Objective To investigate the efficacy of transurethral electroresection combined with intravesical irrigation with epirubicin for cystitis glandularis. Methods From January 2000 to January 2006,130 patients with cystitis glandularis were treated with transurethral electroresection. The whole depth of diseased mucosa and adjacent normal mucosal tissues(1 cm away)were resected. One week after the operation, intravesical irrigation with epirubicin were carried out(50 mg per time, once a week for 8 weeks, and then once a month for 2 years). Results Five of the patients developed urethral stenosis after the electroresection, and were cured by dilating the urethra at a regular interval. No complications occurred in the other patients.Bladder symptoms disappeared in 98 patients;23 cases had urinary symptoms occasionally, but cystoscopy showed normal vesical mucosa.Nine of the patients had recurrent cystitis,5 of which showed non-irrigation-induced hematuria 6-12 months after the operation, and 4 were found during regular re-examination by cystoscopy.Transurethral electroresection was performed again on these 9 patients, after they were diagnosed by biopsy;and then intravesical irrigation with hydroxycamptothecin(20 mg per time)were given. They were followed up for 12 months, during which no one had recurrence. Conclusions Transurethral electroresection combined with intravesical chemotherapy is effective for cystitis glandularis. The method is worth being widely used.

Objective To observe the dynamic changes of endothelial progenitor cells (EPC)and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in the patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI)after percutaneous transluminal coronary intervention (PCI). Methods The level of VEGF before and after PCI in 50 cases with AMI were determined by fluorescence immunoassay and enzyme-linked immunosorbnent assay (ELISA),and the ratio of EPC in flood was checked by flow cytometry. Results The level of EPC was higher after PCI than before PCI [(4.15 ± 0.22)% vs.(0.59 ±0.02) %,P<0.01],and there were positive correlations between EPC and number of coronary artery disease (r=0.45,P < 0.05 ),coronary artery lesions ( r =0.76,P < 0.01 ),left ventricular enddiastolic diameter (r=0.68,P<0.01),ejection fraction (r=0.75,P<0.01).The VEGF levels after PCI was increased [(506± 120)μg/L vs.(204±98)μg/L,P<0.01],and its level was positively related with coronary lesions (r=0.66,P<0.01),left ventricular ejection fraction(r=0.90,P<0.01).There was association between rising rates of EPC and VEGF in a short time after PCI within 24 h period (r=0.56,P<0.01). Conclusions The clinical efficacy and prognosis can be assessed by the changes of VEGF level and EPC ratio before and after PCI operation in AM1 patients.

Objective: To optimize the inclusion process of volatile oil in Xiao' er Jiegan particle. Methods: β-Cyclodextrin was used as the inclusion material.Orthogonal experiments were performed, and the yield of volatile oil inclusion complex and the inclusion rate of volatile oil were taken as the indices to study the influence of inclusion temperature, inclusion time and the ratio of β-cyclodextrin to volatile oil (g∶ml) on the inclusion process. The β-CD-volatile oil inclusion complex was added to Xiao' er Jiegan particle and the stability studies were conducted as well. Results: The optimum volatile oils inclusion process of Xiao'er Jiegan particle was as follows: the inclusion temperature was 40℃, the inclusion time was 3 h , and the ratio of β-cyclodextrin to volatile oil (g∶ml) was 8∶1.The loss of volatile oil prepared by direct injection method was 51.27% after 6-month storage at room temperature, while that prepared by the inclusion method was only 3.13% after 24-month storage at room temperature. Conclusion: The optimized inclusion process of volatile oil is reasonable and feasible, and the stability of the prepared particle is also promising.

Lateral ankle avulsion fracture is a common sports injury that can lead to chronic lateral ankle instability and substantial deterioration of the joint function. Currently, problems such as misdiagnosis, inappropriate treatment, disparate outcomes and lack of standardization are usually met in the diagnosis and treatment of lateral ankle avulsion fracture. The Foot and Ankle Committee of Chinese Association of Sports Medicine Physicians thus organized a working group of experts in the field of sports medicine and ankle surgery from China to develop "An evidence-based clinical guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of lateral ankle avulsion fractures (2022 version)" in accordance with the principle of evidence-based medicine and scientificity and practicability. The guideline covered the topics of imaging diagnosis, indications and methods of non-operative and operative treatment as well as postoperative rehabilitation, in order to provide guidance for the diagnosis and treatment of lateral ankle avulsion fracture.

Background and Objectives:
p21, an important member of the Cip/Kip family, is involved in inhibitory effects of RUNX1b overexpression during the early stage of human hematopoiesis.
Methods:
and Results: We established a human embryonic stem cell (hESC) line with inducible expression of p21 (p21/hESCs). Overexpression of p21 did not influence either mesoderm induction or emergence of CD34+ cells, but it significantly decreased the production of CD43+ cells and changed the expression profile of hematopoiesis-related factors, leading to the negative effects of p21 on hematopoiesis.
Conclusions
In RUNX1b/hESC co-cultures when RUNX1b was induced from D0, perturbation of the cell cycle caused by upregulation of p21 probably prevented the appearance of CD43+ cells, but not CD34+ cells. The mechanisms via which CD34+ cells are blocked by RUNX1b overexpression remain to be elucidated.
