Chinese Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science 2015;24(9):838-841
Objective To explore the influence on each dimension of executive function of social drinkers with moderate dose of alcohol intake and different alcohol expectations. Methods 90 university students who were social drinkers allocated randomly by a lottery method to drinking group (n=31),control group (n=30) and placebo group (n=29).The Stroop task,1-Back task and local-global task were employed to measure executive function from three aspects respectively, namely the inhibition, updating and shifting process. Results Drinking group was compared with the Control group in the three dimensions of executive function:inhibition ((61.65 ± 26.31) ms,(42.48 ± 32.94) ms),updating ((557.23 ± 86.24) ms,(515.02 ± 70.24) ms),and shifting process ((718.85±246.03) ms,(553.95± 151.74) ms).The differences were statistically significant (P<0.05 or P<0.01).Placebo group was compared with the control group,in the three dimensions of executive function:inhibition ((39.25±29.35) ms,(42.48±32.94) ms),updating ((516.32±73.25) ms,(515.02±70.24) ms),and shifting process ((591.20± 193.07) ms,(553.95± 151.74) ms),all the differences had no statistically significance (P> 0.05).In the drinking group, positive expectation was negatively related to each dimension of executive function (-0.427,-0.330,-0.383).The inhibition and the shifting process appeared significant correlation(P<0.05).Negative expectation was positively related to each dimension of executive function (0.251,0.323,0.377).The shifting process appeared significant correlation (P<0.05).Regression analysis showed that positive expectation was significantly negative predictions of inhibition and shifting process. Conclusion Executive function of social drinkers is damaged after moderate alcohol intake, and there are differences between executive function damage of different alcohol expectancy drinkers.
2.HISTOLOGICAL AND HISTOCHEMICAL CHANGES IN THE HEMATOPOIETIC TISSUES OF RATS AFTER TOTAL BODY X-IRRADIATION Ⅰ. THE SPLEEN
Acta Anatomica Sinica 1954;0(02):-
Sixty-two adult rats were employed, 8 of them served as controls and the remainderwere exposed to whole body X-irradiation in a single dose of 500 r. The animals weresacrificed at intervals of 2, 6, 12 hours and 1, 3, 6, 10, 20, 30 days after irradiation.Specimens of the spleen were obtained from both the experimental and control groups forhistological and histochemical examinations. The data indicate that: 1. A marked decrease in the spleen size and in the number of its Malpighian cor-puscles, and a severe destruction of its architecture with an extensive necrosis of lympho-cytes, occurred within 24 hours after irradiation. Regeneration began on the 6th day andthe spleen became almost normal at the end of the 30th day. Among the various cell-types of the spleen, the radiosensitivity was highest in the lymphocytes and lowest in theplasma cells. The reticular cells were apparently injured during the early stage afterirradiation, though they belonged to the radioresistant series. 2. The decrease in staining intensity of both desoxyribose-and ribose nucleic acidsof the spleen started as early as 2 hours after irradiation and continued to reach itsmaximum in a period of 1--3 days. This result was produced not only by the depletionin cell population, but also by the decrease in nucleic acid content of individual cells. 3. A marked increase in the activity of nonspecific alkaline phosphatase and ade-nosine triphosphatase occurred within 24 hours and it returned gradually to normal fromthe 3rd day to the 10th day after irradiation. 4. There was no significant change in the amount of protein-bound SH-groups ofvarious cell-types of the spleen in each post-irradiation period. 5. No difference was found in the changes produced by irradiation between theanimals fed with normal diet and those fed with phospholipides in addition.

The distribution and morphology of 5-HT immunoreactive endocrine cells in the gastrointestinal tract of 5 adult rats were studied by the immunohistochemicael PAP method with nickel-intensified DAB on paraffin sections of intestine rolls. The density of 5-HT immunoreactive endocrine cells in the gastrointestinal tract of the rat is highest in the pylorus, duodenum and colon and moderate in the jejunum, ileum, caecum and rectum and lowest in the body of the stomach. The 5-HT immunoreactive endocrine cells are various in shape. Some of them have several processes extending between other epithelial cells. The basal portion of some endocrine cells have processes with 5-HT positive substance accumulating in their ends. The processes of the basal portion of some endocrine cells extend into lamina propria through the basal membrane. The 5-HT positive substance of many endocrine cells can be found to extend to luminal surface of the crypt or intestinal tract. These results indicate that the 5-HT immunoreactive endocrine cells can release 5-HT by both endocrine and exocrine ways.

Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2023;21(6):512-520
Neuropathic pain(NP)is directly caused by lesions or diseases of the somatosensory system. It can be attributed to a variety of causes and has a complex pathological mechanism.Purinergic P2X receptors play a critical role in NP.P2X receptors will be activated by the extracellular adenosine triphosphate(ATP)to mediate the pain when the tissue is damaged. In vertebrates, there are 7 subtypes of P2X receptors(P2X1-7)encoded by genes, among which the receptors of P2X3,P2X4,and P2X7 are closely related to NP.Acupuncture produces good therapeutic efficacy on NP.To explore the mechanism of purinergic signaling involved in acupuncture analgesia,a review of the actions of P2X3,P2X4,and P2X7 receptors in acupuncture for NP was conducted. The P2X3 receptor is specifically expressed in small-and moderate-sized neurons in the dorsal root ganglion of the primary afferent nerve and trigeminal ganglion.Acupuncture can directly mediate analgesia by down-regulating the expression of P2X3 receptor in neurons.P2X4 and P2X7 receptors mainly exist in the spinal microglia.Acupuncture can inhibit the nociceptive transmission of substantia gelatinosa neurons by regulating P2X4 receptor in spinal microglia. Moreover, acupuncture may alleviate NP by inhibiting the secretion of inflammatory factors by reducing P2X7 receptor in the spinal microglia.
