AIM: To explore the influence of Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat on TNF-related apoptosis inducing ligand (TRAIL)-mediated apoptosis in human colon cancer cell line DLD-1 and its possible mechanism. METHODS: Adenovirus-mediated TRAIL gene AD/hTERT-gTRAIL was applied either alone or by combination with Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat in human colon DLD-1 cell line. Cell growth and apoptosis were measured by inverted microscope, MTT method and flow cytometry. The expression of TRAIL mRNA, TRAIL-Rs mRNA and TRAIL protein expression after exposure to Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat were measured by semi-quantitive RT-PCR and FACS, respectively. RESULTS: The suppression percentages and apoptotic rate of DLD-1 by Ad/hTERT-gTRAIL alone were 31.4% and 13.5%, respectively. 2.Determination of Early Renal Damage with Ultrasound Doppler Renal Blood Flow Measurement in Essential Hypertension

Objective:To evaluate the value of ultrasound Doppler renal blood flow measurement in diagnosing early renal damage of hypertension. Methods:Eighty patients with hypertension and 20 normotensive subjects were included in this study. They were classified into four groups according to blood or urine β2-MG contents and urinary albumin excretion rate(UAER). All patients were measured by ultrasound Doppler renal blood flow. Correlation analysis was performed between β2-MG or UAER and the parameters of renal blood flow measurement. Results:(1)Peak velocity in systole(Vs)、end diastolic velocity(Vd) decreased and pulsed index(PI)、resistance index(RI) of segmental and interlobar artery increased in all hypertensives with early renal damage. PI of interlobar artery more than 1.00 and/or RI more than 0.60 is associated with early renal damage in hypertensives;(2)Hypertensives with diabetes and early renal damage have higher Vs and lower Vd and significant increased RI、PI. Compared with hypertensives with early renal damage,hypertensives with diabetes had more serious renal damage at the equivalent DBP level. Conclusion:Ultrasound Doppler renal blood flow measurement may be clinically useful in the noninvasive evaluation of early renal damage of hypertension.
3.Down-regulated genes screening and novel genes cloning by cDNA microarray and suppression subtraction library in gastric cancer

Objective To screen down regulated genes and find down regulated novel genes in gastric cancer. Methods Genes mRNA expression were detected between gastric cancer and normal gastric mucous membrane of five patients using cDNA microarray. Genes mRNA expression signals on hybridization membranes were analysized with computer software. Down regulated genes in gastric cancer were screened. cDNA suppression subtraction library was established by counterpart normal gastric mucous membrane mRNA(Tester) subtracting gastric cancer tissues mRNA(Driver) of five patients. After identification of the subtraction library, positive clones choosen randomly were sequenced , and down regulated novel genes in gastric cancer were screened. Some of the genes were identified by RT PCR.Results Down regulated genes in gastric cancer consist of 60 genes including tumor suppressing genes, apoptosis related genes, DNA replication and transcript or translate related genes, cell cycle related genes, cell migration related genes, etc. Two unknown gene fragments in gastric cancer were cloned. Conclusions Sixty down regulated genes in gastric cancer are confirmed. They are involved in gastric tumorigenicity and metastasis. cDNA subtraction library of gastric cancer was constructed successfully. Two down regulated novel gene fragments in gastric cancer was found.
4. Investigation on demands for antenatal care services among 2 002 pregnant women during the epidemic of coronavirus disease 2019 in Shanghai

Objective:
To identify problems and demands for antenatal care (ANC) among pregnant women in different trimesters of pregnancy in Shanghai for optimizing ANC service during the epidemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Methods:
Organized by Maternal and Child Health Care institute in the 16 districts of Shanghai, a cross sectional study was conducted among pregnant women who came to pregnancy registration in the community health centers or attended ANC in maternity hospitals from February 7 to February 12, 2020. Consented participating women completed a semi-structured online questionnaire voluntarily. Data was analyzed using frequency and scoring, chi-square test.
Results:
A total of 2 002 valid questionnaires were collected from 183 community health centers and 67 midwifery hospitals. About 94.6% of the pregnant women worried about being infected during the COVID-19 epidemic, and 14.7% demanded for psychological consultation. Appointment ANC services were requested by 87.7% of the participants for avoiding presenting themselves in people-density places. Compared with other pregnancy trimesters, pregnant women in the second trimester were more willing to reduce the frequency of ANC (48.1% VS. 39.5% VS. 35.2%,
