OBJECTIVETo analyze the changes in CIE L*, a*, and b* at cervical, body, and incisal sites after tooth bleaching by using a spectrophotometer.
METHODSSixty-seven intact and healthy maxillary central incisors were in-vestigated. These incisors were darker than A3 according to the Vita Classical shade guide. The CIE tooth shade parameters L*, a*, and b* were simultaneously recorded at three tooth areas (cervical, body, and incisal) with a spectrophotometer before and after tooth bleaching (35%H2O2 coordinating with Beyond whitening accelerator irradiating). The shade dif-ferential (DeltaE) was calculated. ANOVA, paired t-test, and Pearson correlation analysis were used for data analysis.
RESULTSThe efficacy rates of tooth bleaching were satisfactory, with 86.6%, 86.6%, and 85.1% in the cervical, body, and incisal sites, respectively. The average values of DeltaE were 5.09, 4.44, and 4.40 in the cervical, body, and incisal sites. Tooth bleaching significantly increased L* and significantly decreased a* and b* in all tooth areas (P < 0.01). The decreasing range of Deltab* was more than the increasing range of DeltaL* at the cervical site; opposite results were observed at the incisal site. A positive correlation was detected between baseline b* and DeltaE.
CONCLUSIONThe spectrophotometer could objectively evaluate the whitening effect of tooth bleaching at the different tooth sites. The tooth bleaching system (35%H202 coordinating with Beyond whitening accelerator irradiating) exerts powerful bleaching actions in most of the tooth areas investigated. The order of tooth bleaching effectiveness is cervicalbody>incisal. Yellow coloration is decreased mainly at the cervical site, and brightness was increased mostly at theincisal site. The effectiveness of tooth bleaching increases as the baseline b* value increases.

World Science and Technology-Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2015;17(4):880-884
Extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1 and 2 (ERK1/2) pathway, which was the first cell signal transduction pathway to be discovered, consisted of Ras, Raf, MEK1/2 and ERK1/2. After the activation of ERK1/2 pathway, extracellular signals can be transmitted from the cell membrane to the nucleus. It was involved in many physiological and pathological functions of cells, such as growth, proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis and etc. It was also related to the onset of many diseases, which included multiple sclerosis (MS) and experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE). The activation of ERK1/2 pathway can induce the activation of astrocyte, MG, T cell and macrophage, which released a variety of inflammatory cytokines. It caused myelin damage which induced MS/EAE onset. A number of studies indicated that inhibiting ERK1/2 pathway can reduce the releasing of inflammatory cytokines and myelin damage for MS/EAE alleviation. It provided an important target for the development of MS treatment medication.

Chinese Journal of Medical Genetics 2021;38(11):1091-1096
OBJECTIVE:
To explore the effect of HNF1A-AS1 on the proliferation, migration and invasion of IL-6-induced hemangioendothelial cells (HemEC) and possible mechanism.
METHODS:
RT-qPCR was used to detect the expression level of HNF1A-AS1 and miR-363-3p in the tumor tissue and adjacent normal skin tissue from 35 patients with hemangioma. Pearson correlation was used to analyze the correlation between the expression of HNF1A-AS1 and miR-363-3p in tumor tissues. HemEC were isolated and cultured in vitro.Dual luciferase reporter gene experiment was used to study the regulatory effect between HNF1A-AS1 and miR-363-3p. IL-6 was added to HemEC transfected with si-NC, si-HNF1A-AS1, si-HNF1A-AS1 and anti-miR-NC, or si-HNF1A-AS1 and anti-miR-363-3p, respectively. CCK-8 method and clone formation experiment were used to detect cell proliferation in each group. Transwell method was used to detect cell migration and invasion in each group. Western blotting was used to detect the expression of Ki67, MMP-2 and MMP-9 proteins in each group.
RESULTS:
Compared with normal skin tissues, the expression of IL-6 mRNA in hemangioma tissues was increased (P<0.05), and the expression of IL-6 mRNA in the proliferative phase was lower than that in the degenerative phase (P<0.05). Expression of HNF1A-AS1 in hemangioma tissue was increased (P<0.05), while that of miR-363-3p was decreased (P<0.05), and the two were negatively correlated (r=-0.758, P<0.05). HNF1A-AS1 down-regulated the expression of miR-363-3p in HemEC.IL-6 promoted the expression of HNF1A-AS1, OD value, number of colonies, number of migration and invasion of HemEC cells, and the expression of Ki67, MMP-2 and MMP-9proteins (P<0.05), while reduced the expression of miR-363-3p (P<0.05). Down-regulating si-HNF1A-AS1 reduced the IL-6-induced HemEC cell OD value, colony numbers, migration and invasion and the expression of Ki67, MMP-2 and MMP-9 proteins (P<0.05). Down-regulating miR-363-3p attenuated the inhibitory effect of down-regulating si-HNF1A-AS1 on the proliferation, migration and invasion of HemEC cells induced by IL-6 (P<0.05).
CONCLUSION
Expression of HNF1A-AS1 is increased in hemangioma tissues. Down-regulating HNF1A-AS1 may inhibit proliferation, migration and invasion of IL-6-induced hemangioma endothelial cells by targeted up-regulation of miR-363-3p.

Objective:To explore the value of synthetic MRI in quantitative monitoring of knee joint structural and cartilage changes of amateur marathon runners before and after the whole marathon. Methods:Totally 26 amateur marathon enthusiasts from Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province were recruited from October 2019 to January 2020. The right knee joints were scanned 1 week before the race and within 48 h after the race. The scanning sequence included the three-dimensional proton density weighted image with isotropic (3D-CUBE-PD) sequence and synthetic MRI sequence. The conventional contrast weighted images T 1WI, T 2WI, proton density (PD) weighted imaging, short-T 1 inversion recovery (STIR) and T 1, T 2, PD mapping were obtained by the latter scans. The 3D-CUBE-PD sequence was used as a reference to evaluate the detection of knee joint lesions. The knee articular cartilage was divided into 8 subregions: central medial femoral condyle (CMFC), posterior medial femoral condyle (PMFC), central lateral femoral condyle (CLFC), posterior lateral femoral condyle (PLFC), medial tibia plateau (MTP), lateral tibia plateau (LTP), patella and trochlear. Based on the synthetic MRI quantitative mapping, the T 1, T 2 and PD values of each cartilage subregion were measured independently by 2 radiologists. The ICC was used to evaluate the consistency of the measurement between observers. The T 1, T 2 and PD values of knee cartilage before and after marathon exercise were compared by Wilcoxon signed rank test. Results:The 2 radiologists had good consistency in the measurement of T 1, T 2 and PD values of knee articular cartilage with the ICC values of 0.912, 0.933 and 0.954, respectively. The synthetic MRI quantitative mapping sequence can detect all cartilage damage ( n=3) and joint effusion ( n=15), and 7 of 9 meniscus injuries were detected. The T 1, T 2 and PD values of the knee cartilage as a whole before the race were higher than those after race, and the differences were statistically significant (all P<0.05). The T 1 values were statistically significant except patellar cartilage and trochlear cartilage, and T 2 values were significantly different in the CMFC, LTP, MTP ( P<0.05). Conclusion:Synthetic MRI has a good display of knee joint structural lesions, and its quantitative parameters T 1, T 2 and PD can detect the changes of knee cartilage before and after marathon.
