Objective: To compare the concentration of IL-1? in the apical exudates of phoenix abscess of chronic periapical periodontitis and to examine the correlation of IL-I? concentration with clinical and radiographic findings of the involved teeth. Methods: 35 single-rooted teeth diagnosed as phoenix abscess and 35 as chronic periapical periodontitis were examined. The periapical signs and symptoms were recorded. Radiographs were taken and periapical radiolucent areas were calculated with the help of the AutoCAD software. The standard paper-point sampling method was used to collect and quantify the periapical exudates. IL-1? in the exudates was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). All statistical analyses were finished with SPSS 10.0 software. Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of ozonated water injection for inflammatory pain of ankylosing spondylitis.Methods Forty patients suffered from inflammatory pain of ankylosing spondylit were admitted at the Xishan Coal Electricity Group Co.,Ltd Workers' General hospital from October 2013 to October 2016,and were randomly divided into Group A and Group B,20 cases in each group.Patients in Group A were treated with ozonated water injection into facet joint and sacroiliac joint,while patients in Group B were treated with diclofenac sodium controlled release table as control.Immunosuppressant was taken by all patients in both groups as the basic therapy.The VAS,ratio of VAS less than 3,Schober,Bath ankylosing spondylitis disease activity index(BASDAI),CRP,ESR and side effects were evaluated before treatment and 1 week,1 and 2 months after treatment.Results Before treatment,1st week,1st and 2nd month after treatment,the VAS in group A were (8.20 ± 0.92) points,(2.60 ± 0.79) points,(2.30 ± 0.67) points,(1.50 ± 0.53) points respectively,the Schober were (2.55± 1.62) cm,(3.10± 1.59) cm,(3.35±1.99) cm,(4.10t 1.37) cm,and the BASDAI were (6.30±0.64),(2.68±0.46),(2.08±0.40),(1.56±0.48).Before treatment,1st week,1st and 2nd month after treatment,the VAS in group B were (8.30± 1.06) points,(4.00± 1.05) points,(2.50± 1.18) points,(1.80± 1.03) points,the Schober were (2.50 ± 1.80) cm,(2.85± 1.49) cm,(3.95 ± 1.19)cm,(4.05±0.89) cm,and the BASDAI were (5.64±0.47),(2.98±0.29),(2.20±0.37),(1.70±0.45).The repeated measured repeated measures analysis of variance showed that among three indexes of VAS,Schober and BASDAI,the difference within group was statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05),but there were no significant difference between groups and interaction (P ＞ 0.05).The VAS and BASDAI of patients in both groups were significantly lower at 1st week,1st and 2nd month after treatment as compared to those before treatment,and the Schober of patients in group A at 1st week,1st month,2nd month and that of patients in group B at 1st month,2nd month significantly higher as compared with that before treatment(P＜0.05).The ratio of VAS less than 3 of patients in group A were 80％,100％ and 100％ at 1st week,1st and 2nd month after treatment,that in group B were 40％,80％ and 90％.The ratio of VAS less than 3 of patients in group A were significant higher than that of patients in group B at 1st week,1st month after treatment(P＜0.05).The CRP in group A were (43.3±12.6)mg/L,(8.46±6.92) mg/L before treatment,1st week after treatment,and that in group B were (43.1 ± 16.9)mg/L,(9.92±6.98) mg/L.The ESR in group A were (38.3±9.4) mm/h,(14.2±5.5) mm/h before treatment,1st week after treatment,and that in group B were (32.0± 10.1) mm/h,(12.8±6.5) mm/h.The CRP and ESR after treatment in two groups significantly lower as compared with those before treatment (P＜0.01),but there was no significant difference between group(P＞0.05).Four patients (20％) in group A and 11 patients(55％) in group B were suffered from gastrointestinal side effects after treatment,the ratio of group A was significant lower than that of group B (X2 =5.23,P＜ 0.05).Conclusion Ozonated water injection into facet joint and sacroiliac joint compound immunosuppressant improved pain and joint function,and exhibited a low gastrointestinal side effects.

Objective To investigate the relationship between leptin receptor(LEPR) gene Gln223Arg in polymorphism and serum leptin level of patients with asthma.Methods A case-control study was conducted.One hundred and ninety-two asthma patients were recruited from asthma gene library,among them 100 patients only with asthma(asthma group) and 92 patients with both asthma and metabolic syndrome(asthma complicated with metabolic syndrome group).And 108 normal people were selected as control group.Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) was used to detect the polymorphism of LEPR gene Gln223Arg locus.Serum leptin levels were measured by enzyme-linked immuno sorbent assay,its relationship with asthma was analyze.Results The frequencies of genotype GG,GA,AA in asthma group,asthma complicated with metabolic syndrome group and normal control group were (83.00％ (83/100) vs.83.70％ (77/92) vs.70.37％ (76/108),15.00％ (15/100) vs.15.22％ (14/92) vs.27.78％ (30/108),and2.00％ (2/100) vs.1.08％ (1/92) vs.1.85％ (2/108) respectively).G and A alleles in asthma group,asthma complicated with metabolic syndrome group and normal control group were 90.50％ vs.91.30％vs.84.26％,9.50％ vs.8.70％ vs.15.74％ respectively.Compared with the control group,GG genotype and GA + AA genotype were different between in asthma group and asthma complicated with metabolic syndrome group.The patients with GG genotype showed 2.056 (x2 =4.599,P =0.032,OR =2.056,95％ CI =1.057-3.999) and 2.161 folds (x2 =4.907,P =0.027,OR =2.161,95 ％ CI =1.084-4.311) risk in asthma group and asthma complicated with metabolic syndrome group than that with GA + AA genotype.In terms of leptin levels,in asthma group,female were significant higher than that of control group (P =0.037,P =2.93),while in asthma complicated with metabolic syndrome group,male and female were significantly higher than control group (P =0.001,0.000 ; P =4.530,4.690).Conclusion The polymorphisms of LEPR gene locus Gln223 Arg are related with asthma.Genotype GG carrier is susceptible for the disease.In female,serum leptin is positive relationship with asthma group,especially in asthma complicated with metabolic syndrome.

