1.Effects of intravitreal injection of Lucentis for anterior segment neovascularization indeced by central retinal vein occlusion
International Eye Science 2016;16(8):1573-1575
Abstract?AIM:To investigate the therapeutic effect of Lucentis in the treatment of anterior segment neovascularization ( ASNV ) induced by central retinal vein occlusion ( CRVO) .?METHODS: This was a retrospective case series study for patients with ASNV secondary to CRVO from January 2013 to December 2014 and treated with intravitreal injection of lucentis. Best visual acuity ( BCVA ) , intraocular pressure ( IOP ) , iris examination and gonioscopy, and if necessary, fluorescein angiography and optical coherence tomography, were recorded. The follow-up time was 6-13mo, the average was 9.1 ± 2.9mo.?RESULTS: Eighteen patients ( 18 eyes ) were treated with intravitreal injection of lucentis;15 patients (15 eyes) of the 18 were treated with panretinal photocoagulation;the other 3 patients 3 eyes were not received the photocoagulation because of vitreous opacity. One patient was treated with glaucoma valve implantation.Six patients with only neovascularization and without glaucoma were improved in visual acuity whose intraocular pressure was controlled after combined treatment.Of the patients with neovascular glaucoma ( n=12 ) , after intravitreal injection of lucentis and panretinal photocoagulation, the IOP was controlled in 4 patients (4 eyes);the IOP of another 7 cases reduced but glaucoma drugs were still needed. One patient ( 1 eye ) received glaucoma valve implantation because of bad control on IOP with worse vision after implantation. The rubeosis disappeared in all patients.?CONCLUSION:Intravitreal injection of lucentis can stop neovascularization and help to control IOP.In the early stage without neovascular glaucoma, lucentis has better effects, which means early detection and intervention are important.

Objective To explore the different characteristics of tumor recurrence after liver transplantation (LT)and hepatectomy(HC)in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Methods The literatures about tumor recurrence of HCC after LT and HC were reviewed and their characteristics were compared. Results There are distinctions of recurrence rates, time, common sites between the recurred tumors after LT and HC,and their correlation factors and mechanisms of recurrence are also different. Conclusion Preventive measures should be strengthened and treatments should be more targeted according to the different characteristics of tumor recurrence after LT and HC to improve postoperative life quality and increase the survival rate.

Objective To evaluate the effect of Danshen Chuanxiongqin injection combined with Xuesaitong capsule on blood viscosity in patients with pulmonary heart disease. Methods 80 patients with pulmonary heart disease who were admitted to our hospital between January 2013 and November 2015 were studied, the patients were randomly divided into the combined group and the control group according to the order of admission,40 cases in each group.Control groups were treated with Xuesaitong capsule, and the combined group were treated with Danshen Chuanxiongqin injection on the basis of the control group. The clinical efficacy, blood viscosity(whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity, whole blood viscosity ratio),blood indexes(blood platelet aggregation rate, erythrocyte aggregation index, erythrocyte deformation index),cardiac function and safety were observed. Results There were no significant differences in blood rheological indexes,LVEF,MAP and HR between the two groups before treatment. After treatment, the whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity, whole blood viscosity ratio, platelet aggregation rate, erythrocyte aggregation index, erythrocyte deformation index,MAP and HR in the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment, while LVEF was significantly higher, and the changes in the combined group were more significant than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the clinical total effective rate of treatment in the combined group(88.89%)was significantly higher than that in the control group(62.50%).Conclusion Danshen Chuanxiongqin injection combined with Xuesaitong capsule is effective in the treatment of pulmonary heart disease. It can significantly reduce blood viscosity, blood related indexes and improve cardiac function.

To screen and identify the mimotopes for lipopolysaccharide(LPS) epitope, a rand om phage displayed dodecapeptide library was screened with a monoclonal antibody 2B4 spe ci fically against LPS conservative epitope. The positive clones were identified by phage ELISA and competitive inhibition assay by either S.typhi T 8-61 LPS or E.coli O111:B4 LPS. After three rounds of biopanning, the clones binding with 2B4 antibody were well enriched with positive rate of 80%. The bindings between 12 of positive phage clones and screening antibody were competitively inhibited by the two kinds of LPS,indicating that the positive clones have similar epitope with LPS. The positive peptide sequences were deduced from the corresponding DNA sequences. There were identical sequences among them. The seq uences were GPPQWFFSQPQL (5/12,41.7%),LPQYFWNTATTA (3/12,25%),FPQNHWNVP WAT(2/12,16.6%),HSQSFWNAPLAM and AHPWTHGYFPPL (1/12,8.3%) respectively . The results demonstrate that the peptides screened with 2B4 antibody are mimot opes for LPS conservative epitope.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the clinical efficiency of 0.1% tacrolimus ointment combined with paroxetine in patients with neurodermatitis associated with insomnia.MethodsTotally,74 patients suffering from neurodermatitis and insomnia were consecutively enrolled in this study, and randomly assigned into the combination group and control group according to their number(odd or even). Both groups were given topical 0.1% tacrolimus ointment twice a day,and the combination group was additionally given oral paroxetine 10 mg once a day,for 8 weeks. The outcome parameters included main symptoms of neurodermatitis and Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI) score.ResultsNo significant difference was observed in the cure rate (54.3%(19/35) vs.53.1% (17/32),P> 0.05) or response rate (82.9% (29/35) vs.81.3% (26/32),P> 0.05),between the combination group and control group.PSQI score was significantly lower in the combination group than in the control group after 8 weeks of treatment(P < 0.05).ConclusionsThe 0.1% tacrolimus ointment can be used to treat neurodermatitis safely.Antianxiety treatment can reduce the recurrence of neurodermatitis associated with insomnia, and improve the quality of sleep in patients.

Objective To investigate the effects of pulmonary arterial endothelium cells(PAEC) injuryed by tumor necrosis factor ? (TNF-?) on the proliferation of pulmonary arterial smooth muscle cells (PASMC) and the influence of heat stress response (HSR) on it .Methods Normal PAEC or PAEC endured with HSR were incubated with TNF-? at the concentrations of 500, 1000 and 2000u/ml in 1 hour, then cultured in DMEM without serum in 24 hours, the upper liquid was collected to prepare the endothelial cell-conditioned medium liquid (EC-CMⅠ or EC-CMⅡ ), in which PASMC were incubated in 24 hours as group Ⅰ or group Ⅱ respectively. The normal endothelial cell-conditioned medium liquid was also prepared to incubate PASMC in 24 hours as group Ⅲ.The PASMC were incubated without the endothelial cell-conditioned medium liquid as group Ⅳ.Flow cytometry was applied to determining the intracellular DNA content of the incubated PASMC. The fractions of different cytocycle phases were calculated according to the areas under the curves of DNA content. Results Compared with those of group Ⅳ, the percentage of PASMC in G0-G1 phases increased markedly ,and in S and G2-M phases decreased significantly in group Ⅲ (P
