboratory) of Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medical University between June 2003 and April 2005. ① A total of 90 healthy Wistar rats of clean grade and half gender were selected in this study. Among them, there were 75 old rats with 15 months old and 15 young rats with 3 months old. Fifteen young rats with 3 months old were regarded as young control group, and other 15 selected from 75 rats with 15 months old were regarded as old control group. The rest 60 rats were modeled on the basis of subacute injury induced by intravenous injection of D-galactose and bilateral cerebral Meynert basal nuclei injured by ibotenic acid. Parallel control was performed with saline on rats in young control group and old control group under the same condition. ② Two weeks later,survival modeling rats were divided randomly into 4 groups: model group,high-dosage PNS group, low-dosage PNS group and huperzine A group with 12 in each group. Rats in high-and low-dosage PNS groups were perfused with 200 and 100 mg/kg PNS (provided by Yunnan Yuxi Weihe Pharmaceutical Factory), respectively, once a day; rats in huperzine A group were perfused with 0.3 mg/kg huperzine A once a day for 4 weeks; rats in model group, young control group and old control group were perfused with the same volume of saline for 4 weeks. ③ After administration, pathological sections of brain tissue were cut, and immunologic-reaction activity of choline acetyltransferase (ChAT), morphological changes and numbers of positive neuron in cerebral sections were determined by immunohistochemistry analysis. ChAT immuno-positive neurons were analyzed with IBAS imaging analysis system to assay average area of section and average absorbance (A), and amount of ChAT immuno-positive neurons was calculated with microscope micrometer. ④ Measurement data were compared with single-factor analysis of variance.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Effect of PNS on distribution of cholinergic neuron and ChAT content in cerebral tissue of AD rat models.RESULTS: A total of 75 old rats and 15 young rats entered the final analysis. ① Amount of ChAT immuno-positive neurons was the most, and the color was the deepest in young control group; amount of ChAT immuno-positive neurons was higher in high-dosage PNS group than that in huperzine A group and model group; ChAT immuno-positive neurons were smaller in model group than those in other goups, and the amount was decreased obviously. Axis-cylinder and dendrite of soma were shortened remarkably. ② Amounts of ChAT immuno-positive neurons in basal forebrain were less in model group than those in other groups (P ＜ 0.05), less in lowdosage PNS group, huperzine A group and model group than those in old control group (P ＜ 0.05), less in huperzine A group and model group than those in high- and low-dosage PNS group (P ＜ 0.05), and less in young control group than those in other groups (P ＜ 0.05). The mean A value of ChAT immuno-positive neurons in basal forebrain was similar to amounts in each group. Average area of section of ChAT immuno-positive neurons in basal forebrain was smaller in low-dosage PNS group and model group than that in young control group (P ＜ 0.05), and differences in other groups were not significant (P ＞ 0.05).CONCLUSION: PNS plays a protective role in pathological lesion of cholinergic neuron in AD rat models. PNS can also increase survival amount and quality of cell and increase content and activity of ChAT so as to protect and improve central cholinergic system, and inhibit aging and dementia through improving and repairing injured cholinergic neurons.

Objective To investigate the role of autophagy in radiation-induced death response of human nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells.Methods MTT method was used to detect cell viability of CNE-2 cells in different time after irradiation.Clonogenic survival assay was used to evaluate the effect of autophagy inhibitor (chloroquine phosphate) and autophagy inductor (rapamycin) on radiosensitivity of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells.Cell apoptosis was assessed by flow cytometry.The expressions of LC3 and P62 were measured with Western blot.Cell ultrastructural analysis was performed under an electron microscope.Results Irradiation with 10 Gy induced a massive accumulation of autophagosomes accompanied with up-regulation of LC3-Ⅱ expression in CNE-2 cells.Compared with radiation alone,chloroquine phosphate (CDP) enhanced radiosensitivity significantly by decreasing cell viability (F =25.88,P ＜ 0.05),autophagic ratio (F =105.15,P ＜ 0.05),and LC3-Ⅱ protein level(F =231.68,P ＜0.05),while up-regulating the expression of P62 (F =117.52,P ＜ 0.05).Inhibition of autophagy increased radiation-induced apoptosis (F =143.72,P ＜ 0.05).Rapamycin (RAPA) also significantly decreased cell viability,but increased autophagic ratio and LC3-Ⅱ protein level while down-regulated the expression of P62.Induction of autophagy increased radiation-induced apoptosis(F =167.32,P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions Blockage of autophagy with CDP could enhance radiosensitivity in human nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells,suggesting that inhibition of autophagy could be used as an adjuvant treatment to nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

Objective To evaluate the feasibility of wholeGtumor texture analysis of contrastGenhanced T1 WI (T1 Ce)in differentiating cystic glioma (CG)from brain abscess (BA).Methods MRI data of 25 cases of ringGenhanced CG and 24 cases of BA proven pathologically were retrospectively studied.All the patients underwent preGsurgery MRI plain and contrastGenhanced scans.FireVoxel software was used to outline the ROI of the wholeGtumor.The signal intensity histogram and related texture parameters of the 3D ROI were obtained,including mean, median,standard deviation,inhomogeneity,skewness,kurtosis and entropy.The data were first tested for normality and the differences in wholeG tumor texture analysis parameters of T1 Ce between CGs and BAs were compared using the independentGsample t test(normal distribution)and MannGWhitney rank sum test (skewed distribution).ROC curve was used to evaluate the efficacy of the parameter in differentiating CG from BA.Results There were statistical significances in the parameters of mean,median,standard deviation,inhomogeneity and skewness between CGs and BAs(P＜0.05),and there were no any statistical significances in kurtosis and entropy between CGs and BAs(P＞0.05).In all the texture parameters,the AUC of inhomogeneity was the largest(0.988),and when the threshold was 0.314, the sensitivity and the specificity were 92.60% and 9 7.1 0%,respectively.Conclusion Some of the quantitative parameters of the wholeGtumor texture analysis of T1 Ce(mean,median,standard deviation,inhomogeneity and skewness)could provide reliable and objective evidences for imaging differential diagnosis of CG and BA preGsurgery.

