1.Padua Inventory for Chinese College Students

Objective: To develop the Padua Inventory(PI) for the use of Chinese college students;explore the structure and examine the sex difference in non-clinical sample in China.Methods: The PI was filled by 1300 college subjects,including 680 males and 542 females(78 gender missing),aged 19.6?2.2,for exploratory factor analysis(EFA).The second sample has 30 college students from Peking University for test-retest study.Results: The results of EFA has four factors: impaired control over mental activities/doubting,worries of losing control over motor activities,contamination,and checking.Reliabilities of four factors are 0.94,0.85,0.86,0.83 for each and 0.96 for the total scores.The test-retest correlations of the four factors are 0.77,0.87,0.85,0.84 for each.Females scored significantly higher in factor 3(P=.000) while males scoring significantly higher in factor 4(P=.017).Conclusion: The results suggest that PI has eligible psychometric reliability,but needs further study for the validity in China.
2.Immunomodulatory effects of probiotics on rat models with ovalbumin induced food allergy

Objective To investigate the effects of probiotics on the occurrence of ovalbumin (OVA) induced food allergy and the regulatory effects on immune function of rat models. Methods Thirty female Brown-Norway rats aged 3 weeks were randomly divided into blank control group,food allergy group and probiotics intervention group(n=10).The levels of serum OVA-IgE and intestinal sIgA were measured by ELISA method.Splenic lymphocytes were isolated and cultured in vitro,and the Treg lymphocyte subgroups in the spleen were analyzed by flow eytometry.The levels of IFN-γ,IL-4 and IL-10 in the supernatant of cultured splenic lymphocytes were measured by ELISA method. Results The serum OVA-IgE level in food allergy group was significantly higher than that in blank control group(P<0.05),while that in probiotics intervention group was significantly lower than that in food allergy group(P<0.05).Compared with food allergy group and blank control group,the level of intestinal sIgA in probiotics intervention group was significantly higher(P<0.05).The percentage of CD4~+CD25~+T lymphoeytes in food allergy group was significantly lower than that in blank contml group(P
3.Clinical observation on hyperbaric oxygenation combined with 0.025%ipratropium bromide inhalation in treatment of patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Objective To explore the clinical efficacy on hyperbaric oxygenation combined with 0.025% ipratropium bromide inhalation in treatment of patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease( COPD) .Methods 86 elderly patients with stable COPD were divided into control group (n=42)and observation group(n=44)according to therapeutic methods.The patients in both groups were firstly given the conventional treatment such as oxygen inhalation, anti-infection, eliminating phlegm and reliving asthma, nutritional support, spasmolysis as well as a balance of water, electrolyte and PH.And the patients of the observation group were given hyperbaric oxygenation combined with 0.025% ipratropium bromide inhalation on basis of the conventional treatment.The clinical effects of the two groups were compared.Results In the control group, there were no statistical differences in parameters of pulmonary function before and after the treatment.However, after treatment, the relative index level of pulmonary function in the observation group was significantly higher than that of pre-treatment and that of the control group after treatment(P<0.05).After treatment, PaO2, SaO2 and pH of the two groups were significantly higher than those of pre-treatment(P<0.05).The level of PaCO2 in the two groups was significantly lower than that of pre-treatment(P<0.05).Also, the difference in PaO2, PaCO2 and SaO2 level was statistically significant before and after treatment between thw two groups(P<0.05).The scores of each dimension in PSQI scale of both groups were significantly lower than those of pre-treatment(P<0.05).And the scores of each dimension in PSQI scale of observation group was significantly lower than those of the control group after treatment(P<0.05).Whole blood cholinesterase activity of both groups was obviously greater than before treatment between theo two groups(P<0.05).Serum creatinine level of both groups were obviously lower than those of pre-treatment(P<0.05),and the differences in two groups in both blood cholinesterase activity and serum creatinine level were statistically significant ( P<0.05 ) .Conclusion The combination of high pressure oxygen and 0.025%ipratropium bromide for patients with stable COPD has a very significant clinical efficacy.It can effectively improve cholinesterase activity and lower serum creatinine level.
4.The effect of neuromuscular electrical stimulation on swallowing function after stroke

Objective To observe the clinical therapeutic effects of neuromuscular electric stimulation (NMES) on patients with swallowing disorders after stroke and to assess the value of surface electromyography (sEMG).Methods Forty stroke survivors with swallowing disorders were divided into a treatment group (20 cases) and a control group (20 cases) using a random number table.All of the patients were given routine medication and conventional swallowing training lasting 2 weeks,on the basis of which the patients in the treatment group were also given electrical stimulation.The seriousness of their swallowing disorders was evaluated and surface electromyographs were recorded for both groups before and after the 2 weeks of treatment.Results After treatment,the average dysphagia rating in the treatment group was significantly higher than before treatment,and significantly higher than that of the control group.sEMG of the suprahyoid muscles showed that the swallowing duration of both groups had significantly improved,but the values of the treatment group were significantly better than those of the control group.Conclusions NMES plus conventional swallowing training can significantly improve swallowing function for patients with swallowing disorders after stroke.sEMG can be regarded as an effective method for assessing swallowing disorders.
5.AMPK attenuates inflammation to reduce fibrosis induced by acute ischemia reperfusion injury in mice

