Objective To explore the reliability and validity of the simplified Chinese version of the Oswestry disability index (SCODI) and the curative effect of community-based rehabilitation for patients with lumbar disc herniation (LDH). Methods 165 patients with LDH received community-based rehabilitation according to the severity of their LDH. Before treatment and after 3 months, the SCODI, the Roland-Morris disability questionnaire (RMDQ) and a visual analogue scale (VAS) were used to evaluate the effects. The reliability and validity of the SCODI was thus tested. The reliability analysis included internal consistency as measured by Cronbach's coefficient, and test-retest reliability as measured by an interclass correlation coefficient (ICC). The validity analysis used Spearman's correlation coefficient (for concurrent efficacy validity) and factor analysis (for construct validity). The correlation between SCODI, RMDQ and VAS results was analyzed. Results There was statistically significant functional improvement and better QOL in LDH patients after community-based rehabilitation. The SCODI showed good validity and reliability. There was significant correlation among the SCODI, RMDQ and VAS results. Conclusion Community-based rehabilitation can significantly alleviate symptoms for patients with LDH and improve their QOL.The SCODI is a reliable and valid instrument for measuring the curative effect of community-based rehabilitation on patients with LDH.

Objective To analyze the results of the assessment of malaria elimination in 8 counties(districts)in Huai'an City,Jiangsu Province,so as to provide evidences for consolidating the achievement of malaria elimination. Methods The da-ta from the network reports of malaria epidemic situation, blood examinations of febrile patients, epidemiological questionnaires of malaria cases, investigation and disposal of epidemic focuses were collected and analyzed in Huai'an City from 2010 to 2016. The results of the assessment on the clinicians'ability of malaria diagnosis and treatment as well as the inspectors'skill of Plas-modium microscopic examinations were analyzed. In the natural village where the last local case of malaria was reported ,no less than 200 blood filter papers were made for gene detection of Plasmodium. Results From 2010 to 2016,308 malaria cases were reported in Huai'an City. Totally 323002 patients received blood detection of malaria, among which 272 ones were positive and the positive rate was 0.08%. The majority of the malaria cases were imported, except 19 and 3 local infection cases in 2010 and 2011,respectively. Except Qinghe District,a total of 1420 blood filter papers from the other 7 counties(districts)were detect-ed genetically, and the results were all negative. Six of the eight counties(districts)gained an average score of 20 points on the Plasmodium microscopic examination, and Jinhu County and Huai'an District got a minimum average score of 19.6 points. In ca-pacity assessment of malaria diagnosis and treatment,Hongze District gained the highest average score of 20 points, and Huai'an District got the lowest average score of 18.8 points. The malaria elimination assessment scores of the eight counties(districts) were all above 97 points. All the 8 counties(districts)in Huai'an City passed the malaria elimination assessment at county(dis-trict)level until 2016. Conclusions All the 8 counties(districts)in Huai'an City have passed the malaria elimination assess-ment with high scores. After the malaria elimination, the monitoring still should continue to consolidate the achievement.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1987;0(03):-
Aim To study the effect and molecular mechanism of pretreatment with COPP on hypoxia/reoxygenation injury of H9c2 myocytes. Methods H9c2 myocytes model of hypoxia/reoxygenation injury was established and H9c2 myocytes were given COPP pretreatment before hypoxia/reoxygenation.Treatment with Znpp and all-trans retinoic acid(ATRA)inhibited HO-1 and Nrf2-ARE respectively. The level of LDH and CK in cell supernatants were measured.HO-1mRNA expression was analyzed by RT-PCR.HO-1 and Nrf2 protein expressions were analyzed by Western blot. Results Compared with hypoxia/reoxygenation group, the level of LDH and CK in COPP pretreatment groups decreased significantly and the level of HO-1mRNA,HO-1 protein expression and Nrf2 protein expression in the nucleus significantly increased.Znpp abolished protective effect of COPP pretreatment.ATRA blocked the nuclear accumulation of Nrf2 and decreased HO-1 protein expression that COPP pretreatment induced. Conclusions COPP can induce HO-1 overexpression which has protective effect on hypoxia/reoxygenation injury of H9c2 myocytes. Its mechanism is related to Nrf2-ARE signaling pathway.