Objective To investigate the significant of peripheral CD4+CD69+T lymphocytes in patients with autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA)/Evans syndrome (ES).Methods In this study peripheral blood samples from 32 patients with AIHA/ES (15 hemolytic episode patients,17 remission patients) and 13 healthy controls were collected.Patients with AIHA/ES were recruited in Tianjin Medical University General Hospital from October 2015 to May 2016.The percentages of CD69+ T lymphocytes were analyzed by flow cytometry.The expression of CD69 mRNA in CD4+T lymphocytes which was sorted from peripheral blood by magnetic activated cell sorting (MACS) was detected using real-time PCR.Soluable CD69 was measured by ELISA.Results In hemolytic episode patients,the ratio of CD3+CD69+/CD3+T lymphocytes [(3.08 ± 1.48)％] was significantly higher than that in healthy controls [(1.28 ± 0.83)％,P＜0.01] and in remission group[(1.96± 1.33)％,P＜0.05].The absolute count of CD3+CD69+T lymphocytes in hemolytic episode group [(2.94± 1.81)× 107/L] was higher than that in healthy controls [(1.48± 1.42)× 107/L,P＜0.05].The ratio of CD3+CD4+CD69+/CD3+CD4+T cells in hemolytic episode group [(2.16± 1.56)％] was significantly higher than that in remission group [(1.16±0.62)％,P＜0.05] and healthy controls[(0.94±0.78)％,P＜0.05].The quantity of CD3+CD4+CD69+T lymphocytes in hemolytic episode group[(1.04±0.98)× 107/L] was higher than in healthy controls [(0.44± 0.38) × 107 / L,P＜0.05].The ratio of CD3+CD8+CD69+/CD3+ CD8+T lymphocyte in hemolytic episode group [(4.87±2.56)％] was significantly higher than that in healthy controls[(1.83± 1.27)％,P＜0.01].The quantity of CD3+CDs+CD69+T lymphocytes in three groups did not show significant difference.The ratio of CD3+CD4+CD69+/CD3+CD4+T lymphocytes in hemolytic episode group was negatively correlated with hemoglobin (Hb) (P＜0.01),positively correlated with the percentage of reticulocytes (Ret％)(P=0.01)total bilirubin(TBil),indirect bilirubin(IBil) (P＜0.01) and not correlated with absolute reticulocytes count,lactic dehydrogenase (LDH),complement 3(C3),complement 4 (C4).The ratio of CD3+CD4+CD69+/CD3+CD4+T lymphocytes in remission group was negatively correlated with Hb (P＜0.05).In hemolytic episode patients CD69 mRNA (32.26±35.11) was significantly higher than that in remission group(6.05±5.87)(P＜0.05)and healthy controls (1.76± 1.85)(P＜0.01).CD69 mRNA in remission group was significantly higher than healthy controls (P＜0.05).Serum CD69 in hemolytic episode patients [(494.21 ± 16.06) ng/L] was significantly higher than that in healthy controls [(441.39± 104.6) ng/L,P＜0.05].Conclusion Our findings suggest that the proportion of CD4+CD69+ T lymphocytes increase in AIHA/ES patients,which is correlated with the severity of disease.

Objective To investigate the effect of breast conserving surgery on neurotensin (NTS) and its receptor 1(NTR1) in patients with breast cancer.Methods From May 2012 to May 2015,200 patients with breast cancer,aged 44.7 years(range,32-56 years),were treated at Tiantan Hospital,Capital Medical University.All patients were divided into control group (n =100) and observation group (n =100).The patients in the control group were treated with radical operation and the patients in the observation group were treated with breastconserving surgery.The positive rate of NTS and NTR1 before and 1 week after operation,WHOQOL-100 (It includes four aspects:physiological state,psychological state,environmental condition and social function) 1 d before surgery,3 months and 6 months after surgery,and the incidence of postoperative complications 1 week after surgery were compared between the two groups.Measurement data with normal distribution were described as mean± standard deviation (Mean ± SD) and analyzed by the t test.Count data were analyzed by chi-square test.Results The positive rate of NTS (17.00％) in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group (36.00％) (t =9.267,P =0.002),The positive rate of NTR1 (19.00％) was significantly lower than that in the control group (33.00％) (t =5.094,P =0.024).The physiological status,psychological state,environmental condition and social function of 3 months after surgery of the observation group were (62.57 ± 5.73),(63.48 ±5.91),(68.73 ±6.32),(64.06 ±5.94) scores,respectively,and the control group were (53.47 ±5.38),(55.62 ±5.54),(60.38 ±6.14),(55.86 ±5.66) scores,respectively,showing statistically significant differences between the two groups (P ＜ 0.05).The physiological status,psychological state,environmental condition and social function of 6 months after surgery were (73.74 ±t 6.19),(76.27 ± 6.32),(78.85 ±6.77),(73.53 ±6.58) scores in the observation group,and (64.18 ±5.67),(67.38 ±6.02),(69.64 ± 6.43),(63.28 ± 6.17) scores in the control group,showing statistically significant differences between the two groups (P ＜ 0.05).The incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group (6.00％) was significantly lower than that in the control group (18.00％) (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Breast conserving surgery can reduce the expression level of NTS and NTR1 in breast cancer patients,It is related to reducing the incidence of postoperative complications and improving the quality of life of patients.
