Objective To investigate the value of laparoscopic operations for the diagnosis and treatment of acute or chronic pelvic inflammatory diseases (PID). Methods A series of 83 patients with PID diagnosed and treated by laparoscopic technique from January 1999 to December 2003 were retrospectively analyzed. Results Conversions to open surgery were required in 2 patients because of serious pelvic adhesions. No complications were observed. The diagnostic accordance rate before and after the surgery was 63.9% (53/83): 74.3% (26/35) in patients with acute PID and 56.2% (27/48) in patients with chronic PID. Among 35 patients with acute PID, the duration of operation was 20~75 min (mean, 44.7 min) and the postoperative hospital stay was 3~12 d (mean, 6.2 d). Postoperative pyrexia occurred in 28 patients, whose temperatures returned to normal within 5 days. The blood routine examination results were restored to normal levels in 26 patients at 2 days after operation. Out of 48 patients with chronic PID, the length of operation was 20~130 min (mean, 75 min) and the postoperative hospital stay, 2~8 d (mean, 5.5 d). Postoperative pyrexia occurred in 5 patients and a complete recovery of temperature was observed within 3 days. The blood routine examinations revealed normal findings in 42 patients at 2 days after operation. Follow-up checkups for 3 months in all the patients found no relapse. Conclusions Prompt application of laparoscopic operations is of importance in increasing diagnostic accuracy, improving curative efficacy, and preventing possible complications.

Objective To investigate effects of laparoscopy in the early diagnosis of atypical tubal pregnancy. Methods We retrospectively studied clinical records of 36 cases of "probable tubal pregnancy" from January 2003 to May 2005 in this hospital. All the patients were given transvaginal ultrasonography and serum ?-human chorionic gonadotropin examinations. Then laparoscopy was performed to clarify the diagnosis. The accordance rate before and after the laparoscopy was evaluated. Results After laparoscopy,26 patients were confirmed as having ectopic pregnancy(oviduct,25 patients;ovary,1 patient) and 3 patients were excluded for having ectopic pregnancy, the confirmative diagnosis rate being 80.5%(29/36).The diagnosis could not be identified with certainty in 7 patients,2 of whom were cured with radix trichosanthis and 5 of whom were afterwards clinically diagnosed as having tubal pregnancy(1 patient) or intrauterine early pregnancy(4 patients). Conclusions Laparoscopic management at proper time is the best choice in the diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy, especially in early-stage or atypical cases.

Object To study the feasibility of flocculation procedure on Bushenhuoxue Decoction, using chitosan instead of alcohol. Methods Using chitosan clarifier to the flocculation procedure of Bushenhuoxue Decoction; selecting the optimum content of chitosan and the density of decoction according to the total extract, and the content of icariin, comparing with the flocculation procedure by alcohol sedimentation. Results Chitosan clarifier could make the decoction clarify as alcohol does. On the retaining of active compounds, the former was better than the later. Conclusion Chitosan can be used to the flocculation procedure of Bushenhuoxue Decoction instead of alcohol.

[Objective] To evaluate the clinical value of diagnosing osteoporosis with vertebra bone mineral density(BMD) by measurement with quantitative computed tomography (QCT) . [ Method] BMD in of lumbar vertebrae (L<,1~4>)were measured by QCT in 53 healthy middleaged persons or elderly persons (group A) and 68 osteoporosis patients ( groupB) . [Result] BMD in group A declined obviously as age increasing with significant differences (P<0. 01) . In group B,all 68 patients showed osteoporosis according to the diagnostic standard of BMD≤x -2. OSD. Sixty patients showed osteoporosis ifthe diagnostic standard was set to BMD ≤ x -2. 5SD. The BMD values of different age group was lower than the bone quantityblock values. [Conclusion] As a method for diagnosing osteoporosis, QCT has advantages of high sensitation, being precise, being reproducible and is easy for applying. It would be more practical and could decrease mis - diagnosing if the diagnosticstandard was BMD≤x-2.OSD.

Objective To study the potential roles of acoustic immittance, distortion product otoacoustic e-mission (DPOAE),and the brainstem response audiometry (ABR)in the diagnosis of children with acute non-sup-purative otitis media (AN-SOM).Methods A retrospective analysis was administered to 182 cases with AN-SOM at the otolaryngology department between March 2014 and March 2015.We compared the results of the acous-tic immitance of 218 symptomatic ears and 146 asymptomatic ears, and also the proportion of DPOAE abnormity and ABR abnormity. We analyzed the specialty of symptomatic ears and asymptomatic ears in 3 terms of audiology test results. Results The proportions of abnormal tympanograms,DPOAE,ABR for symptomatic ear were 64.7%, 72.0%,and 57.8%,which were significantly higher than those of in 41.8%,39.7%,and 35.6% in asymptomatic ear.The difference were statistically significant(P<0.05).A further analysis of audiologic results showed that at least one abnormal result was as high as 196 ears (89.9%)in the asymptomatic ear,90 ears (61.6%)showed no symptoms. The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The results of audiology tests showed that tym-panograms in symptomatic ears showed diversity, that were 60.6% for type B or C,35.3% for type A,4.1% for the As.Conclusion The early detections by using acoustic immitance,DPOAE and ABR are very important to the diagnosis of children with acute non-suppurative otitis media. It can improve the sensitivity, and reduce the misdi-agnosis.

Furthermore, the results of erythrocyte aggregation index, capillary plasma viscosity, low /medium/high shear viscosity of whole blood, low/medium/high shear reduced viscosity of whole blood and erythrocyte deformation index were significantly different in sub group of diabetes( P=0. 004,0. 002,0. 001,0. 004,0. 003,0. 041,0. 025,0. 009,0. 042) . Conclusion It is important to measure the platelet parameters and hemorrheology in diabetes kidney disease patients. The platelet parameters and hemorrheology may be the early indicators to diagnosis the diabetic nephropathy.
