Objective To evaluate the comprehensive treatment results of cystitis glandularis. Methods A total of 65 cases of cystitis glandularis underwent cystoscopy.The results showed follicular or villous changes in 39 cases,papillomatous in 15,chronic inflammation in 8 and no obvious change in 3.Transurethral electric resection or partial cystectomy were performed.After surgery all the cases received mitomycin-c bladder irrigation at high dose (40 mg once) regularly for 2 years.During the follow-up cystoscopy was periodically performed and the biopsy samples were pathologically examined with all the cases. Results The mean follow-up was 29 months (range,7 to 72 months).Of the 65 cases,60 fully recovered with transitional cell surface covering the bladder musoca gradually;4 had relapse;and 1 developed canceration (adenocarcinoma). Conclusions Transurethral resection of bladder tumors or galvanocautery is the essential therapy for cystitis glandularis.After surgery the bladder irrigation with mitomycin-c at high dose can be helpful for urothelium recover in histology.

Objective To understand the status quo of the health statistics human resources in Chongqing municipality. Methods The status quo of the health statistic human resources in Chongqing municipality was investigated by the national health statistics reporting system.The age,seniority,qualifications,specialty,job title,distribution,etc.in the health personnel were ana-lyzed by the SPSS17.0 statistical software.Results 74.89% of health statistic personnel were part-time workers.In the vast ma-jority of medical institutions,the number of health statistician was 1 or 2.As to the education background,73.50% of the total stat-istician number only got the junior college degree even below.Only 216 statistic personnesls′major fitted to the staff positions.Ba-nan district in the major city,Tongnan county and Dazu district in the west area,Wushan county in the east area,Dianjiang county and other counties in central area,and the new urban development area were relatively lack of human resources of the health statistic personnel.Conclusion The health statistic team in Chongqing municipality has low stability,inadequate staff and poor professional quality.The distribution of statistic personnel human resources is uneven among the five functional areas and various districts and counties.

Objective To investigate the value of MR 3D CUBE T2WI sequence in displaying anatomical structure of knee joint.Methods Sixty cases of knee joints (30 cases in lesion group and 30 cases in control group) were scanned with conventional 2D and 3D CUBE T2WI sequence by HDXt 3.0T superconducting magnetic resonance of GE Signa imaging system and hased-array coil.The meniscus,articular cartilage,anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments demonstrated by two sequences were evaluated as excellent,good and poor grade,the results were comparatively analyzed by statistics.Results 3D CUBE T2WI was superior to conventional 2D sequence in displaying of articular cartilage,anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments,and inferior to conventional 2D sequence in displaying of meniscus(all P =0.000).When we put excellent and good levels of image quality as according with diagnostic requirement.The satisfaction rate demonstrating anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments by 3D CUBE T2WI sequence in lesion and control group were 100％,articular cartilage was 93.33％ in control group and 90.00％ in lesion group,while the meniscus was 30.00％ in control group and 33.33％ in lesion group.Conclusion MR 3D CUBE T2WI sequence is a sensitive technique in demonstrating ligaments and articular cartilage of knee joint,but it was inferior to conventional 2D sequence in displaying of meniscus.We should adopt it according to clinical diagnosis.

Objective To study the diagnosis and treatment of adrenal tumors. Methods 1 006 cases of adrenal tumors treated from 1957 to 2000 were reviewed. Results Of the 1 006 cases of adrenal tumors,845(84.0%) were functional with 12(1.4%) malignant and 161(16%) nonfunctional with 11( 6.8%) malignant.There were 180 incidentaloma including 19 pheochromocytoma.A total of 996 tumors have been surgically removed and 10 cases underwent surgical exploration only.The total mortality rate was 0.3%. Conclusions Adrenal tumors occurred mostly in patients of 30～50 years of age.The prevalence of Cushing syndrome was more in females than in males.Ultrasonography and CT are the method of choice for the localization of the tumor whereas hormone levels should be determined both in the symtomatic and asymtomatic patients with adrenal tumors.Functional adrenal tumors and solid incidentaloma of large size should be surgically removed while asymtomatic incidentaloma less than 3 cm in size could be observed and followed up and surgery might be undertaken when indicated.

