1.Tumor Patients in Hospital with Subsequent Bacteremia:An Investigation

OBJECTIVE To investigate the situation of the tumor patients with subsequent bacteremia in hospital in order to study the some prevention and controlling measures. METHODS Ten cases in the internal medical department for tumor with the central venous pressure apparatus were analyzed and had the symptom of chilling and hyperpyrexia , and then were carried through the germiculture for the central venous catheter. RESULTS Pathogenic microorganism had been isolated from the hemoculture. CONCLUSIONS Once the patients with the central venous pressure apparatus have the symptoms of unknown infection, it must be consider the possibility of contaminated tube and conduct countermeasures in time.
2.Determination of Sulfurous Anhydride in Rhizoma Dioscoreae by Ion Chromatography-Direct Extraction

Objective:To establish a quantitative analysis method to determine the content of sulfurous anhydride in Rhizoma di-oscoreae by ion chromatography-direct extraction. Methods:Sulfurous anhydride was extracted by KOH solution (25 mmol·L-1). An IonPac? AS11-HC column(250 mm × 4 mm, 9. 0 μm) was used. The column temperature was 20℃, the eluent was KOH solution (20 mmol·L-1 ) at flow rate of 1. 00 ml·min-1 and the conductivity temperature was 20℃. Results:There was a good linear rela-tionship between the injection quantity (1.160-29.100 μg)and the peak area of sulfite(r =0.999 9). The average recovery was 98. 9%(RSD=0. 6%, n=9). The quantitation limit was 1. 38 ng·ml-1. Conclusion: The method is simple, accurate and rapid, which is appropriate for the quantitative analysis of sulfite anhydride in Rhizoma dioscoreae.
3.Design and application of mobile device for infants appeasing

To design a mobile device for infants appeasing in order to improve CT of the infant. The device was composed of the components of broadcasting, supporting and monitoring. The broadcasting component consist-ed of a high-definition 14-inch monitor and a DVD player, the supporting component was made up of the bar connector, base supporter and fastening bolt, and the monitoring component included a camera and a monitor. The head CT exami-nation results with the device were compared with those without the device. The device could significant improve the head CT examination of the infants. The device can enhance infants CT examination by appeasing them, and thus is worthy popularizing practically.
4.The clinical application of CT-guided microcoil positioning of small pulmonary nodules in video-assisted thoracic surgery

Objective To assess the clinical value of preoperative CT-guided microcoil positioning of small solitary pulmonary nodule (SPN) in assisting video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) procedure to more quickly and more precisely remove small pulmonary lesions.Methods The clinical data of 90 patients with SPN,who were admitted to authors' hospital during the period from June 2014 to May 2016 to receive VATS,were retrospective analyzed.Preoperative CT-guided microcoil positioning of SPN was employed in 45 patients (group A),while other 45 patients (group B) did not receive preoperative positioning of SPN.The pulmonary lobar wedge resection time,the transfer rate of changing to open chest operation,postoperative hospitalization time,the success rate of microcoil positioning of SPN,complications,etc.of both groups were statistically analyzed.The safety of preoperative CT-guided microcoil positioning of SPN was evaluated,and its benefit-enhancing value for VATS was discussed.Results In group A,the success rate of VATS was 100% and the success rate of SPN positioning was 95.6%.Postoperative complications included pneumothorax (n=5),pulmonay surface hemorrhage (n=6),and dislodgement of microcoil (n=2).In group B,the success rate of VATS was 84.4% and the transfer rate of changing to open chest operation was 15.6%.In group A,the manipulation time of VATS was (17.7±2.8) min,the postoperative hospitalization time was (6.2±1.7) days,and the transfer rate of changing to open chest operation was 0%,which were strikingly lower than those in group B;the differences between the two groups were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Preoperative CT-guided microcoil positioning of small SPN can assist VATS procedure to remove small pulmonary lesions more quickly and more precisely,it can effectively reduce the transfer rate of changing to open chest operation,shorten the manipulation time of VATS as well as the postoperative hospitalization time.
6.Correlation between the central macular thickness and the visual function in patients with macular edema