OBJECTIVE:To provide some references for rational application of intravenous infusion drugs to ensure the safety of drug use. METHODS:Statistical analysis was made to irrational prescriptions intercepted by the pharmacy intravenous admixture service of our hospital from 2009 to 2013. RESULTS:There were 5,802 groups of irrational prescriptions from 2009 to 2013,accounting for 0.12% of total prescriptions. For the irrationality,the top three reasons were improper solvent dosage, drug overdose and improper solvent selection in order,and the involved types of drugs were mainly antimicrobial agents,anti-neoplastic drugs,common drugs and parenteral nutrition drugs (arranged from more to less). Under the pharmacist’s interven-tion,the percentage of irrational prescriptions of intravenous drugs reduced from 0.169 4% in 2009 to 0.082 8% in 2013. The decrease in the irrational prescriptions involving with improper administration was the most significant,followed by those related to drug overdose,frequency,prescribing errors errors improper solvent dosage,incompatibility and improper solvent. CONCLU-SIONS:Pharmacists’intervention can effectively reduce the irrational prescriptions and significantly promote rational use of in-travenous drugs.

Objective To investigate the infiltration of dendritic cell (DC) in Vocal cord polyp, laryngeal leukopla-kia and glottic squamous cell carcinoma,and to observe laryngeal mucosal lesions of the state of the immune microenviron-ment, and to research significance of DC on the development of glottic squamous cell carcinoma. Methods The infiltration of S-100+and CD83+DC in 20 cases of Vocal cord polyp, 47 cases of laryngeal leukoplakia, 45 cases of glottic squamous cell carcinoma tumor and 20 cases of laryngeal normal mucosa were examined using immunohistochemistry. Results The num-ber of S-100+and CD83+DC were significantly higher in glottic squamous cell carcinoma, laryngeal leukoplakia and vocal cord polyp than that in laryngeal normal mucosa (P<0.05). The number of S-100+and CD83+DC were higher in laryngeal leukoplakia than that in glottic squamous cell carcinoma (P<0.05). The number of S-100+and CD83+DC in mild dysplasia and moderate dysplasia were less than that in severe atypical hyperplasia (P<0.01). In glottic squamous cell carcinoma, S-100+ and CD83+DC with poor-differentiated was significantly less than that with well-differentiated (P < 0.01). Conclu-sion Changes in the number of dendritic cell was found in vocal cord polyp, laryngeal leukoplakia and glottic squamous cell carcinoma, which indicated that there were an abnormal immune status. Changing of dendritic cell in laryngeal mucosa plays an important role in laryngeal cancer development.

Aim To investigate the effect of the inhibitors of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A(HMG-CoA)reductase enzyme,simvastatin on E-Selectin ex-pression and adhesive function assay induced by CD40L.Methods Human umbilical vein endothelial cell(HUVEC)was cultured from ECV304 cell strain.Then E-Selectin expression and adhesion of lymphocytes to endothelial cells induced by CD40L and interfered with different concentrations of simvastatin or simvastatin(5 ?mol?L-1)+mevalonic acid were determined by RT-PCR and FCM analysis.Results Preincubation of HUVECs with simvastatin(0~10 ?mol?L-1)decreased the expression of E-Selectin induced by CD40L in a concentration-dependent manner.Mevalonic acid(400 ?mol?L-1)inhibited the restrain of simvastatin on E-Selectin expression.Moreover,preincubation with simvastatin,decreased significantly adhesion of lymphocytes to endothelial cells induced by CD40L.Conclusions Simvastatin inhibits activation of endothelial cells induced by the CD40L/CD40 pathway through HMG-CoA dependent effect.

The origin of nerves innervating the small intestine and oral part of the colon of the cat was studied by means of the retrograde axonal transport of HRP. Twelve adult cats were used in this experiment. The proximal cut end of the superior mesenteric plexus was immersed in HRP solution, in order to localize the neurons which contribute fibers to this plexus. Neurohistochemical procedures were processed according to Mesulam's tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) method. HRP labeled cells or fibers can be identified bilaterally in the following places: 1. The dorsal motor nucleus of the vagus nerve; about 80% of the labeled cells were found in a region from 0.4mm below to 2.0 mm above the obex, approximately at the rostral two-thirds of the middle segment of this nucleus. 2. The reticular formation of medulla; only a few cells labeled and 92% of them were located in an area from 0.2, mm to 2.7 mm above the obex. 3. The coeliac-superior mesenteric ganglion complex; almost all of the labeled cells were concentrated in the caudal part of it, near the origin of the superior mesenterie plexus. 4. The nodose ganglion; most of the oval or round labeled cells were of medium or small size, their diameters vary from 30 to 40?m, and the average total numbers of the labeled cells were 661 in the left and 695 in the right ganglion respectively. 5. The spinal ganglia; small round or oval labeled cells (25～45 ?m in diameter) were found in the left T_2 to L_5 and right T_2 to L_4 ganglia, with the most heavily labeled segments at T_(13) and L_1 (left, mean 365; right, mean 34% of all labeled cells). The average total number of the labeled Cells were 1872 in the left and 1698 in the right side. 6. Transganglionic labeled fibers were seen in the gracile nuclei of one cat, suggesting that HRP molecules are transported retrogradely in the peripheral process and anterogradely in the centrally projecting process of the same neuron of spinal ganglia.
