Objective To apply Six-minute Walk Test (6MWT) in acute stroke patients and analyze the results. Methods From Novem-ber, 2014 to January, 2015, 29 acute stroke patients with multiple or single infarction accepted 6MWT. The distance, distance per minute, blood pressure and heart rate before and after test, adverse events or discomforts during the test were recorded. Weak and fatigue scores were calculated. Results The mean of distance in acute stroke patients was (240.1±17.2) m, that was (46.8±3.3)%of the predicted values in the healthy. Male patients walked (255.4±21.40) m, not different from (214.9±28.4) m in female (t=-1.151, P=0.26). The distance liked to be negatively correlated with age (r=-0.356, P=0.058). The distance was similar in each minute. Weak score was (46.8±3.3)%, fatigue score was mostly between-20 and 20, and no correlation was found between them. Blood pressure and heart rate increased significantly at the end of the test (t>2.476, P<0.05). Few of patients complained mild discomforts. Conclusion 6MWT is safe and suitable for acute stroke patients for physical mobility judgement, but adverse events need to be cared.

Objective To study the effect of auricular point sticking on the cerebrovascular reactivity in hypertension patients of different stages by using Transcranial Doppler (TCD) technology.Method Three hundred hypertension patients were randomized into a treatment group (auricular point sticking) of 180 cases and a control group (medication) of 120 cases. The cerebral arterial hemodynamic indexes were observed and analyzed by TCD before and after intervention.Result In comparing the improvements of cerebral arterial hemodynamic indexes in stage 1-2 hypertension patients, the treatment group was significantly superior to the control group (P<0.05,P<0.01); in stage 3 hypertension patients, the improvements of cerebrovascular hemodynamics of the treatment group were significantly better than those in the control group (P<0.05,P<0.01).Conclusion Auricular point sticking can improve the cerebrovascular hemodynamics and effectively improve the cerebrovascular reactivity of hypertension patients. TCD can help observe and estimate the cerebral arterial function of hypertension patients, and prevent and intervene in cerebrovascular diseases.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the long-term therapeutic efficacy of muscle-region alignment needling plus dermalneedle therapy in treating post-stroke upper-limb spasticity.MethodTotally 488 patients with post-stroke upper-limb spasticity were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 244 in each group. Besides theessentialrehabilitation treatment, the treatment group was intervened by muscle-region alignment needling plus dermal needle therapy, while the control group was given regular Western medication.Thetwo groups were intervened for 3 weeks and were followed up for 6 months. The neurologic function, Functional Comprehensive Assessment (FCA), and Stroke Speciality-Quality of Life (SS-QOL) were observed for the follow-up study.ResultThe total effective rate was 93.4% in the treatment group versus 61.5% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); the neurologic function, FCA score, and SS-QOL score in the treatment group were significantly superior to that in the control group at the end of the follow-up study (P<0.05).ConclusionMuscle-region alignment needling plus dermal needle therapycan produce a content long-term therapeutic efficacy in treating post-stroke upper-limb spasticity.

Aim To observe the effects of effective fraction of Epimedium,Astragalus,Radix Puerariae on behavioral and pathological changes in a transgenic mouse model of Alzheimer’s disease. Methods Six-month-old APPswe /PS1 ΔE9 transgenic mice were ran-domly divided into 2 groups:model group and effective fraction group,1 0 mice each group. The mice in the effective fraction group were treated with the effective fraction of Astragalus,Radix Puerariae,Epimedium compound for 8 weeks. The C57BL/6J mice were used as negative control group. After 8 weeks, the learning and memory function were measured by Morris water maze, the pathological changes in brain tissue were ob-served by Modified Bielschowsky staining and Nissl 's staining. Results During place navigation trial, the escape latency in the APPswe /PS1 ΔE9 double transgenic model mice was longer than those of the mice of C57 (P <0.05),the escape latency in the mice of effec-tive fraction group was significantly reduced than those of the mice in model group (P <0.05).During spatial probe trail, the platform-crossing times in the APPswe /PS1 ΔE9 double transgenic mice were different from the mice of C57 (P <0.05),the platform-crossing times in the mice of effective fraction group were significantly increased than those of the mice in model group (P <0.05).The average swimming velocity in the APPswe /PS1 ΔE9 double transgenic model mice was increased than that of mice of C57 (P <0.05 ),there was no significant difference between effective fraction group and model group (P > 0.05 ). The Modified Bielschowsky staining shows that the neuron fibers of the cerebral cortex of APPswe /PS1 ΔE9 double transgenic mice were enlarged, swelling, and dense. There were senile plaques and nerve fiber tangles in the cerebral cortex of APPswe /PS1 ΔE9 double transgenic mice. The neuron fibers of mice in the effective fraction group were relieved;there was a small amount of senile plaque. The Nissl’s staining shows that the neurons of the cerebral cortex of APPswe /PS1 ΔE9 mice were edema, the number of cells were decreased. The mice in the effective fraction group were free of the disease.Con-clusion The double transgenic APPswe /PS1 ΔE9 mice of AD can simulate the specific pathogenesis of AD, which may be the efficient experimental animal model. The effective fraction of epimedium, astragalus and ra-dix puerariae may have a neuroprotective effect against AD via improving the learning and memory ability, and reduce the cerebral cortex nerve fiber tangles, senile plaques and neurons edema changes.