Objective To observe the effect of adenosine monophosphate activated protein kinase (AMPK) on attenuating inflammation in fibrosis induced hy acute ischemia reperfusion injury (IRI) in mice.Methods Forty eight male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into four groups:sham operation group (sham group),IRI group,AMPK inhibitor+IRI group (AMPK/IRI group) and normal saline+IRI group (NS/IRI group),12 mice each group.The mice with renal IRI were occluded for 30 min through clipping bilateral renal pedicle,then released renal perfusion.Mice in sham group were performed the separation of renal pedicle without clipping.Mice in AMPK/IRI group and NS/IRI group were respectively intraperitoneal injected AMPK inhibitor and normal saline before IRI.At the 2 d after operation,6 randomly-selected mice from each group were blooded by extraction eyeball to detect BUN and Scr.The renal histopathological changes were observed through HE staining.The mRNA expression of IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-α was detected by real time PCR,and the level of AMPK phosphorylation was detected by Western blotting.At the 14 d after operation,Collagen 1 (COL1),α-SMA and fibronectin (FN) were detected by immunofluorescence and Western blotting in 6 remained mice from each group.The degree of kidney fibrosis was observed through sirus red staining.Results Compared with those in sham group,tubular interstitial damage was aggravated (P < 0.05),BUN and Scr were increased (P < 0.05),the mRNA expression of IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-α was increased at the 2 d after operation (all P < 0.05),and the level of AMPK phosphorylation was activated in IRI group and NS/IRI group (all P < 0.05);the degree of kidney fibrosis and the expression of COL1,α-SMA and FN were increased obviously at the 14 d (all P < 0.05).Compared with those in IRI group,in AMPK/IRI group tubular interstitial damage was aggravated (P < 0.05),BUN and Scr were increased (all P < 0.05),the mRNA expression of IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-α was increased at the 2 d (all P < 0.05),and the level of AMPK phosphorylation was decreased (P < 0.05).Moreover,the degree of kidney fibrosis and the expression of COLI,α-SMA and FN were increased obviously at the 14 d in AMPK/IRI group (all P <0.05).Conclusions AMPK can ameliorate the acute renal ischemia reperfusion injury induce fibrosis in mice,and the mechanism may be related to the decrease of inflammatory reaction.
6.Quartz Crystal Microbalance and Atomic Force Microscopy for Study of Carbohydrate-sensitive Multilayers Composed of Pheylboronic Acid Polymers

Boronic acids and their derivatives have been widely used in carbohydrate-sensitive materials because they can selectively bind 1,2-and 1,3-diol compounds, including sugars, to form cyclic boronate esters. In this work, pheylboronic acid ( PBA) moieties were grafted onto the backbone of poly( acrylic acid) ( PAA) through the condensation reaction between aminopheyl-boronic acid and carboxylic acid group of PAA in the presence of EDC/NHS, designed as PAA-PBA. Then the resulting PAA-PBA were assembled with poly ( ethyleneimine) ( PEI) to form PAA-PBA multilayer films. The sensing performance of the PEI/PAA-PBA film to carbohydrate (> 50 μg/mL ) , including glucose, fructose, mannose and galactose, has been investigated by combination of the complementary techniques of quartz crystal microbalance ( QCM ) and atomic force microscopy ( AFM) . It was demonstrated that the multilayer showed higher sensitivity to fructose than glucose, mannose and galactose. The interferences of ascorbic acid, uric acid and dopamine to the recognition of glucose can be avoided and the multilayer sensor with excellent long term stability can be recycled by changing pH value of buffer solutions. This system may be potential in realization of high selectivity and high sensitivity sensing system for probing carbohydrate.
7.Rapid Identification of Chemical Composition in Aloe Barbadensis Mill by Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry-Ion Trap-Time-of-Flight

This article was aimed to rapidly analyze chemical composition in A loe Barbadensis Mill, and to compare the chemical composition of commercial aloe vera medicinal materials with that of fresh aloe yellow exudate. An opti-mized liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry-ion trap-time-of-flight (LCMS-IT-TOF) method was applied for the analysis of commercial aloe vera medicinal materials and fresh aloe yellow exudates. The Agilent TC-C18 column (4.6 í 250 mm, 5 m) was used. The gradient elution was a solvent system of water(A)-methanol(B). ESI source was operated in both positive and negative ion modes. The results showed that chromones, pyrones, naphthalene deriva-tive, anthrones and anthraquinones were separated successfully, 30 compounds were characterized by the comparison of characteristic MS/MS fragment ions data with the literature. The diagnostic fragmentation patterns of different chemical compositions were also discussed on the basis of EST-IT-TOF MS data. It was concluded that the chemical composition of commercial aloe vera medicinal materials were significantly different from that of fresh aloe yellow ex-udate in terms of types and contents: the former one mainly contains isoaloeresin D and aloin, and few aloesin; but the latter is mainly composed of aloesin and aloin, and the content of aloesin is the highest. The LCMS-IT-TOF analysis can be used to rapidly obtain rich structural information of different chemical compositions, which improves the efficiency of qualitative analysis of chemical composition, and is of great significance to the quality control, eval-uation and the utilization of A loe Barbadensis Mill.
8.The validity of high-frequency Doppler ultrasound in identifying knees rheumatoid synovitis

