MeSH is a controlled vocabulary developed by U.S. National Library of Medicine. It is used for indexing articles for MEDLINE/PubMed or building search strategies for medical literatta-e retrieval. MeSH terminology provides information on how TCM being understood and accepted by western medicine, with the time when the terms added in, the scope notes, and hierarchical structure of terms in the category of Complementary Therapies. This article thoroughly discussed the definition and classification of complementary therapies in MESH.

Objective To investigate the effect of oxaliplatin combined with capecitabine on the rate of local control and anal sphincter preservation of rectal cancer. Methods Eighty patients with stage Ⅱ/Ⅲ colorectal adenocarcinoma were randomly divided into control group and observation group, each group in 40cases.The patients in the observation group were treated with oxaliplatin and capecitabine. The control group was treated with oxaliplatin combined with leucovorin and 5-fluorouracil.The patients were followed up for 2~4 weeks. The local curative effect, perioperative biochemical index,R0 (excision margin without cancer cell) resection rate and sphincter preserving rate were compared between the two groups. Results In the control group, the short-term curative effect was 47.50%, which in the observation group was 60.00%, the difference was statistically significant (x2=4.22,P<0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in the biochemical indicators between the two groups (all P>0.05).The R0 resection rates of the control group and the observation group were 62.50%,57.50% (x2=0.67,P>0.05).The anal sphincter preservation rates of the control group and observation group were 32.50%,37.50% respectively (x2=0.67,P>0.05).The local control rates of the control group and observation group were 90.00%,92.50%,which of the observation group was higher than the control group, but the difference was not statistically significant(x2 =0.32,P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of oxaliplatin and capecitabine can improve the local curative effect in patients with rectal cancer without affecting the biochemical indicators of perioperative patients, but the effect of R0 resection rate and preserving anus rate in patients with rectal cancer compared with the chemotherapy regimen of FOLFOX4 has no significant difference, it is worthy of clinical promotion.

This paper is intended to figure out how to develop and maintain the traditional Chinese medical (TCM)thesaurus in the Internet Era. The history of TCM thesaurus was reviewed. The function of TCM thesaurus in searching information in internet and the impact of internet to thesauri were discussed. Suggestions on descriptor/term selection, term relations, and thesaurus maintaining were put forward.

Objective To evaluate the accuracy of continuous noninvasive hemoglobin ( Hb ) monitoring in the patients undergoing cesarean section. Methods A total of 200 patients, at 36-42 weeks of gestation, aged 19-40 yr, with body mass index of 20.5-35.1 kg∕m2 , of ASA physical statusⅠorⅡ, undergoing elective cesarean section from June 2014 to October 2014 in our hospital, were enrolled. A sensor was positioned at patient′s finger and connected to the Masimo Radical?7 Pulse CO?Oximeter, a continuous noninvasive Hb measurement device. Noninvasive Hb obtained with Pulse CO?oximeter ( SpHb) was recorded. Before skin incision ( T0 ) , after delivery of the placenta ( T1 ) , after suturing the uterus ( T2 ) and at the end of operation ( T3 ) , blood samples from the radical artery were collected for determination of total Hb ( tHb) , and SpHb was also recorded. The agreement between two methods was assessed using Bland?Altman analysis. Results At T0-T3, tHb was 111±9, 103±8, 94±8 and (89±7) g∕L, respectively, and SpHb was 124 ± 9, 120 ± 12, 108 ± 9 and ( 103 ± 8 ) g∕L, respectively. Bland?Altman analysis showed that at T0-T3 , the mean difference between SpHb and tHb was 13.5, 17.1, 14.1 and 13.9 g∕L, respectively, and 95% confidence interval was 13.1-13.9, 16.5-17.7, 13.6-14.6 and 13.4-14.4 g∕L, respectively. The limit of agreement was 8.4-18.6, 9.1-25.1, 7.8-20.4 and 7.4-20.4 g∕L at T0-T3 , respectively, and the interchangeable limits of the two methods ranged between 3.5-23.5, 7.1-27.1, 4.1-24.1 and 3.9-23.9 g∕L at T0-T3 , respectively. The repeatability coefficient of tHb and SpHb was 16.5 and 15.8 g∕L, respectively. The relative error of SpHb was (4.6±1.0)%, (5.3±1.4)%, (4.9±1.2)% and (4.8±1.2)% at T0-T3, respectively. Conclusion Continuous noninvasive Hb monitoring provides good accuracy in the patients undergoing cesarean section.

Objective To investigate the effect of ketamine injected via the radicular arteries on spinal cord. Methods Twenty healthy mongrel dogs of both sexes weighing 12-18 kg were randomly divided into 2 groups ( n = 10 each): control group (group C) and ketamine group (group K). The animals were anesthetized with intravenous pentobarbital 30-35 mg/kg, fentanyl 50-100 μg and vecuronium 0.2 mg/kg and maintained with propofol ically ventilated after tracheal intubation. A catheter was inserted into T8 poster intercostal artery and advanced toward the opening of radicular artery which supplies the spinal cord. Ketamine 100 mg (in 2 ml of normal saline)was injected via the catheter in group K. Three hours after ketamine administration, the animals were sacrificed. A 1.5 cm long segment of spinal cord at the level of T8 was removed for microscopic examination and determination of the expression of NSE, S100β and Tau protein by immuno-histochemistry. Results There was no significant difference in the number of Nissl' s staining-negative neuronal cells and the expression of NSE, S100β and Tau protein in the spinal cord between the 2 groups ( P > 0.05 ). Conclusion Ketamine injected via the radicular arteries does not induce spinal cord injury.

Objective To screen the amyloid protein-β(Aβ)degradation-associated genes through peripheral blood monocytes(PBMC)-extracted gene microarray analysis in patients with Alzheimer's disease(AD).Methods PBMC were isolated from blood of elderly AD patients versus age-matched healthy individuals(control). The cDNA(mRNAs)were analyzed using gene microarray. And real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction detection and enzyme activity analysis were used to verify the primary outcome of gene chip. Results The expression of cathepsin D mRNA in peripheral blood monocytes was 104.70±15.96 in AD patients as compared with the control group 49.86±5.19,and the activity of cathepsin D was (22 620 ± 1 389) RFU in AD versus (32 210 ± 2 284) RFU in control (both P<0.05).Conclusions The results suggest that the decreased levels of cathepsin D could be the stage markers related to the pathophysiology of AD process.Based on the microarray data,we select cathepsin D genes for further study.
