China Oncology 2013;(11):930-934
As a kind of non-invasive functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) techniques, arterial spin labeling (ASL) takes full advantage of arterial blood as an endogenous tracer to track changes of blood lfow caused by lesions and to obtain the physiological and pathological information of relative tissues avoiding patients’ discomfort and potential danger. This review focused on working principle and categories of ASL, the comparisons with other methods, clinical application, and future prospects of ASL.
4.The progress of biodegradable biliary stents
Chinese Journal of Hepatobiliary Surgery 2013;(5):390-393
Biodegradable stents have achieved encouraging outcomes in the treatment of benign bile duct stenosis with good biocompatibility, unique biodegradation, and adept physical and mechanical performance. They have a higher biocompatibility than plastic and metal stents and do not require a second surgery for removal. This prevents adverse reactions like restenosis and the tendency to punch and bleed. These biodegradable stents provide a new method of treatment for biliary tract disease, and this review will focus on the animal experiments, clinical application, and future prospects of these stents.

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the economic value of Shenqi fuzheng injection combined with chemotherapy vs. chemo-therapy alone for non-small lung cancer(NSCLC),and to provide reference for drug payment and clinical treatment. METHODS:By prospective cohort design,516 patients with non-small cell lung cancer from 11 hospitals were selected as subjects according to the sale distribution of Shenqi fuzheng injection in district and hospital;267 cases of Shenqi fuzheng injection combined with che-motherapy and 249 cases of chemotherapy alone formed naturally according the clinical therapy plan. The cost-effectiveness and cost-utility analysis were conducted using FACT-L score,KPS score and ZPS score as effect index,QALYs as effectiveness index observation period of 21 d. RESULTS:5 dimensions FACT-L score:the patients of Shenqi fuzheng injection combined with chemo-therapy group could be effectively improved, and the cost-effectiveness ratio was lower than chemotherapy alone group;KPS score:the cost-effectiveness ratio of Shenqi fuzheng injection combined with chemotherapy group was lower than chemotherapy alone group (1 632.44 vs. 11 145.30),and incremental cost-effectiveness ratio was 448.69. ZPS score:Shenqi fuzheng injection combined with chemotherapy group was lower than chemotherapy alone(-17 398.77 vs. 384 513.00). Shenqi fuzheng injection combined with chemotherapy group was lower than chemotherapy alone group in average cost per 1 QALYs(1 313 326 yuan vs. 13 374 365 yuan). CONCLUSIONS:Compared with chemotherapy alone group,Shenqi fuzheng injection combined with chemo-therapy can effectively improve the quality of life, and it is worth of spending more money on Shenqi fuzheng injection from the perspective of the pharmacoeconomics.

World Science and Technology-Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2015;17(3):614-619
This article is aimed to establish the method of quality standards for highland barley Monascus.Microscopic and TLC were adopted to identify Araliataibaiensis. Referring the relevant method in Chinese Pharmacopoeia (2010 edition) for the determination of its moisture, total ash, acid insoluble ash and extracts, lovastatin in acid and lactone form was determined using high performance liquid chromatography. The characteristics of highland barley Monascus in microscopic and TLC were obvious and specific. The contents in barley red yeast are: water 6.04%-8.78%, total ash 2.15%-2.92%, acid insoluble ash 0.23%-0.29%, water extracts 27.99%-30.17%; alcohol extracts 14.12%-18.51%. The ranges of lovastatin in acid and lactone form are 0.11%-0.29% and 0.02%-0.08%, respectively. The established method is simple, accurate, reliable and duplicable, and can be used to control the quality of highland barley Monascus.

Objective To investigate the effect of small interference RNA(siRNA) targeting RRM2 on the biological behavior of human osteosarcoma cell line Saos-2 and the molecular mechanisms. Methods RRM2 expression was knocked down in human osteosarcama cell line Saos-2 by RRM2 siRNA.The expression of RRM2 mRNA and protein was determined in human osteosarcoma cell line Saos-2 and human osteoblast-like cell line hFOB1.19 by real time-PCR and Western blot. The cell proliferation was detected by CCK-8.The migration was observed by using transwell system. The apoptotic rate was observed by ELISA.The expression of CyclinD1 and Bcl-2 proteins were detected by Western blot. Results The expression of RRM2 mRNA and protein was higher in Saos-2 than in hFOB1.19.siRRM2 could down-regulate the expression of RRM2 in Saos-2 cells in a time-and concentration-dependent manner.CCK-8 assay showed that si-RRM2 could inhibit the proliferation ability of Saos-2 cells in a time-and concentrationdependent manner, but had no effect on the proliferation of hFOB1.19 cells.Transwell assay indicated that si-RRM2 could inhibit the migration of Saos-2 cells.si-RRM2 combined with adriamycin could increase the apoptosis of Saos-2 cells.Western blot showed that the expression of Cyclin D1 and Bcl-2 were decreased by silencing RRM2.Condusion RRM2 overexpression maybe associate with the osteosarcoma cells proliferation and migration and suppression of its function is a potential therapeutic strategy in osteosarcoma.

China Oncology 2015;(3):199-204
Background and purpose: With characteristic but non-specific features, subsolid pulmonary nodules (SSPN) is closely associated with early lung cancer. This study aimed to estimate the imaging value of SSPN in stageⅠA lung cancer, and summarized the radiological features of various SSPNs, retrospectively. Methods:The clinical data and imaging data of 405 patients with solitary pulmonary nodules (SPNs) from Apr. 2008 to Apr. 2014 at Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center were collected. According to ground-glass opacity (GGO) proportion, SPNs were divided into 3 groups:pure ground-glass opacity (pGGO), mixed ground-glass opacity (mGGO) and solid nodule (SN). The malignant ratios were calculated based on the postoperatively pathological results. Besides, SSPNs were classiifed into stageⅠA lung cancer group and benign lesions group aiming at identifying the differentiating computed tomography (CT) features. Results:Of the enrolled 405 SPN patients, there were 367 SSPNs (including 124 pGGOs and 243 mGGOs) whose incidence in stageⅠA lung cancer group was signiifcantly higher than those in benign group [95.9%(257/268) vs 80.3%(110/137), P<0.001]. The total malignant ratio of SSPN was 70.0%(257/367), mGGO had a higher malignant ratio (72.0%) than those of pGGO (66.1%) and SN (28.9%). The malignant SSPNs were frequently detected in upper lobe of middle-aged women with a higher incidence of irregular edge, spiculation, lobulation and pleural retraction than benign group (P<0.05). Conclusion:SSPN is one of the signiifcantly malignant indicators, and mGGO has the highest malignant tendency. Senility, female, irregular edge, spiculation, lobulation, pleural retraction and pulmonary upper lobe distribution are demonstrated the signiifcant discriminators from benign lesions.
