Acta Anatomica Sinica 1953;0(01):-
It has been found by Ju('81)that HRP could be anterogradely transported forlong distances.Based on this fact the rate of anterograde transport was investigatedin the present study, and,at the same time, the rate of retrograde transport and thetime of disappearance of HRP from the labeled sites were observed.Twenty tworabbits, weighing 2~2.2 kg,were used. The HRP was injected into the lower lumbarspinal cord unilaterally. The animals were sacrificed after 12 hours to 7 days andwere processed with benzidine and o-dianisidine.The anterogade labeling in the dorsalaccessory olivary nucleus and the retrograde labeling in the red nucleus and thenucleus raphe pallidus were chosen for study. It was quite unexpected to find that the anterograde and retrograde labelingsparalled each other in time as well as in intensity. They appeared at the same timeand waxed and waned practically in full accord.Labeling of the brainstem firstappeared at 18 hour's survival, reached its peak at the 2nd day,and then graduallyfaded away till at the 7th day when only traces of labeling remained. In the casewhich showed the earliest labeling the distance between the injection site and theobex, which was at about the same level as the most densely labeled parts of thedorsal accessory olivary nucleus and nucleus raphe pallidus, was measured to be 265mm and the rate of transport, the same for anterograde and retrograde transports, was calculated to be more than 350mm per day.Counting from the time of theearliest labeling,HRP was found to remain at the labeled site for as long as 5~6 days. The period of net accumulation of HRP at the labeled sites was about 1 day. Thus, the best survival period would be roughly the time required for HRP to travel thefiber tract plus 1 day.Neurons of the red nucleus and the nucleus raphe pallidus differ greatly intheir morphology, physiology as well as biochemistry. The results in them however, were similar. This,in connection with observations on other nuclei, both anterogr-adely and retrogradely labeled, suggests that the rate of transport and the duration ofpreservation of HRP in the central nervous system are basically the same in differentneuronal systems.

Objective To investigate the effects of δ-opioid receptor agonist DADLE (D-Ala2-D-Leu5-enkephalin) on the hemodynamics and oxygen metabolism in rats with sepsis. Methods Eighty healthy male SD rats were randomly divided into 4 groups ( n = 20 each) : sham operation group (group S), sepsis group (group SEP) ,DADLE, group and DADLE2, group. Sepsis was induced by cecum ligation and puncture (CLP) in SEP, DADLE,and DADLE2 groups. In DADLE1 and DADLE2 groups, 0.5 mg/ml DADLE 10 mg/kg was injected intraperitoneally (IP) 0.5 h before CLP and immediately after CLP respectively. Mean arterial pressure (MAP), left ventricular systolic pressure (LVSP) and ± dp/dtmax were recorded at 0, 2, 4 and 6 h after CLP (T1-4). Blood samples from left common carotid artery and right external jugular vein were collected at T4 for blood gas analysis. The cardiac index (CI), O2 delivery (DO2), O2 consumption (VO2) and O2 extraction rate (ERO2) were calculated. Results Compared with group S, MAP and LVSP were significantly increased at T2, while decreased at T3,4, and ± dp/dtmax was significantly increased in group SEP, MAP was significantly increased at T2, while decreased at T3,4, LVSP was significantly increased at T2,3, while decreased at T4 , and ± dp/dtmax was significantly increased in DADLE, and DADLE2 groups, and CI, DO2 and VO2 were significantly decreased and ERO2 was increased in SEP, DADLE, and DADLE2 groups (P<0.05). Compared with group SEP, MAP, LVSP and ± dp/dtmax at T3,4 and CI, DO2 and VO2 were significantly increased, while ERO2 was significantly decreased in DADLE1 and DADLE2 groups (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in the parameters mentioned above between DADLE1 and DADLE2 groups ( P > 0.05). Conclusion δ-opioid receptor agonist DADLE can obviously improve the hemodynamics and oxygen metabolism in septic rats.

Objective To study on imagination features of tumor thrombi in the portal vein of primary liver cancer (PLC). Methods We established a new type system of tumor thrombi, with Ⅰ 0 to Ⅳ, a total of 5 types and 8 sub-types in the portal vein of PLC based on normal intrahepatic portal vein anatomy and growing features of the tumor thrombi. The relationship between the types and the imaging diagnosis of 130 PLC cases with tumor thrombi in the portal vein was studied. Results 85%(110/130) cases of PLC with tumor thrombi in the portal vein belongs to type Ⅱ or Ⅲ when being first diagnosed in the hospital. The resectability rates for type Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ were 62%(5/8), 16%(10/62), 10%(5/48), 0 (0/12), respectively, and chemoembolization therapy (TACE) was given in 38%(3/8), 40%(25/62), 27%(13/48), 16%(2/12), respectively. Conclusions The new types of tumor thrombi are helpful for diagnosis and treatment of PLC with tumor thrombi in the portal vein.

