Filamentous fungi are widely used in industrial fermentation. Particular fungal morphology acts as a critical index for a successful fermentation. To break the bottleneck of morphological analysis, we have developed a reliable method for fungal morphological analysis. By this method, we can prepare hundreds of pellet samples simultaneously and obtain quantitative morphological information at large scale quickly. This method can largely increase the accuracy and reliability of morphological analysis result. Based on that, the studies of Aspergillus niger morphology under different oxygen supply conditions and shear rate conditions were carried out. As a result, the morphological responding patterns of A. niger morphology to these conditions were quantitatively demonstrated, which laid a solid foundation for the further scale-up.

Background and Purpose:dPET/CT is very expensive,so although the accuracy of hPET/CT is less than dPET/CT,it is better than CT,and is useful for guiding the tumor staging before operation. This paper is evaluate the role of ~(18)F-fluorodeoxyglucose(FDG) hPET/CT in primary carcinoma of gastric cardia detection.Methods:26 patients with histologically proven primary carcinoma of gastric cardia underwent whole body hPET/CT imaging.Visual and semiquantitative analysis and standardized uptake value(SUV) were used to analyze the images. The results of hPET/CT study were compared with those of CT.Results:1.The sensitivity of hPET/CT in primary carcinoma of gastric cardia detection was 92.3%(24/26);two cases of signet ring cell carcinoma gave false negative results, and the primary lesions were small(

Objective To investigate changes in nutritional status in senile dementia patients with malnutrition treated with enteral nutrition combined with rehabilitation therapy evaluated by using the Mini Nutritional Assessment-Short Form(MNA-SF).Methods Fifty hospitalized patients with senile dementia and malnutrition at the internal medicine department of our hospital from July 2014 to July 2017 were enrolled and further divided into an enteral nutrition group(a control group,n =25)and an enteral nutrition combined with rehabilitation therapy group(an observation group,n=25).Anthropometric parameters including body mass index, biceps circumference, calf circumference, triceps skin-fold thickness, and blood biochemical parameters including hemoglobin, total cholesterol, triacylglycerol, albumin, lymphocyte count before and after treatment were compared between the groups. Results Anthropometric parameters such as body mass index, biceps circumference, calf circumference and triceps skin-fold thickness had no significant difference between the two groups before treatment (P > 0.05),while after 30 days of treatment, anthropometric parameters saw improvement in both groups compared with those before treatment, and the improvement was greater in the observation group than in the control group(P <0.01).Blood biochemical parameters had no significant difference between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After 30 days of treatment, levels of total cholesterol and triacylglycerol had no significant difference compared with those before treatment or between the two groups(P >0.05),while levels of hemoglobin, albumin and lymphocyte count improved compared with those before treatment (t =2.645,2.843,2.967,respectively,P <0.01),and had significant differences between the groups (t =2.548,2.864,2.976,respectively,P<0.01).Conclusions Enteral nutrition combined with rehabilitation therapy has a measurable, positive influence on nutritional status in senile dementia patients with malnutrition.

Objective:To explore the clinical and molecular basis for a Chinese pedigree affected with Complete androgen insensitivity syndrome (CAIS).Methods:A CAIS pedigree presented at Tianjin Medical University General Hospital between 2019 and 2021 was selected as the study subject. Clinical data of the proband was collected, along with peripheral blood samples from the proband and her family members. Chromosomal karyotyping, sex-determining region of the Y chromosome ( SRY) testing, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) were carried out for the proband, and candidate variant was verified by Sanger sequencing of her family members. Prenatal diagnosis was provided for the sister of the proband. This study was approved by Medical Ethics Committee of the Tianjin Medical University General Hospital (Ethics No. IRB2023-WZ-070). Results:The 18-year-old proband, who has a social gender of female, underwent laparoscopic examination, which showed no presence of uterus and ovaries. The karyotype of peripheral blood sample was 46, XY, with SRY gene detected. NGS indicated that the proband has harbored a heterozygous c. 1988C>G (p.Ser663Ter) variant of the AR gene. Sanger sequencing confirmed that her mother and sister had both harbored the same variant, whilst her father and younger sister were of the wild-type. Prenatal diagnosis revealed that her sister′s first fetus had harbored carried the same variant, which had led to termination of pregnancy. Her second fetus did not carry the variant, and a healthy boy was born. Based on guidelines from the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG), the variant was classified as likely pathogenic (PM2_Supporting+ PM4+ PP3_Moderate+ PP4). Conclusion:The c. 1988C>G (p.Ser663Ter) variant of the AR gene probably underlay the CAIS in the proband. The accurate diagnosis of sex development disorders will rely on the physicians′ thorough understanding of the clinical symptoms and pathogenic genes. Genetic testing and counseling can enable precise diagnosis, prenatal diagnosis, and guidance for reproduction
