Objective To investigate the relationship between plasma rennin levels in ischemic stroke patients and aspirin-in-duced gastrointestinal bleeding .Methods 50 ischemic stroke cases in neurology department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from June 2012 to December 2012 were collected and divided into 2 groups depended plasma rennin levels :low rennin group and high rennin group .Low rennin group contained 21 cases and high rennin group containd 29 cases .Ap-pearance of haematemesis ,melena and fecal occult blood were considered as positive identification ,peptic ulcer bleeding in endoscope or death as the endpoint event in 1 year follow-up .Comparison of the incidence of gastrointestinal bleeding between 2 groups was made .Results The average age of patients in low rennin group was higher than that in high rennin group(P<0 .05);blood pres-sure of patients in low rennin group was higher than that of high rennin group(P<0 .05);gastrointestinal bleeding rate of low ren-nin group was higher than that of high rennin group(P>0 .05) .Conclusion Different plasma rennin levels in ischemic stroke pa-tients may be unrelated to aspirin-induced gastrointestinal bleeding .

Objective To determine the median effective target effect-site concentration (EC50) of sufentanil when intraoperative wake-up test was successful in patients undergoing scoliosis surgery.Methods Ninety ASA Ⅰ or Ⅱ patients,aged 18-64 yr,with body mass index ＜ 30 kg/m2,scheduled for scoliosis surgery under sevoflurane and sufentanil anesthesia,were randomly divided into Ⅰ-Ⅵ groups (n =15 each).Anesthesia was induced with sufentanil,etomidate and cisatracurium,and maintained with sevoflurane,sufentanil and cisatracurium.The patients were tracheal intubated and mechanically ventilated.Before the wake-up test,infusion of cisatracurium was stopped and the end-tidal concentration of sevoflurane was adjusted to 0.The EC50 was determined by the K(a)rber method.The target effect-site concentration of sufentanil was set at 0.19 ng/ml in group Ⅰ,0.18 ng/ml in group Ⅱ and gradually decreased in decrements of 0.01 ng/ml.The wake-up test was performed 5 min later.The EC50 and 95 ％ confidence interval of sufentanil were calculated by the K(a)rber method.Results EC50 of sufentanil obtained was 0.164 ng/ml and 95％ confidence interval of sufentanil obtained was 0.157-0.172 ng/ml when the wake-up test was successful.Conclusion The EC50 of sufentanil is 0.164 ng/ml when the intraoperative wake-up test is successful in the patients undergoing scoliosis surgery.

Objective To investigate the clinical value of the subfascial endoscopic perforator surgery (SEPS) combined the endovenous laser on venous ulcer in lower extremities.Methods Subfascial endoscopic perforator surgery was applied to 32 patients (34 limbs) of varicose veins with venous ulcers,aided by endovenous laser treatment of great saphenous veins and varicose veins.Results All branch limb varicose veins disappear,leg heaviness significantly reduce soreness,leg ulcers were healed up in 2 to 8 weeks after surgery.All patients were followed for 1 year to 5 years,no recurrence of varicose veins and ulcers formed.Conclusion The method of endoscopic perforator surgery combined the endovenous laser for venous ulcer in lower extremities is simple operation,small trauma,quicker recovery,should be widely applied.

Two DNA fragments, designated as P190CRI (AA1-55) and P190CRV (AA1597-1667) respectively, which encoded amino acid residues of conserved region I and V on the P190 antigen, were amplified by polymerase chain reaction from genomic DNA in FCC1/HN strain of Plasmodium falcipamm isolated from Hainan Province, China. It was found that there were five bases substitution in the P190CRV, in comparison with the nucleotide sequences of MAD20 strain. These two sequenced fragments were inserted into pGEX-2T plasmid. E.coli JM109 (DE3) were transformed with the recombinant plasmids and the parental plasmid. The results show that the two fragments were expressed at high level as C-terminal fusions with glutathione s-transferase (GST). The fusion proteins were easily purified from bacterial lysates by affinity chromatography using glutathione sepharose 4B.

OBJECTIVE To study the causes of recurrence and treatment methods in patients with recurrent sinonasal melanoma. METHODS From 1993 to 2003, a retrospective analysis of consecutive 11 cases with recurrent sinonasal melanoma was conducted. RESULTS Four out of the 11 cases with recurrent sinonasal melanoma were caused by misdiagnosis, while the other 7 cases recurred after operation with pathological diagnosis. Among the 7 cases, 5 were found recurrences after operation alone, and the other 2 after the operation and radiation therapy. The recurrence lesions located in nasal and paranasal sinus in 7 cases, in orbit, skull base, soft and hard palate in 1 case, in parotid gland and skin in 1 case. In face, orbit and extended skull base in 1 case. Cervical lymph node recurrence developed in 1 patient. The time of first relapse was 10 months after therapy. The 1-, 2-and 3-year survival rates after reoperation were 72.7 %, 18.2 % and 9.1 % respectively. CONCLUSION The reasonable treatment and decrease the misdignosis are the main measures to improve the cure rate of recurrent sinonasal melanoma.

AIM: To investigate the regulation of sodium pump ?-subunit gene expression in the cortex of kidneys from one kidney one clip (1k1c) hypertensive rats. METHODS: 1k1c hypertensive rats were prepared by partially ligating the left renal artery and removing the right kidney. 4 weeks later, all the rats were killed, the levels of sodium pump ? 1-, ? 2-, and ? 3-subunit mRNA and protein in the cortex of kidney were detected with reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) method and immunohistochemical assay, respectively. RESULTS: The mRNA levels of sodium pump ? 1-subunit increased and ? 2- and ? 3-subunit were unchanged in the cortex of kidneys from 1k1c hypertensive rats compared with control rats, while no change has been found for all the three subunits gene expressions at protein level. CONCLUSION: There were some changes in the expression of sodium pump ?-subunit gene in the cortex of kidney of the 1k1c hypertensive rat, which might be related to the development of hypertension in this hypertensive model.