Objective To determine the correlation between central macular thickness (CMT) and the visual function in patients iwht macular edema (ME). Methods The clinical data of 42 eyes of 40 patients with ME which were examined by optical coherence tomography (OCT) and microperimetry (MP-1) wereretrospectively analyzed. In 40 patients (42 eyes), diabetic ME (DME) was in 27 eyes,branch retinal vein occlusion was in 11eyes, and central retinal vein occlusion was in 4 eyes. All of the eyes had undergone OCT,MP-1 and best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) test. Central macular thickness (CMT) was measured by fast macular scans using OCT. Retinal sensitivity (MS) and fixation patterns were evaluated by Mp-1.The position was chosen :2 disc diameters (DD) temporal to the disc and one third of a DD inferior to the centre of the disc. Results The correlation between CMT and BCVA is not significant (r=-0. 429, P=0. 069) as well as the correlation between CMT and MS (r=-0. 433,P=0. 058). The difference of CMT between the unstable and stable group was significant (F = 3. 262, P = 0. 039). The difference of CMT between the central fixation group and preferred retinal locus (PRL) group was significant (F=3. 173,P=0. 044). Conclusions BCVA and MS have no significant correlation with CMT. When CMT increases, the fixation stability decreases, fixation location, changes, and PRL occurs.
7.Expression of CD147 in laser-induced rat choroidal neovascularization model

Background The pathology of choroidal neovascularization (CNV) is not clear.CD147 plays a critical role in angiogenesis through activating matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and degradation of extracellular matrix (ECM).However,the study of CD147 in CNV is rare.Objective This study was to investigate the expression of CD147 and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in laser-induced rat CNV model.Methods Thirty clean BN rats were divided into normal control group (six rats) and laser group (24 rats) according to the random number table.CNV was induced on laser photocoagulation group rats using 532 nm multiple-wave length photocoagulation.The development of CNV was followed up by fundus fluorescence angiography (FFA) on 1 day,7,14 and 21 days post-photocoagulation.The expression of C D147 protein in retinal pigment epithelium (RPE)-choroidsclera complex was examined by Western blot in normal control group and 1 day,7,14,21 days post-photocoagulation group.The vitreous VEGF concentrations of those groups were detected by ELISA.Results Disk like fluorescein leakage was detected on 7 days after photocoagulation,and CNV was formed on 14 days after photocoagulation.The expressions of CD147 protein were 1.00 ± 0.43,0.97 ± 0.53,0.99 ± 0.45,1.56 ± 0.67 and 2.27 ± 0.54,and the concentrations of vitreous VEGF were (72.96±29.95),(79.36±10.46),(103.82±32.94),(166.05±21.54) and (195.64± 39.90)pg/ml in normal control group and 1 day,7,14,21 days post-photocoagulation group,with significant differences among the groups (CD147:F=10.95,P<0.01;VEGF:F=304.50,P<0.01).The expressions of CD147 and VEGF were significantly higher in the 14,21 days post-photocoagulation groups than those in the normal control group (all at P<0.05).Conclusions The expression of CD147 increases as the induction of CNV,in accordance with the expression of VEGF.CD147 may play an important role in the early development of CNV.

OBJECTIVETo report 21 cases of postinfectious encephatitis according to ICD-NA, postinfectious/parainfectious encephalitis is an independent disease.
METHODSUsing the uniform criteria provided by The Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we diagnosed postinfectious encephalitis among patients admitted to The First Hospital of Harbin Medical University and analyzed the characteristics of these cases.
RESULTSAll the patients had histories of preceding infection, and most of them suffered from mental and conscious disorders. Adrenocortical hormone was effective.
CONCLUSIONSPostinfectious encephalitis is an independent disease. According to this article, about 10% patients with encephalitis admitted to our hospital are postinfectious.