Objective To determine the main CT features and the key points of differential diagnosis of multilocular cystic renal cell carcinoma (MCRCC) classified according to 2004 WHO pathological diagnostic criteria. Methods According to the criteria, 40 patients were divided into two groups: MCRCC group and other subtypes of cystic renal cell carcinoma (CRCC). The CT findings were evaluated and compared between two groups for cystic content, wall, septum, nodularity, calcification and enhancement. ROC curve was used to determine the cut-off value of the possible CT feature which could distinguish MCRCC from other subtypes of CRCC. Results Seventeen cases of MCRCC group and 23 cases of CRCC group were included in this study according to the diagnostic criteria. MCRCC appeared as a well defined multilocular cystic mass with thin wall and sepia and no expansile solid nodules. Thickness of cystic wall and/or septum is was main CT findings to distinguish MCRCC from other subtypes of CRCC (P ＜ 0.01 ). The cut-off value of the thickness was 6 mm and its sensibility, specificity was 89% ,75% respectively. Conclusion Cystic wall and/or septum with a thickness of less than 6 mm are the main CT findings to dis tinguish MCRCC from other subtypes of CRCC.

Objective To investigate the value of CARE Dose 4D technique in decreasing radiation dose and improving image quality of multi-slice spiral CT in adult chest scanning.Methods 100patients of chest CT scanning were equally divided into study group and control group randomly.CARE Dose 4D Technique was used in study group.Effective mAs value,volume CT dose index (CTDIvol) and dose length product (DLP) were displayed automatically in machine while chest scanning; those values and actual mAs value of every image were recorded respectively.The image quality at apex of lung,lower edge of aorta arch,middle area of left atrium and base of lung on every image of 400 images was judged and classified as three level (excellent,good,poor) by two deputy chief physicians with double blind method,the image noise at corresponding parts was measured.Results While setting 80 mAs for quality reference mAs,the effective mAs value in study group most decreased 44 mAs than control group with an average decrease of 9.60( 12.0% ) ,CTDIvol with 4.75 mGy with an average decrease of 0.95 mC y( 11.0% ) ,DLP 99.50% in study group,with 98.0% in control group.But it was higher at apex of lung and base of lung,lower at middle area of left atrium,and similar at lower edge of aorta arch in study group than contrast group.The image noise were lower at apex of lung and base of lung in study group than control group (t =6.299 and 2.332,all P ＜ 0.05 ) ,higher at middle area of left atrium in study group than control group (t=3.078,P ＜0.05) and similar at lower edge of aorta arch in study group than control group (t =1.191,P ＞0.05).Conclusions CARE Dose 4D technique provides a function regulated mAs real-time on line,it not only raises utilization rate of radiation and decreases radiation dose,but also promises and increases image quality in chest CT scanning,and has some clinical significance.

