2.Relation between the features of unruptured intracranial aneurysm and its rupture risk:current research progress
Journal of Interventional Radiology 1994;0(03):-
Intracranial aneurysm is a common disorder. With the ongoing improvement of medical imaging technique, the chance of finding an unruptured intracranial aneurysm in clinical practice has steadily increased. The rupture of aneurysms can result in subarachnoid hemorrhage and even in life-threatening conditions. Recent researches have indicated that the rupture risk of intracranial aneurysms bears a close relationship to the aneurysm's features, such as the size, site, shape, number, growth orientation, growth rate, etc. A further understanding of the features of unruptured intracranial aneurysm is very valuable for the effective prevention of its rupture.

ObjectiveTo analyze the related data of patients with severe pesticide poisoning in Tongling area, put forward the countermeasures, and provide available basis to improve the level of prevention and treatment of the disease. Methods Forty patients with severe pesticide poisoning admitted to the Department of Critical Care Medicine of Tongling People's Hospital Affiliated to Wannan Medical College from August 2014 to November 2015 were analyzed retrospectively, the clinical data including distributions of sex, ages, kinds of poisoning drugs, causes of poisoning, time from intoxication to admission into a hospital, rescue therapy, prognosis etc. Results In the 40 patients, there were 12 males and 28 females, the ratio between male to female was 1∶2.33, and the number of women was significantly higher than that of men. Their ages ranged from 40 - 60 years, accounting for 37.5% (15/40). The toxic agent the most commonly seen was organic phosphorus pesticide (15 cases, accounting for 37.5%), and cases with mixed poisoning by taking two or more than two kinds of toxic material accounted for 25.0% (10/40). In addition, the cause of poisoning was mainly due to family quarrels (33 cases, accounting for 82.5%). In regard of time between taking toxic material to admission into a hospital, only did 3 cases admit into the hospital within 1 hour (7.5%), and the majority was within 3 hours (15 cases, accounting for 37.5%). The comprehensive treatments were as follows: clear means to clear the toxin, solution (to use antidote to detoxify), maintainance (to maintain the basic vital signs) and exclusion (to exclude other complications early); the curative effect of comprehensive treatments was satisfied, and 3 cases died, accounding for 7.5%.Conclusions The majority of patients with severe pesticide poisoning in Tongling city are adult females, the main cause of taking toxic material is due to family quarrels, and the toxic agent the most commonly seen is organic phosphorus pesticide. Directing to the above high risk factors, the prevention and treatment are carried out, anticipating the incidence, mortality and medical cost can be reduced significantly.

Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2016;18(2):138-143
Objective To analyze the factors influencing the total cost of hospitalization after internal fixation of intertrochanteric fracture. Methods Enrolled in this study were 142 patients with intertrochanteric fracture who had been treated at our department between March 2013 and August 2014.They were 54 men and 88 women, aged from 24 to 95 years (average 69.8 years).Intramedullary fixation was adopted in 135 cases while extramedullary fixation in 7.By AO classification,32 cases were type A 1,75 type A2 and 35 type A3.We analyzed their demographic data,fracture-associated factors,bleeding-associated factors and surgery-associated factors. For univariate analysis, the independent sample t test was performed between 2 groups.One-Way ANOVA analysis was performed among several groups. For multivariate analysis, multivariate linear regression analysis was performed.P < 0.05 was regarded as statistically significant. Results The independent sample test revealed that the total cost of hospitalization for those with preoperative deep venous thrombosis (6.9 ± 1.0 × 105 (¥)) was significantly higher than for those without (5.0 ± 0.8 × 105 (¥)) and the total cost for those undergoing intramedullary fixation (5.5 ± 1.2 × 105 (¥)) was significantly higher than for those undergoing extramedullary fixation (4.4 ±0.7 × 105 (¥)) (P < 0.05).The multiple linear regression analyses showed that preoperative deep venous thrombosis (t =11.750,P < 0.001),perioperative transfusion (t =2.803,P =0.006),hospital stay (t =5.949,P < 0.001) and intraoperative blood loss (t =2.885,P =0.005) were the independent factors influencing the total cost of hospitalization. Conclusions Preoperative deep venous thrombosis, perioperative transfusion, intraoperative blood loss, and hospital stay may influence the total cost of hospitalization for patients undergoing internal fixation of intertrochanteric fracture.More attention should be paid to control of the total cost of hospitalization in addition to ensuring the perioperative life safety.
6.Research status of pluripotent stem cells from different origins
International Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2011;34(2):122-125
Pluripotent stem cells are type of cells that can differentiate into cells of ectoderm, mesoderm and endoderm layers.Cells isolated from developing embryos such as embryonic stem cells, embryonic germ cells,as well as cells derived from adult tissues and bone marrow and testis, have been proved to be pluripotent.Recent studies demonstrated that differentiated cells from adult could be reprogrammed to become pluripotent by genetic manipulation. The characteristics of pluripotent cells from different origins are summarized in this review, and the possible relationship between those populations is discussed.
7.Research progress in the tumorigenicity of embryonic stem cells
International Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2013;36(5):299-302
Stem cells research is the hotspot in the field of biological science and medicine.Stem cells can be classified into embryonic stem cells and somatic stem cells.Embryonic stem cells derived from early preimplantation embryo have the pluripotent and unlimited self-renewal capacity. They are an attractive source for tissue engineering, gene therapy, basic study of developmental biology and so on.However, such therapies carry a risk of teratoma formation, and may contribute to the functional failure of the graft. Here,we discuss the reasons for the formation of teratoma and the solutions to this problem.
8.A new method for extracting visual saliency map for visual prosthesis
International Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2014;37(1):31-35
Objective Salient regions may express the main content (salient objects) in an image or scene.Since the number of implanted electrodes for visual prosthesis is limited, only the low-resolution image is used.Extraction of the salient regions may help capture salient objects in the scenes of visual prosthesis. Methods Salient regions detected by Itti model, one of salient detection models, have some differences with human visual perceptions and its salient objects boundary are also unclear. The Itti model was optimized by removing the orientation and the color characteristics, and converting the RGB image in an image or scene into the HSI color space with three new feature components of hue, saturation and intensity. In saliency map,the ratio of the salient point area in salient objects regions and the total salient point area was defined as salient accuracy and computed, which was used to compare the effects of the two methods of extracting salient map. Results Compared with the Itti method for extracting saliency map,the salient accuracy of the improved method was increased by about 20%,and the time for detecting the same salient regions by our method was shorter by nearly 50%.Conclusions The proposed algorithm can be an alternative method to extract salient map from a complex image or scene for retinal prosthesis with higher salient accuracy and less running time.
9.Acetylation regulatory mechanism of vascular aging
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2015;(10):1348-1351
Protein acetylation extensively regulates fundamental biological process, such as cardiovascular homeostasis and tu-morigenesis. Mechanism of protein acetylation and its abnormal changes during diseases has become one of the basic questions in medical research. Vascular aging is inseparable from the occur-rence and development of senile hypertension and coronary ather-osclerosis. Endothelial cell senescence plays a key role during this process. This paper reviews the research progress in acetyla-tion regulation during vascular aging, and the prospects of the re-search in this field.

Chinese Mental Health Journal 2002;0(12):-
Objective:To investigate the effect of restraint stress on T, B lymphocyte transformation rate and phagocytic function of peritoneal macrophage.Method:Cells were extracted from the abdominal cavity of mice with S180 tumor and then were injected subcutaneously in the right oxter in 0.2 ml/mouse. Some of the mice were bound at the same time. There were four groups in all, they were normal control, tumor mice without restrain, restrained mice without tumor, and mice with both tumor cell injection and restrain. All mice were killed after 10 days, T and B lymphocyte transformation rates of spleen were examined, the phagocytic function of peritoneal macrophage was also tested. The weights of tumors were also recorded.Result:Compared with tumor mice without restrain, the mice with both tumor injection and restrain had lower T, B lymphocyte transformation rates and lower phagocytic function of peritoneal macrophage. The weight of tumor in the study group was also higher than that of tumor mice without restrain. Conclusion:Restraint stress aggravates the depression of the immune function of mice with S180 tumor and promotes the growth of the tumor.
