Objective To observe the curative effects of pterygium excision combined with autologous limbal stem cell transplantation in the treatment of primary pterygium. Methods 50 cases (72 eyes) of primary pterygium were selected in our hospital.According to the method of random number table,50 canses were divided into the control group (37 eyes) underwent pterygium excision and the study group (35 eyes) received autologous limbal stem cell transplantation on the basis of the control group, with 25 cases in each, and the efficacy were compare between the two groups. Results The healing time of study group[(3.02±0.37)d] was significantly shorter than in the control group[(6.85±0.48)d](t=2.95,P=0.01) and the recurrence rate (20%) was significantly lower than in the control group (52%) (x2=10.35,P=0.03),and the postoperative complications rate (8%) was significantly lower than in the control group (36%) (x2=13.94,P=0.03).Conclusion Compared with pure pterygium excision, pterygium excision combined with autologous limbal stem cell transplantation in the treatment of primary pterygium has higher clinical efficacy, which can effectively shorten the repair time and reduce recurrence rate, with high safety,so it is worthy of further promotion and application in clinic.

This study was aimed to investigate the research on pharmacological effects, relevant ideas and methods of Guangdong native heat-clearing and toxin-removing herbs. Literatures on pharmacological effects of Guangdong native heat-clearing and toxin-removing herbs were collected, summarized and analyzed. The results showed that most Guangdong native heat-clearing and toxin-removing herbs had obvious effects of anti-microbial, anti-bacterial endotoxin, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic effect. It also had obvious antivenomous and analgesia effect. Based on research ideas and methods of Guangdong native heat-clearing and toxin-removing herbs, we clarified the confusion species as soon as possible, and adhered to the whole animal experiments in combination with in vitro experiments and computer molecular docking simulations for the complementation of each other. It was concluded that the study on pharmacological effects of Guangdongnative heat-clearing and toxin-removing herbs provided strong support in its clinical application. Ideas and methods provided in this article was the main way to explain pharmacological effects of Guangdong native heat-clearing and toxin-removing herbs.

Objective:To investigate the effect of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) on the behavior and the mismatch negativity (MMN) component of the auditory evoked potential of autistic children.Methods:Thirty-four autistic children were randomly divided into an anode stimulation group ( n=19) and a pseudo-stimulation group ( n=16). Both groups were given one hour of routine rehabilitation five times a week for 4 weeks, while the anode stimulation group was additionally provided with 20 minutes of tDCS 3 times a week. Before and after the treatment, both groups′ behavior was evaluated by using autism behavior checklist (ABC) as well as any changes in MMN of the auditory evoked EEG signals. Results:There were no significant differences between the two groups in any of the measurements before the treatment. Afterwards behavior had improved significantly in both groups, with significantly greater improvement in the stimulated group. In the stimulated group the average MMN amplitude had increased significantly and the average latency had decreased significantly. However, no such significant changes were observed in the pseudo-stimulation group. There was a significant linear correlation between the changes in the incubation period of MMN components and the improvements in ABC, vestibular functioning, tactile defense and proprioception. Conclusion:Anodal tDCS combined with conventional rehabilitation therapy can effectively increase the MMN amplitude and shorten the latency in autistic children, improving their brain function.

As an important means of treating heart failure (HF), cardiac assist device has been widely used in clinic. This paper reviews the application status, existing problems and future development trend of cardiac assist devices, including the classification of cardiac assist devices, representative research achievements and indications of the assist devices. It also summarizes the biomechanical indexes of the heart and the new approaches and methods for treating heart failure, as well as the hemodynamic studies of cardiac assist devices in recent years. The research findings provide references for further optimization of cardiac assist device structure and clinical application of the device.
