AIM:To develop a RP-HPLC method for simultaneously determining three major compounds in Qingre Mingmu Tea(Semen Cassiae,Flos crysanthemi,etc),namely emodin,chrysophanol and physcion with UV detection wavelength at 254 nm. METHODS: The column was Diamonsil C_(18)(250 mm?4.6 mm i.d,5 ?m).The separation was carried out with a gradient program.The mobile phase was acetonitrile-0.1% phosphoric acid at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. RESULTS: The standard curve was rectilinear in the range of 5.335213.4 ng(r=(0.999 8)) for emodin,9.075-363.0 ng(r=0.999 8) for chrysophanol,and 4.688-187.5 ng(r=1.000 0) for physcion,respectively.The recoveries of the markers listed above were 96.0%,106.5% and 98.1%,respectively. CONCLUSION: The method is simple,rapid and suitable for the determination of three compounds in Qingre(Mingmu) Tea.

Objective: To review the influence of various processing methods on the content of baicalin in radix Scutellariae and its preparations. Method: The content of baicalin was determined by HPLC. Results: The content of baicalin decreased evidently when the brocessing method was in appropriate. Conclusion: Improper processing method can decrease the content of baicalin, and frying and carbonizing destroyed baicalin seriously.

Objective:To evaluate the safety of one-lung ventilation and artificial hydrothorax to aid HIFU treatment of liver carcinoma located in distal end of diaphragm and edge of liver and to observe the related indices in the treatment.Methods:Twelve patients with liver carcinoma received general anesthesia using double lumen endobronchial tube bi-chamber trachea cannula.Saline was injected into right thoracic cavity to turn artificial pleural fluid.During HIFU treatment,left lung had a ventilation with 100% FiO_2.Before cannula(value of Base);one lung was ventilated(DLV) for 15 mins,30 mins,60mins,120mins,then double lungs received ventilation again for 30mins(DLV'30).And blood gas was analyzed separately.Vital monitoring machine kept observing ECG,HR,MAP,S_pO_2,and PETCO2.One day and seven days after HIFU,X-ray was made to evaluate the outcome of hydrothorax.Results:All the patients were steady in blood gas and hemodynamic indices at the period of one-lung ventilation with artificial hydrothorax.The indices of PO_2 were higher during one-or two-lung ventilation than Base (P

Objective To observe and evaluate the effect of glycolic acid peels in the treatment of acne and scars,and to approach the indications,process and security.Methods 34 patients with acne were chosen.Glycolic acid of 20 ％,35 ％,50 ％,and 70 ％ concentration was used for chemical peeling therapy for 5 times.The concentration of glycolic acid was increased every three weeks.The efficacy was evaluated by comparison of the lesion counts before and after the course.Patients were assigned to fulfil the questionnaire to assess the follicular orifice,secretion of sebaceous glands,smooths,whiteness,scar,influence to living and satisfaction.Results 34 patients completed the course.4 patients were cured,15 patients were greatly improved,12 patients were improved,and 3 patients had no effectiveness.The efficacy rate was 91.18 ％.After treatment,73.53 ％ of the patients showed improvement in follicular orifice,55.88 ％ of the patients showed that secretion of sebaceous glands was decreased,82.35 ％ of the patients had improvement in smoothness,61.77 ％ of the patients had improvement in whiteness,and 67.65 ％ of the patients had decrease in scar formation.Conclusions Glycolic acid peeling is proved an effective,well accepted,and safe treatment for mild to moderate acne.The follicular orifice,secretion of sebaceous glands,skin smoothness,whiteness and scars could be also improved after treatment.

Objective To investigate the impact of triptolide (TP) on proliferation and apoptosis of imatanib resistant CML cell (K562/G01) and its regulating effect on Wnt/β3-catenin signal pathway.Methods A series of 10,20,40,and 80 nmol/L of triptolide were used in CML cells K562/G01 for 12,24,and 48 hours.The cell proliferation was detected with methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) test.The apoptosis was assessed with flow cytometry (FCM).The mRNA expressions of breakpoint cluster region-c-abl (BCR-ABL),β-catenin and its down-stream targets Lef-1,and cyclinD1 were analyzed with real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR),respectively.Results Triptolide significantly inhibited K562/G01 cell growth ability and induced apoptosis in a dose-dependent manner.Mter being treated with 20,40 nmol/L TP for 24 hours,the cell growth inhibition rates were (22.62 ± 1.33) ％,and (51.41 ±1.39) ％,respectively.The late apuptosis rates were (6.91 ± 0.14) ％,and (7.64 ± 0.47) ％,respectively.Meanwhile,PCR data showed that the mRNA levels of BCR-ABL were decreased,compared to the control group,the mRNA levels of β-catenin,Lef-1,and cyclinD1 were also decreased obviously after treatment.Conclusions Our data indicated that the triptolide could inhibit the proliferation and induce the apoptosis of K562/G01,and the mechanism might be related to the blockade of Wnt/β-catenin signal pathway.

In order to investigate some requisite conditions for the formation of mycelial phase of Pityrosporum orbiculare (P. orb) and understand indirectly the pathogenesis of tinea versicolor, we used a semisolid medium containing cholesterol 1. 0g/dl and agar 0.8g/dl, and obtained the mycelial phase of P. orb. Then we studied the relationship between the formation of the mycelial phase and the concentration of cholesterol or agar in the medium. The results showed that when P. orb were cultured on the medium, the hyphae began to grow on the 4-6th day, increased gradually, and peaked on the 10-12th day. The hyphae were mostly blastohyphae, 8-16?m in length and in the shape of racket,and distributed in clustes. It was found that 0. 25g/dl was the minimum concentration of cholesterol to induce the mycelial phase in vitro. Within the range of 0. 25-1.0g/dl the higher the concentration was, the more the hyphae were. When the concentration exceeded 1.0g/dl, the hyphae did not increase markedly. Relative high moisture (0.8g/dl of agar in the medium) was suitable for the production of the hyphae. The results suggest that the occurrence and recurrence of tinea versicolor in summer probably relate to the change of choleserol concentration on the surface of the skin after the evaporation of sweat.

This paper was aimed to discuss the mechanism of aristolchic acid toxicity, pathogenesis and possible causes of aristolchic acid nephropathy. Recent published studies both at home and abroad were summarized on the impact of aristolchic acid on the incidence and progression of aristolchic acid nephropathy. The results showed that traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) containing aristolchic acid was closely associated with the incidence of aristolchic acid nephropathy. It was concluded that the paper provided some suggestions on preventing aristolchic acid nephropathy.