Aim To explore whether edaravone (EDA), a novel free radical scavenger, protects H9c2 cardiac cells against doxorubicin ( DOX )-induced car-diotoxicity. Methods H9c2 cells were treated with 5μmol·L-1 DOX to establish a model of DOX cardio-toxicity. Cell viability was examined by cell counter kit ( CCK-8 ) . Changes in morphology and amount of ap-optotic cells were detected by Hoechst 33258 staining;intracellular level of reactive oxygen species ( ROS ) was measured by DCFH-DA staining and photofluorog-raphy;mitochondrial membrane potential ( MMP) was observed by rhodamine 123 ( RH123 ) staining and photoflurograph; the expression level of caspase-3 was determined by Western blot assay. Results Pretreat-ment of H9 c2 cells with 20 , 40 and 80 μmol · L-1 EDA for 60 min markedly inhibited cytotoxicity in-duced by 5 μmol · L-1 DOX, respectively, as evi-denced by an increase in cell viability. The protective effect induced by 40 μmol · L-1 EDA was maximal. Pretreatment of H9 c2 cells with 40 μmol · L-1 EDA for 30 , 60 , 90 and 120 min significantly attenuated DOX-induced cytotoxicity, respectively, having a max-imal protection at 60 min. Furthermore, pretreatment of H9 c2 cells with 40 μmol · L-1 EDA for 60 min be-fore exposure to 5 μmol · L-1 DOX for 24 h obviously reduced cardiac injuries, as evidenced by decreases in the DOX-induced intracellular ROS generation, num-ber of apoptotic cells, and expression of cleaved caspase-3, as well as loss of MMP. Conclusions EDA can protect H9 c2 cardiac cells against DOX-in-duced cardiotoxicity, this protection may be associated with inhibition of ROS production and preservation of MMP.

OBJECTIVE: To explore and analyze the influencing factors of facial nerve function retainment after microsurgery resection of acoustic neurinoma. METHODS: Retrospective analysis of our hospital 105 acoustic neuroma cases from October, 2006 to January 2012, in the group all patients were treated with suboccipital sigmoid sinus approach to acoustic neuroma microsurgery resection. We adopted researching individual patient data, outpatient review and telephone followed up and the House-Brackmann grading system to evaluate and analyze the facial nerve function. RESULTS: Among 105 patients in this study group, complete surgical resection rate was 80.9% (85/105), subtotal resection rate was 14.3% (15/105), and partial resection rate 4.8% (5/105). The rate of facial nerve retainment on neuroanatomy was 95.3% (100/105) and the mortality rate was 2.1% (2/105). Facial nerve function when the patient is discharged from the hospital, also known as immediate facial nerve function which was graded in House-Brackmann: excellent facial nerve function (House-Brackmann I–II level) cases accounted for 75.2% (79/105), facial nerve function III–IV level cases accounted for 22.9% (24/105), and V–VI cases accounted for 1.9% (2/105). Patients were followed up for more than one year, with excellent facial nerve function retention rate (H-B I–II level) was 74.4% (58/78). CONCLUSION: Acoustic neuroma patients after surgery, the long-term (≥1 year) facial nerve function excellent retaining rate was closely related with surgical proficiency, post-operative immediate facial nerve function, diameter of tumor and whether to use electrophysiological monitoring techniques; while there was no significant correlation with the patient’s age, surgical approach, whether to stripping the internal auditory canal, whether there was cystic degeneration, tumor recurrence, whether to merge with obstructive hydrocephalus and the length of the duration of symptoms.

