Objective To assess the prevalence of gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD) in the population of Fujian province, and to analyze the risk factors in relation to the disease. Methods A survey on GERD symptoms and its related factors was carried out in the population of Fuzhou city in Fujian province using a stratified random sampling method. According to reflux disease questionnaire (RDQ) score, the subjects were divided to GERD group with Sc≥ 12 and control group with Sc< 12.The risk factors related to GERD were compared between two groups. Results A total of 1347residents were investigated. The prevalence of GERD was 8.76 %, and male to female ratio wasincreased in population above 40 years of age (P<0.05). The incidence of GERD in subjects with different occupations was as follows: the businessmen [17.91%(12/67)], retirees [13.48%(12/89)]and soldiers [2.94%(2/68)]. Symptoms including abdominal distension, belching, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia were common in GERD group compared to control group (P < 0.01). Besides, the laryngitis, pharyngitis and mouth ulcer were common in GERD group compared to control group ( P<0.05). The risk factors of GERD were eating greasy (OR= 1.589) and sweetmeat (OR= 2.413),overeating (OR = 2.053), constipation (OR = 1.650), acridity food (OR = 1.366 ), coffee (OR =1.295), strong tea (OR= 1.362). Conclusions The prevalence of GERD is high in the population of Fujian province, and many factors are closely related to reflux.

Objective To understand the gene characteristics of envelope region of human T lymphotropic virus type Ⅰ(HTLV Ⅰ)from Shantou region of China. Methods The gene of proviral envelope region of HTLV Ⅰ Shantou strain (named HTLV Ⅰ WHP)was amplified by PCR,using 4 designed primers, and then was sequenced, meanwhile it was compared with that of various HTLV Ⅰ representative strains from all around the world, and subsequently it was analyzed to construct its phylogenetic tree. Results The nucleotide sequence of complete envelope region of HTLV Ⅰ WHP provirus we have obtained was 1466 bp.There no deletion and insertion in the deducted amino acid sequence. The results of phylogenetic tree analysis showed that the HTLV Ⅰ WHP strain was most closed to some of the strains from Japan and Caribbean, and like the latter, belonged to the subtypea of cosmopolitan group. Conclusion The HTLV Ⅰ strains either from the coastal region of Southeast China or from Japan,Caribbean and so on have the common origin of evolution.

Journal of Peking University(Health Sciences) 2003;0(06):-
Preimplantation genetic diagnosis is the integration of both assisted reproductive technologiesand molecular genetic technologies.Since the birth of the first healthy females after PGD in 1990,re-markable advances have been achieved in this field. Most research in PGD is focused on new methods toimprove the sensitivity and accuracy of single cell analysis. The principal problems in single cell PCR in-clude amplification failure,ADO and contamination.Fluorescent PCR with multiplex amplifications ofhighly polymorphic markers is a highly effective strategy to avoid contamination and detect ADO.The ad-vantages and disadvantages of fluorescence in situ hybridization to detect age-related aneuploidy are stillunder debate. We summarize the most recent developments in this review, and also introduce our own ex-periences in PGD.

Objective To investigate effects of mental nursing on psychological state of patients with pneumoconiosis. Methods 160 pneumoconiosis patients were divided into 8 groups randomly, and 20 patients were included in each group. Psychological characteristics were observed before mental nurs-ing, and 15, 30 and 60 days after mental nursing. The numbers of the youth, the middle-aged and the el-derly patients who demonsrated four or more kinds of psychological characteristics after 60 days mental nursing were compared.320 patients of the same kind were divided into the two aspects of mental nursing group and all aspects of mental nursing group, the number of patients who appeared four or more kinds of psychological characteristics after 60 days mental nursing was recorded. Results The number of pneu-moconiosis patients who clearly appeared four or more kinds of psychological characteristics decreased after 15 days, but it had no statistical significance, the number decreased significantly after 30 days and 60 days of mental nursing, and the latter decreased more significantly. Both of the numbers of two aspects of mental nursing group and all aspects of mental nursing group decreased significantly, and the latter decreased more significantly. The number of the youth decreased most significantly, while it had no statistical significance between the middle-aged and the elderly group. Conclusions Mental nursing for the pneumoconiosis pa-tients is a long-term project, comprehensive mental nursing to pneumoconiosis patients has great influence, but the influence varies for patients with different ages.

Objective To study the changes of hematological indices of blood donors after 400ml whole-blood donation. Methods Blood specimens of 123 healthy donors were collected before donation,1 day,7 days,1 month, and 3 months after donation. The dynamic changes of WBC,RBC,hemoglobin, hematocrit,Plt,plasma total protein, albumin and blood serum iron were observed. Results After donation, the changes of WBC,Plt,total protein of blood plasma and albumin showed no significant change. The levels of RBC,hemoglobin, hematocrit and blood serum iron returned to normal after 3 months. Conclusion For anyone who meets the health standard of blood donors,to donate 400ml whole blood at 3-month interval is harmless.

Objective To assess the prevalence and related factors of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in troops stationed in southern China. Methods An investigation with validated questionnaire and stratified random sampling method was carried out in troops stationed in southern China to survey the prevalence of GERD and its related factors. According to the definition of reflux disease questionnaire (RDQ) score, the severity and frequency of the dominant symptoms of GERD,such as heartburn, acid regurgitation, food reflux and non-cardiogenic chest pain were scored. People with score equaled to and higher than 12 (Sc≥12) were assigned to patient group, and those with score lower than 12 (Sc0.05). Subjects in the patient group had a higher incidence of abdominal distension, belching, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain compared with control group. A higher incidence of laryngitis, pharyngitis and ulcerative stomatitis (P

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1983;0(05):-
To evaluate the charasteristics and risk factors of hospital infections in patients with contagious diseases, 489 patients with contagious diseases were analyzed. Among 18 patients who contracted hospital infections, 17 were suffering from chronic hepatitis. 77 78% of them were over 40 years old. Infection of ascitic fluid, lower respiratory tract, and blood stream comprised 77 78% of the infections. Most of the doctors used antibiotics empirically. The survey showed that patients over 40 years old in an infectious diseases hospital were vulnerable to hospital infections. Hospital infection often occurred in the abdomen, lower respiratory tract, and blood stream. Abdominal paracentesis liver puncture biopsy, and lumbar puncture were the first three exogenous risk factors.
10.Acupuncturists and their academic contributions in Lingnan area: a review.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2014;34(6):611-614
The academic thoughts of Lingnan acupuncture and moxibustion have been an essential part of Lingnan medicine. By exploration and arrangement of Lingnan medicine and books, journals and literatures regarding acupuncture and moxibustion, the ancient and modern acupuncturists and their academic contributions in Lingnan area were reviewed. As a result, the number of Lingnan acupuncturists and their works was low before Qing Dynasty, while from the Republic of China era to People's Republic of China, a considerable amount of acupuncturists emerged with quite a lot of works. By exploration and arrangement of Lingnan acupuncturists and their works and academic opinion, the acupuncture-moxibustion school characterized by Lingnan could be formed and developed.