ObjectivesTo examine the validity of high-frequency Doppler ultrasound in identifying knees synovitis in patients with rheumatoid arthritis(RA).MethodsNinety-five consecutive patients with active RA were examined withhigh-frequency Doppler ultrasound to examine synovitis signals in knees.Synovial tissue samples of 51 patients were obtained by closed needle biopsy from knees after ultrasound examination.Serial synovial tissue sections were stained with H&E and immunohistochemical staining,and the histopathological synovitis scores were evaluated.The relationship among clinical, histopathological and ultrasound synovitis indexes was analyzed by Spearman's rank order correlation test and receiver operating characteristic curve analysis.ResultsAmong 95 RA patients,the median thickness of synovial membrane in ultrasound was 2.8 mm,the median depth of effusion was 2.7 mm; Doppler signals of synovial blood flow were detected in 82%(78/95 ) of patients and the median semiquantitive grading of synovial blood flow was 1.0.The thickness of synovial membrane and synovial blood flow at Doppler ultrasound correlated positively with histological synovitis score,hyperplasia of the lining layer,and inflammatory infiltration in sublining area (the thickness of synovial membrane:r=0.438,0.424,0.368,respectively; synovial blood flow:r=0.357,0.377,0.347,respectively; all P<0.05).Although there was no significant difference in clinical synovitis indexes between patients with histologically low-grade and high-grade synovitis,the thickness of synovial membrane and synovial blood flow in ultrasound in patients with histologically high-grade synovitis was significantly higher than those with low-grade synovitis(P=0.001,0.036,respectively).When the thickness of synovial membrane in ultrasound was ≥ 3.9 mm,the specificity of diagnosing the high-grade synovitis was 96.7% and the sensitivity was 61.9%.ConclusionSynovitis signals at high-frequency Doppler ultrasound correlate with histopathological synovitis,and it might be helpful in evaluating the severity of histopathological synovitis.
9.Effects of adenosine supplementing cold blood cardioplegia on myocardial injury in patients undergoing mitral valve replacement

Objective To investigate the effects of adenosine supplementing cold blood cardioplegia on myocardial injury in patients undergoing milral valve replacement(MVR).Methods Thirty ASA Ⅱ or Ⅲ patients aged 18-64 yr with a BMI of 18-24 kg/m2 undergoing elective MVR were randomly divided into 2 groups(n =15each):control group(C)and adenosine group(A).In group A myocardial arrest was produced by infusing adenosine 6 mg diluted in normal saline 20 ml through aortic root after aorta was cross-clamped followed by cold blood cardiaplegic solution 20 mg/kg.In group C asystole was produced with cold blood cardioplegic solution 20 ml/kg alone every 30 min.Blood samples were taken from central vein at 5 min before(T1)and 4 h after aortic crossclamping(T2)and 24 h after operation(T3)for determination of plasma cardiac troponin Ⅰ(cTnI)concentration and creatine kinase-MB(CK-MB)activity.The amount of cardioplegic solution infused,cardiac arrest induction time(from infusion of adenosine or cardioplegic solution to asystole shown by ECG),restoration of spontaneous heartbeat,the amount of dopamine administered during the 2 h after CPB and aortic cross-clamping time were recorded.Results Supplementation of cold blood cardioplegia with adenosine significantly reduced cardiac arrest induction time,the total amount of dopamine administered during the 2 h after CPB and plasma cTnl concentration and CK-MB activity in group A compared with group C.Conclusion Cold blood cardioplegia supplemented with adenosine can attenuate myocardial injury in patients undergoing MVR.
10.Changes in TRESK mRNA expression in dorsal root ganglion in a rat model of neuropathic pain

Objective To evaluate the changes in the expression of diplopore potassium ion channel TRESK mRNA in dorsal root ganlion (DRG) in rats with neuropathic pain (NP) .Methods Thirty-two male SD rats weighing 220-250 g were randomly divided into 2 groups ( n = 16 each) : group sham operation (group S) and group NP. NP was induced by ligation and severance of left tibial and common fibular nerves according to the technique described by Decosterd. Eight rats in each group were sacrificed 1 day before and 14 day after operation and their L4,5 DRGs in the operated side were isolated for determination of TRESK mRNA expression by RT-PCR. In the remaining 8 rats in each group paw withdrawal threshold to mechanical stimuli ( MWT) and paw withdrawal latency to a thermal nociceptive stimulus (TWL) were measured at 1 day before (baseline) and 1, 3, 5, 7, 14 day after operation. Results MWT was significantly lower in group NP than in group S. The TRESK mRNA expression in L4,5 DRGs in the operated side was significantly decreased after operation as compared with the baseline before operation in group NP and was significantly lower in group NP than in group S. Conclusion The development and maintenance of NP may be closely related with down-regulation of TRESK mRNA.