Objective To investigate the effect of δ-opioid receptor agonist D-Ala2-D-Leu5-enkephalin (DADLE) on the celluar immune function in septic rats. Methods One hundred and fifty healthy male SD rats weighing 154-198 g were randomly divided into 3 groups (n = 50 each):group Ⅰ sham operation (group S);group Ⅱ sepsis (group SEP) and group Ⅲ DADLE. Sepsis was induced by cecum ligation and punture (CLP) in group Ⅱ and Ⅲ. In group Ⅲ 0.5 rmg/kg DADLE 10 ml/kg was injected intraperitoneally (IP) immediately after CLP operation. Seven day survival rate was calculated. Blood samples were collected from 10 animals at 4, 8 and 12 h after operation (T1-3) respectively in each group for determination of serum TNF-α and IL-10 concentrations by ELISA and changes in T-cell subsets by flow cytometry. Results CLP significantly increased serum TNF-α and IL-10 concentrations and TNF-α/IL-10 ratio at T1-3 and decreased CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ ratio and increased CD8+ at T3 in group Ⅱ as compared with group S (group Ⅰ). DADLE treatment significantly attenuated the CLP-induced above changes. Seven-day survival rate was significantly higher in DADLE group than in CLP group. Conclusion δ-opioid receptor agonist DADLE can improve the celluar immune function of rats with sepsis and increase the survival rate.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2008;22(24):1120-1122
OBJECTIVE:
To evaluate the clinical effectiveness of injection n-Butyl cyanoacrylate (NBCA) in treating laryngopharynx hemangioma.
METHOD:
Thirty cases of laryngopharynx hemangioma who received NBCA injection were obtained from our department 1998-2007. Twenty-five cases had tracheotomy under General anesthesia, and NBCA was injected into hemangioma by direct laryngoscopy. NBCA was mixed with iodide, and the concentration was 25.00% to 33.33%, NBCA dosage was 0.5 ml to 2.0 ml. There were 5 cases whose hemangioma confined to oropharynx didn't have tracheotomy, and they were injected straightly with the speculum oris. We observed the shedding of hemangioma in different time.
RESULT:
Hemangioma with diameter less than 1 cm, shedded in about 1 month. However, hemangioma with diameter more than 4 cm, shedded in a period more than 3.5 month. No recurrence was observed in the follow up of 3 months to seven years.
CONCLUSION
Avoiding dissection of neck and repetitious operation, NBCA injection could be a safe, simple and effective therapy for laryngopharynx hemangioma.

Objective:To explore the sequence of reduction and fixation in the treatment of middle and lower tibiofibular fractures on the same plane using tibial intramedullary nailing plus fibular plating. Methods:A retrospective analysis was performed of the 58 patients with middle and lower tibiofibular fractures on the same plane from January 2016 to December 2017. They were 38 males and 20 females, aged from 20 to 65 years (average, 40 years). The left side was affected in 30 cases and the right in 28. By the AO classification, 27 cases were type 42-A, 18 ones type 42-B and 13 ones type 42-C. Of them, 33 had the fibula reduced and fixated first (the fibular group) while 25 had the tibia reduced and fixated first (the tibial group). The 2 groups were compared in terms of operation time, rate of tibial closed reduction, rate of dynamization of intramedullary nails, fracture healing time and postoperative complications. Results:All the patients were followed up for 12 to 24 months (average, 17.2 months). The operation time in the fibular group was 96 minutes ± 15 minutes, significantly shorter than that in the tibial group (116 minutes ± 19 minutes)( P<0.05). The rate of tibial closed reduction was 84.8% (28/33) in the fibular group and 60.0%(15/25) in the tibial group, presenting a significant difference ( P<0.05). There were no significant differences between the 2 groups in the rate of dynamization of intramedullary nails, fracture healing time or postoperative complications ( P>0.05). Conclusions:Tibial intramedullary nailing plus fibular plate osteosynthesis is an effective treatment for the middle and lower tibiofibular fractures on the same plane. When the fracture line is not located in the narrow segment of the tibia, reduction and fixation of the fibula first is advantageous over reduction and fixation of the tibia first, because it can facilitate tibial reduction and nail placement and improve surgical efficiency without increasing the fracture healing time.

Objective To explore the effect of prophylactic hepatic artery infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) on survival after curative resection in patients with primary pancreatic cancer. Methods A total of 106 patients with pancreatic cancer after pancreatectomy received 2 cycles of HAIC plus 4 cycles of systemic chemotherapy (HAIC) or 6 cycles of sys-temic chemotherapy alone (Control). Both the HAIC and systemic chemotherapy regimen consisted of 5-fluorouracil 1000 mg/m2 on day 1 and Gemcitabine 800 mg/m2 on day 1 and 8. The treatment was started on an average of 3 weeks after surgery and repeated every 4 weeks. The disease-free survival , overall survival and liver metastases-free survival were compared. Results Significant differences were found in 3-year overall survival (HAIC, 23.08 %; Control, 14.81%;P=0.0473) and liver metastases-free survival (HAIC, 80.77%;Control, 55.56%;P=0.0014). There was no significant difference in adverse effects between two groups. Conclusion HAIC effectively and safely prevented liver metastases and improved the prognosis of patients with pancreatic cancer after pancreatectomy.
