Objective To evaluate effectiveness of guideline-oriented training for community healthcare workers (HCWs) with The Applied Standards for Hypertension Prevention and Control at the Grassroots to provide guidance to hypertension management in communities. Methods In 2003, four community health-care service centers in Beijing were selected and assigned as intervention (one at urban and one at rural) and control (one at urban and one at rural ) groups, respectively. HCWs in the intervention group received guideline-oriented training based on The Applied Standards for Hypertension Prevention and Control at the Grassroots, while HCW in the control group did not. All HCWs participated in tests of the knowledge of hypertension management using the same questionnaire before and after the training to analyze their changes in awareness scores with a full of 32. Results There were 39 and 33 HCWs in the intervention group and 15 and 16 HCWs in the control group, respectively at urban, and 30 and 33 HCWs in the intervention group and 21 and 22 HCWs in the control group, respectively at rural before and after the training were involved in the tests, respectively. After training, overall knowledge scores of hypertension prevention and control in HCWs in the intervention group at urban increased obviously, with an average score of 26 of 32 ( 81.0% ) after training from 15 of 32 (45. 6% ) before it ( P < 0. 01 ) , with a net increase of 28.5% (9/32), as compared to HCWs in the control group. Those at rural increased to 6. 6% (20/32) after training from 40. 7% (13/32) before it ( P < 0.01 ), with a net increase of 22. 2 percent (7/32), as compared to HCWs in the control group. Their awareness of knowledge of hypertension prevention and control significantly improved, with the most obviously in the target of blood pressure control (51.7% vs. 31.5% ) and principles of pharmaceutical therapy (42. 2% vs. 27. 6% ). Conclusions Guideline-oriented training based on The Applied Standards for Hypertension Prevention and Control at the Grassroots can effectively improve community HCWs' awareness of knowledge of hypertension management and should be widely promoted in communities.

With the evolving of information technology and push models,as an important mobile application in the Inter-net,WeChat official account is an important platform for the implementing the"Internet plus Medical"model.Effective dissemi-nation of more medical knowledge is also an important component of achieving a healthy China. This is not only a task for public hospitals, but also a responsibility. This paper takes the health communication strategy managed by the WeChat official account of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital as the research object. From the perspective of health communication,we conducted a comprehensive analysis of its development overview, content production, and push effectiveness. On the basis of sorting and sum-marizing the existing problems, suggestions were proposed to focus on content construction, strengthen overall management, and deepen training supervision. The study aims to provide reference for public hospitals to improve the operation and construction of WeChat official account, offer practical reference for scientific, standardized, and orderly management of self media so as to a-chieve high-quality health communication.

Objective To investigate the clinical presentation, diagnosis, and surgical management of anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor encephalitis. Methods One case of anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis in a previously healthy 17-year-old female related to the development of NMDA receptor autoantibodies triggered by an ovarian teratoma was reported. The related literature was reviewed and the clinical feature was summarized. Results Removal of the ovarian teratoma combined with intravenous immuneglobulin and corticosteroid proved curative with eventual resolution of the paraneoplastic disease process and associated psychiatric symptoms. Conclusion Increasingly, reports of anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis associated with ovarian teratomas,as well as a novel assay to measure these antibodies suggest an etiology for this disease process that may be amenable to prompt surgical excision.

Objective:To evaluate the safety and efficacy of n-butyl cyanoacrylate (NBCA) in treating great saphenous vein(GSV) incompetence.Methods:60 patients (60 limbs) with GSV incompetence were randomly divided into NBCA glue group (30 cases) and radiofrequency ablation(RFA) group in 30 cases. The clinical outcomes, venous clinical severity score(VCSS), and quality of life using the Aberdeen varicose vein questionnaire(AVVQ) were evaluated. The primary endpoint is the occlusion rate of GSV at 3 months after surgery. Results:For the two groups, the occlusion rate of GSV was 100% immediately after surgery and at 3 months follow-up. AVVQ and VCSS were improved in the two groups( P<0.05). In terms of complications, the NBCA group had scleroma in 3 cases, pain and skin redness in 1 case respectively, but no ecchymosis and numbness. In the RFA group, numbness occurred in 1 case, skin redness in 2 cases, scleroma in 3 cases, ecchymosis and pain in 4 cases respectively. The incidence of ecchymosis and total complications in the NBCA group was significantly lower than that in the RFA group( P<0.05). No DVT or other adverse event occurred in both groups. Conclusion:NBCA and RFA have the same short-term closure rate. Furthermore, the NBCA treatment requires less equipment, no use of tumescent anesthetic, and has lower incidence in terms of complications than that of RFA.
