1.Clinical Study on Treatment of Vascular Dementia with Scalp Acupuncture
Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2008;6(1):24-26
Objective: To explore a treatment method for vascular dementia. Methods: Sixty patients were randomly allocated into two groups. The observation group was treated with long-term needle-retaining method of scalp acupuncture and the control group was treated by medications. Evaluation was made respectively before and after the treatment by means of Hasegawa dementia scale (HDS), neurological function deficit (NFD) score and main symptom (MS) score. Results: There were statistically significant differences in HDS, NFD score and MS score in both groups (PO.01) before and after the treatment. There were statistically significant differences in HDS, NFD score and MS score between the two groups (P<0.05) before and after the treatment. The total effective rate was 86.8% in the observation group and 80.0% in the control group. There was a statistically significant difference in the effects between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion: This long-term needle-retaining method of scalp acupuncture is precisely effective for vascular dementia.

Objective To summarize the nursing experience for patients with filtering bleb infection after glaucoma filtering surgery. Methods We introduced the following nursing interventions such as accurate and prompt use of atropine eyedrop according to medical orders, local and intravenous administration of antibiotics and glucocorticoid, reasonable arrangement of medication, close monitoring of patients condition and reaction to treatment. In the same time we also supplied psychological nursing and health education. Results After intervention the symptoms disappeared and inflammation was under control, the filtering bleb became clear and anterior chamber exudation was absorbed, the visual acuity improved in 7 patients with 1 exception. The infection diffused and developed to endophthalmitis in this patient resulting in excavation of eyeball because of delaying hospital admission. Conclusion The keys to prevent filtering bleb infection were accurate, prompt and reasonable arrangement of medication according to medical orders and just-in-time adoption of nursing measures.

Objective To check the change of content of serum beta-apoliprotien(?-AP) and insulin(INS) in the patient with Alzheimer disease, and to reflect the effect of using different drug. Methods 60 cases of this disease and 30 cases of the control group were been detected by radioimmunoassay(RIA). Results The content of ?-AP in Alzheimer disease(AD) was obviously higher than that in control groups(P

[Objective]To explore the effect of combined acupuncture and medicine on learning--memory abilities, and free radical system of hippocampus in vascular dementia(VD)rats.[Methods]The 48 Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided into control(1),VD model(2),VD plus removed olfactory bulb model(3)and XIU Three Needles(4),Eugenol(5),combined acupuncture and medicine(6)groups.Morris maze tests were conducted for valuating the learning and memory abilities. The contents of MDA,SOD and GSH-Px activity of hippocampus were detected.[Results]In comparison with group 1,the average escape latency and travel distance prolonged significantly in group 2.In comparison with group 2,it shortened remarkably in groups 4 and 5.No significant differences were found between groups 1 and 2.In comparison with group 6,it prolonged in groups 4 and 5.No significant differences were found between them. The MDA content of hippocampus in VD model group was higher than that of control group(P

Objective To explore the perioperative nursing care of cooled radiofrequency for refractory craniofacial postherpetic neuralgia. Methods 13 refractory craniofacial postherpetic neuralgia patients were reviewed. Results Visual analogue score significantly decreasedafter the treatment (P<0.01), and severe dropsy after treatment was relieved in 2~3 weeks. Conclusion The cooled radiofrequency iseffective on refractory craniofacial postherpetic neuralgia, while the perioperative nursing care was safe, feasible, and worthy for more application.

Objective To investigate the therapeutic efficacy and side effect of regional blockade using diprospan combined with oxycodone and acetaminophen taking orally which called balanced analgesia on severe tension-type headache. Methods 32 patients diagnosed as severe tension-type headache were treated with regional blockade using diprospan mixed with 0.4% lidocaine, combined with oxycodone and acetaminophen. The severity of pain (using numeric rating scales, NRS) and the duration of headache were observed and the side effects were recorded. Results There was a significant decrease in the severity of pain and the duration of headache after treatment compared with those before (P<0.01). No serious side effects were observed. Conclusion The balanced analgesia therapy mainly including regional blockade and oxycodone and acetaminophen can be significantly effective on the severe tension-type headache.

Objective:To establish an HPLC method for the determination of optical isomers in carfilzomib .Methods:The sample was separated on a Chiralpak OX-H column. The mobile phase consisted of n-hexane∶isopropanol∶alcohol (89 ∶5 ∶6, v/v/v) with a flow rat of 1.0 ml· min-1 .The detection wavelength was 220 nm.Results:The linear rang of enantiomer , diastereomer Ⅰand di-astereomer Ⅱwas 0.54-2.14 μg· ml -1,0.11-1.80 μg· ml-1 and 0.11-1.81 μg· ml-1(r≥0.998), respectively. The lower limit of quantification was 0.07-0.27 μg· ml-1 .The recoveries of optical isomers were within the range of 99.6%-100.9% with RSD of 1.13%-1.59%(n=9).Conclusion:The method is sensitive, simple, fast, accurate and specific, and suitable for the study of opti-cal isomers in carfilzomib .

Objective To explore the ultrasonic imaging and clinic characteristics to improve the diagnosis on sacrococcygeal teratoma(SCT).Methods Ultrasonic, clinical and pathological characteristics of 49 SCT cases were analyzed retrospectively. Results SCT occurred commonly in young children under age 7,especially in neonates and infants. 87.8% cases were benign, others were malignant. The ultrasonic characteristics in SCT were special. Conclusions Ultrasound is the first choice to diagnose SCT.

Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2009;32(31):26-28
Objective To observe feature of clinic and imageology in patients with unstable angina pectoris after radiation therapy to chest. Methods The study enrolled 58 patients who had unstable angina pectoris. Twenty-eight patients were in the postradiation therapy to chest group, 30 patients were in the common unstable angina pectoris group. All patients underwent multislice spiral CT(MSCT) examination and coronary angiography (CAG). After one year follow-up, the levels of brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) and ventricular wall motion score index (WMSI) were measured , the incidence of cardiovascular events were observed in all patients. Results Calcific, multi-vessel, thrombotic disease and dissection were significantly different between the two groups, when one year follow-up , the levels of BNP were higher in the postradiation therapy to chest group than those in the common unstable angina pectoris group [ (234.31 ± 121.39) ng/L vs (124.74 ±37.81) ng/L] WMST, incidence of the first heart failure, angina pectoris recurrence and revascularization were significantly different too (P< 0.05 ). Conclusions The complex lesions are major in the postradiation therapy to chest. Moreover, because radiation injures the heart valves and myocardium, these patients' long-term prognosis are worst.