9.Effect of resveratrol on ferroptosis in cardiomyocytes of mice with diabetic cardiomyopathy

Objective:To evaluate the effect of resveratrol on ferropotosis in cardiomyocytes of mice with diabetic cardiomyopathy.Methods:Thirty healthy adult male C57BL/6 mice, aged 8 weeks, weighing 22-26 g, were divided into 3 groups ( n=10 each) using a random number table method: control group (group C), diabetic cardiomyopathy group (group DCM) and resveratrol group (group RSV). Freshly prepared streptozotocin (STZ) 40 mg·kg -1·d -1 was intraperitoneally injected for 5 consecutive days to develop the model of type 1 diabetes mellitus. After the model was successfully developed, resveratrol 25 mg·kg -1·d -1 was intragastrically given for 12 consecutive weeks in group RSV, while the equal volume of dimethyl sulfoxide was given instead in group C and group DCM. Echocardiography was performed to examine the cardiac structure and function at the end of the 12th week. Then mice were sacrificed, and myocardial tissue specimens were harvested for microscopic examination of the pathological changes of myocardial tissues (by Hematologist-Eosin staining) and mitochondrial morphology of myocardial cells (with a transmission electron microscope) and for determination of the contents of iron, malondialdehyde (MDA) and glutathione (GSH) (by colorimetry) and expression of glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) (by Western blot). Results:Compared with group C, the left ventricular end-diastolic diameter and left ventricular end-systolic diameter were significantly increased, the left ventricular ejection fraction and left ventricular fractional shortening were decreased, the contents of iron and MDA were increased, the content of GSH was decreased, and the expression of GPX4 was down-regulated in group DCM ( P<0.05). Compared with group DCM, the left ventricular end-diastolic diameter and left ventricular end-systolic diameter were significantly decreased, the left ventricular fractional shortening and ejection fraction were increased, the contents of iron and MDA were decreased, the content of GSH was increased, the expression of GPX4 was up-regulated ( P<0.05), and the pathological changes of myocardial tissues and changes in mitochondrial morphology of myocardial cells were significantly attenuated in group RSV. Conclusions:The mechanism by which resveratrol attenuates myocardial injury and further improves cardiac dysfunction is related to inhibition of ferroptosis in cardiomyocytes of mice with diabetic cardiomyopathy.
10.Endovascular treatment of intracranial posterior circulation aneurysms

Objective To investigate the characteristics of intracranial posterior circulation aneurysms,and to evaluate the clinical outcomes of interventional endovascular therapy.Methods The clinical and imaging data,interventional therapy and observed effect,postoperative follow-up results of 40 patients with intracranial posterior circulation aneurysms treated with interventional endovascular therapy were analyzed retrospectively.Results Forty-two posterior circulation aneurysms were detected in 40 patients,and were treated successfully.Endovascular treatments included simple coil embolization (n=8),stem-assisted coil embolization (n=28),simple Onyx embolotherapy (n =1),aneurysms and parent artery occlusion (n=5).DSA performed immediately after treatment revealed that complete occlusion were achieved in 30 aneurysms,nearly complete occlusion in 6 aneurysms and partial occlusion in 6 aneurysms.DSA performed 6 months after treatment revealed that complete occlusion were achieved in 36 aneurysms,nearly complete occlusion in 4 aneurysms and partial occlusion in 1 aneurysms.At the time of discharge,the modified Rankin scale (mRS) scores were 0 point in 35 patients,1 point in 3 patients,2 point in 1 patient and 6 point in 1 dead patient.Three to six months after discharge from hospital,the mRS scores were 0 point in 38 patients and 1 point in 1 patient.No new neurological dysfunction or aneurysms recurred.Conclusion The intracranial posterior circulation aneurysms have special clinical and imaging features,and most of intracranial posterior circulation aneurysms are complex.Endovascular treatment is safe and effective for the intracranial posterior circulation aneurysms.
