1.Molecular Cloning and Immunological Characterization of Enolase from Streptococcus suis 2

To understand the enolase(eno)gene and its product in Streptococcus suis serotype 2(S.suis 2), bioinformatics was adopted to analyze the whole genome sequence of the Chinese strain 05ZYH33 of S.suis 2.A highly homologous eno gene was unveiled by the genome-wide mining.A pair of specific primers was designed for the eno,and the target DNA fragment of 1.3 kb was successfully amplified using the genomic template of 05ZYH33.Subsequently,eno gene was inserted into pMD18-T vector,and then subcloned into prokaryotic expression vector pET32a,generating a recombinant expression plasmid pET32a::eno.The resulting plasmid was confirmed by direct DNA sequencing and transformed into E.coli BL21(DE3) competent cells.Protein expression analysis showed that a 75 kD protein can be observed in 12% SDS-PAGE,indicating that the recombinant 6His-fused ENO protein can be produced in E.coli under the induction of IPTG.Westem-blot experiment demonstrated clearly it shares strong specific antigenicity. Moreover,ELISA result suggested that ENO can occur on the surface of 05ZYH33 strain.Together,our data ENO can function as a novel antigen,and may play pivotal roles in the severe infection of S.suis 2.
2.Comparison of the renal effects of Dopamine and Dobutamine in sepsis

Objective To compare the renal effects of dopamine and dobutamine in patients with sepsis.Methods 90 patients with sepsis were admitted to this study.After resuscitation,each patient was randomly given different vasoactive agent.The changes in urine output,fractional excretion of sodium(FeNa),and creatinine clearance(CCr)were observed.Results The urine output and FeNa in dopamine group were increased significantly as compared with control group and dobutamine group[(3072±480),(2038±515)and(362±522)ml/24h,(3.80±1.09),(2.06±1.14)and(2.10±0.95)%](P<0.05).Compared with control group and dopamine group,CCr increased significantly in dobutamine group[(79.2±39.1),(50.6±21.8)and(47.4±16.7)ml/min](P<0.05).Conclusion Dopamine infusion markedly elevates urine output and FeNa,but has no effect on CCr.Dobutamine treatment misht significantly increase CCr,but has no effect on urine output.
3.Clinical analysis of lingual tonsillar hypertrophy on 34 cases

Thirty-four patients with chronic lingual tonsillar hypertrophy were treated in our department from 1994 to 2000. There were 18 males and 16 females ranging in age from 21 to 60 years old. The clinical feature of lingual tonsillar hypertrophy usually appeared a series of pharyngeal symptoms, such as foreign-body sensation, sore throat, speech change, difficulty in swallowing, dysapnea and obstructive sleep apnea. The CO2 laser surgical lingual tonsillectomy was used for these patients. Result showed that the cure rate was 100% without any serious complications by following up 2 months to 3 years. The variety of presentations of lingual tonsillar hypertrophy and methods of surgical treament were discussed.
4.Evaluation on technical efficiency of high-tech medical equipment in county-level public hospitals in Guangxi based on DEA model

Objective:To evaluate the efficiency of high-tech medical equipment of county-level hospitals in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and to provide a scientific foundation for high-tech medical equipment configuration planning for county-level hospitals.Methods: DEA model was used to evaluate the relative efficiency of 40 county-level hospitals in Guangxi.Results: 4 among 40 hospitals (10.00%) could be categorized as effective hospitals, and pure technical efficiency is not high in 30 hospitals (75.00%). The returns to scale decreased in 20 hospitals (50.00%), and 16 hospitals (40.00%) increased. The average number of the overall efficiency, pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency of the 40 hospitals were 0.684, 0.753 and 0.908 respectively. Conclusion: Departments concerned should set reasonable evaluation index to ensure that the evaluation is scientific. Hospitals should strengthen the internal management of high-tech medical equipment to improve the utilization rate of the equipment. Departments concerned are supposed to curb or enlarge the number of the high-tech medical equipment to improve the scale efficiency of the equipment.
5.Therapeutic Observation of Triple Needling plus Centro-square Needling for Hemifacial Spasm

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of triple needling and centro-square needling in treating hemifacial spasm. Method Sixty-eight patients with facial spasm were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 34 in each group. The treatment group was intervened by centro-square needling at topical Ashi points and triple needling at Yifeng (TE 17) on the affected side; the control group was intervened by regular acupuncture. The two groups were treated once a day, 10 times as a treatment course, for 3 courses in total. Cohen Albert grading scale was adopted to evaluate the spasm intensity before and after the intervention, and the clinical efficacies were then compared.Result After intervention, there was a significant difference in comparing the spasm intensity between the two groups (P<0.05). The significant improvement rate was 88.2% in the treatment group versus 50.0% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Triple needling plus centro-square needling is an effective method in treating hemifacial spasm. This method uses less points, but it produces a high efficacy, strong pertinence, and is easy-to-operate.
6.Endovascular treatment modalities in patients with ischemic stroke

Ischemic cerebrovascular disease is one of the major reasons of mortality and disability in adult populations.Ultra-early recanalization is by far the most positive treatment.Relative to intravenous thrombolysis,various endovascular treatment modalities can extend therapeutic time window and increase the recanalization rate.Furthermore,interventional therapy can also improve the clinical outcomes of patients by increasing the perfusion of colhteral circulation.This article reviews various endovascular treatment modalities and their application validated in previous clinical studies in China.
7.Roles of neuroimaging in endovascular recanalization in patients with ischemic stroke

Ischemic cerebrovascular disease accounts for about 70% of all types of stroke,and large vessel occlusive stroke is a major subtype of ischemic stroke.Currently,endovascular revascularization has been widely used in the treatment of large vessel occlusive stroke.The development of multi-modal neuroimaging has provided technical support to this.This article reviews the roles of neuroimaging in endovascular recanalization in patients with ischemic stroke.