BACKGROUND: Learning memory disorder is one of the major manifestations of aging. The model of aging induced by D-galactose is a commonly used animal model in recent years, and long-term D-galactose exposure may cause nerve cell morphological changes in animals.OBJETCIVE: To observe spatial learning memory behavior during Dgalactose-induced aging process in order to further explore in vivo evoked long-term potentiation in hippocampus dentate gyrus and synaptic morphological changes in hippocampal CA3 region.DESIGN: Randomized controlled observation.SETTING: Anatomical Teaching and Research Secti , Shanghai Second Medical University; Department of Physiology, Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine University.MATERIALS: The experiment was carried out at the Physiological Laboratory of Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine University between August 2000 and April 2001. Totally 22 male Wistar rats of 3-month birth age were included and randomized into normal group and D-galactose group with 11 rats in each group. D-galactose was produced by Shanghai No. 2 Chemical Reagent Factory, Morris water maze was home-made by the Institute of Geriatrics, Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine university.METHODS: Rats were subjected to hypodermic injection of 1 mL normal saline every day in normal group, or D-galactose of 800 mg/kg daily for 6consecutive weeks in D-galactose group. Rat spatial learning memory behavior was assessed by the latency of Morris water maze; hippocampal dentate gyrus community potentials evoked by monopulse stimulation on perforating fibers were recordedin vivo; meanwhile, the amplitude of monopulse evoked potentials was determined before and after high frequency stimulation, with the amplitude before high frequency stimulation taken as baseline. Transmission electromicroscope was applied in combination with imaging analysis to observe synaptic morphology and structure in rat hippocampal CA3 region. Water labyrinth latency was compared using the variance analysis of repetitive survey design, t-test was used to compare the differences of peak potential latency of community potentials at various time points after long-term potentiation. Moreover, inducing rate of longterm potentiation was compared by χ2-test, XY-540 type biological imaging processing system was used to analyze electromicroscopic pictures, and all available data were analyzed with t-test.MAN OUTCOME MEASURES: [1] Main outcomes: Changes of Morris water maze latency, as well as inducing rate of long-term potentiation and community potentials. [2] Secondary outcomes: Synaptic morphological and structural changes in hippocampal CA3 region.RESULTS: Totally 22 rats were enrolled in this study, with no one lost during water labyrinth test, but one rat in both normal group and D-galactose group died during electrophysiological experiment. Finally 3 rats were randomly selected from each group for electromicroscopic observation. [1]Comparison of the latency for Morris water maze: In contrast with that of normal group, latency for seeking submarine platform was obviously prolonged in D-galactose group [(14.77±10.10), (51.36±12.45) s, P ＜ 0.05].[2] Comparison of evoked potential in hippocampus dentate before high frequency stimulation: The two groups did not obviously differ in community potential amplitude and community potential latency [(1.05±0.47),(0.91±0.41) mV; (5.46±2.09), (5.38±2.26) ms; P ＞ 0.05]. [3] Inducing rate of long-term potentiation in hippocampal dentate gyrus: Compared to that of normal group, inducing rate in D-galactose group obviously reduced after high frequency stimulation (80%, 20%, χ2=7.20, P ＜ 0.01). [4] Comparison of community potential ratio at different time points after high frequency stimulation: Compared to that of normal group, it was notably reduced in D-galactose group at post-stimulation 20, 30, 60 minutes, respectively (1.104±0.196, 0.919±0.162; 1.354±0.212, 0.999±0.219; 1.236±0.174,0.875±0.311; P ＜ 0.05). [5] Comparison of synaptic struc tural parameters in hippocampal CA3 region: Compared to that of normal group, postsynaptic dense bodies became thickened in hippocampal CA3 region of D-galactose group [(40.60±18.26), (26.35±8.15) nm, P ＜ 0.05], the synapse gap increased [(17.69±6.28), (26.95±5.67) nm, P ＜ 0.05] while synaptic active zone was shortened [(265.13±76.50), (229.13±90.68) nm, P ＜ 0.05].CONCLUSION: Hypodermic injection of D-galactose does harm to rat spatial learning memory by reducing the long-term potentiation, inducing rate in rat hippocampal dentate gyrus, attenuating the increase of long-term potentiation-evoked potential amplitude, and even remarkably changing the synaptic ultrastructure in rat hippocampal CA3 region. It suggests that Dgalactose inhibits the long-term potentiation at hippocampal dentate gyrus and affects synaptic structure in hippocampal CA3 region, which is considered as the basis of spatial learning memory behavioral disorder.

Aim: To establish an HPLC method for the determination of 3-methyl-7, 8-dihydroxy-isochroman-4-one in the peel of Musa sapientum. Methods: A column of Shimadzu ODS-C_(18) column (250 mm × 4. 6 mm,5 μm), and a mobile phase of acetonitrile-water-phosphoric acid(9:91:0. 1) were adopted. A detect wavelength of 283 nm, a flow rate of 1 mL/min, and a column temperature of 35 ℃ were set. Results: The content of 3-methyl-7,8-dihydroxy-isochroman-4-one in the peel of Musa sapientum was 0.029 5%-0.036 7%. Calibration curve was linear over the range 1. 09-13. 08 μg. The average recovery was 100. 0%. The assay variability value was 0. 64 %(n=9). Conclusion: The method can be used for the quality control of Musa sapientum.

Objective To detect the serum levels of folate,homocysteine (Hcy)and vitamin B12 in the patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC),and to clarify the clinical significance of folate, Hcy and vitamin B12 in the diagnosis and prognosis assessment of NSCLC.Methods 35 patients with NSCLC were chosen as NSCLC group, and 30 healthy people were selected as control group,excluding hypertension,anemia,family disease history and other related factors.The expression levels of serum folate, Hcy and vitamin B12 were examined by circulating enzymatic method and electrochemical luminescence method.The correlations between the levels of serum folate, Hcy and vitamin B12 of the objects in two groups were analyzed by Pearson test.Results The serum Hcy level of the patients in NSCLC group was significantly higher than that in control group (P <0.01).The serum folate level of the patients in NSCLC group was significantly lower than that in control group (P <0.01),while there was no significant difference in vitamin B12 levels between two groups (P > 0.05).The serum Hcy level was negatively correlated with folate level (r=-0.505,P =0.002),but was not correlated with vitamin B12 (r =-0.084,P =0.633).The serum folate level was not correlated with vitamin B12 (r=-0.039,P =0.826).Conclusion The serum Hcy level of NSCLC patient is significantly increased and it has diagnostic and prognostic values in the NSCLC patients.
